π±πππ πΎπππππππππ ππππππ πππππππ the cluttered shelf of the janitor's closet, smirking as Blake's lips brushed hers again. "You know, for a quarterback, you're awfully bad at keeping your eye on the ball," she teased between kisses, her voice dripping with the same sarcastic wit she inherited from her dad. If someone told her a year ago she'd be making out in a janitor's closet of all places, she would've laughed them into oblivion. But here she was, in the land of mops and bleach fumes, and damn if the risk of getting caught didn't make it all the more thrilling. Nothing like the possibility of public humiliation to spice things up.
Blake grinned, his hands sliding around her waist resting just above her ass. "What can I say? You're a better distraction than the entire defensive line."
Damn right she was. "Yeah, well, I'm not the one who has to throw touchdowns tonight" Jovi quipped, poking his chest playfully. "If we lose to East High because your mind's stuck in janitor-closet-ville, I'll be very disappointed. Though I guess I'll have this to blame, which honestly is a pretty good story." Losing because her boyfriend's mind was on her and her alone? Well, that was an acceptable reason in her books β there would be other games!
Blake chuckled, tugging her closer. "You'll cheer me on from the sidelines, though, right?"
Jovi raised an eyebrow draping her arms around his neck. "Oh, absolutely. I'll be the loudest one there. By that, I mean I'll probably scream something sarcastic and inappropriate. Maybe throw a few insults your way if you fumble. Really keep you motivated, you know?"
He shook his head, but the smile didn't leave his face. "Remind me why I'm dating you again?"
"Because I'm the only girl who knows what 'blitz' means and doesn't cry at rom-coms?" Growing up with her fathers no chick flick moments rule meant she also grew up laughing at sad movies, don't get her wrong, the odd movie can make her eyes get a little cloudy but majority of the time she laughed β she also blames her dad for that. She shrugged. "Plus, I'm a total catchβ"
Before Jovi could finish her sentence, the door creaked open. She and Blake immediately froze as the towering figure of Coach Steele, aka resident terror, stood framed in the doorway, arms crossed and a sneer plastered across her face.
"Well, well, well," coach drawled, eyes gleaming with the kind of cruel amusement reserved for predators before they pounce. "Look at what we have hereβRomance of the Year happening in a janitor's closet. Could you two be more of a clichΓ©?"
Coach Steele was truly going to be the one that broke Jovi Winchester, it's not that Jovi was scared of her but Coach had a way of getting under her skin like no other. Maybe it was the way she always seemed so smug or the way her lips would form a twisted smile before she let you have it or maybe it was the fact her name was Margret β Margret βThe woman was clearly cursed from birth to become a demon disguised as a coach. Jovi pulled herself out of Blake's arms and gave a dramatic sigh. "Aww, Coach, you caught us. Guess we'll have to cancel the cover shoot for Teen Vogue. Shame, really."
Steele's lips twitched into what might've been a smile if her soul hadn't been pickled in vinegar. "Save the wisecracks, Winchester. I'd say you're lucky I don't throw you both out of here, but let's be realβI'd love nothing more than to eject you from the gene pool entirely. However, since Blake here is our star quarterback and you're annoyingly decent at cheer, I'll let it slide."
Annoyingly decent meant amazing for Coach Steele, well, at least Jovi was sure it did. Blake gulped, shifting nervously beside Jovi. "Thanks, Coach. Uh... we were justβ"
Steele cut him off with a sharp snap of her fingers. "Save it, Brady. I don't care what you were doing. Just don't let it affect your game tonight. If you're not winning, you're dead to me." She turned to Jovi, her tone switching from teasing to harsh in the blink of an eye. "And you, Winchester. If I see you slacking at practice or hear one more sarcastic comment from you during a game, I'll have you doing laps until your sneakers disintegrate. Do I make myself clear?"
Jovi gave a mock salute. "Crystal clear, Coach Killjoy."
Steele's eyes narrowed dangerously, but she didn't respond. Instead, she turned on her heel and stalked off down the hallway.
Jovi waited until she was out of earshot before letting out a breath, looking at Blake with a grin. "Well, that was fun. Just another day in the life, right?"
Blake shook his head, laughing quietly. "You are something else, Jovi Winchester."
"Damn straight I am," Jovi said, linking her arm through his as they finally stepped out of the closet. "Now, let's go get some lunch before Coach comes back and makes me do burpees for eternity."

ππ,
Jovi and Kat walked side by side both sporting their cheer outfits as they gossiped amongst themselves about the days events. Jovi was filling Kat in on Coach Steele catching her and Blake in the closet which set Kat into a fit of laughter "I mean, seriously, Jov. The janitors closet? I can't even defend you here, in fact I'm with Coach on this, she had every right to put a swift end to that" Jovi groaned in frustration "it was his idea! And don't get me wrong, it was fun at first but then I realised how cramped it was and I hit my head on one of the shelves β so unsexy by the way"
Kat laughed once more finding amusement in her friends misfortune. "well, maybe next time tell lover boy to keep it in his pants" Jovi scoffed shaking her head "keep it in his pants? Please, he's a teenage boy. That's like asking him to stop playing video games β never gonna happen"
Kat nodded in agreement with the her friend "fair enough. In other news, did you hear your cousins in the running for prom queen with her Prince Charming boyfriend?"
Jovi rolled her eyes, she was happy for Alex β of course she was. But Henry? Since she'd been around for a while now she'd started to pick up on some weird things about the boy. Call it her Hunter paranoia kicking in but there was just something about him that she couldn't place and it had been bugging her like hell "yep, I'm happy for her but Henry? He gives me a weird vibe" Kat furrowed her brows "you don't trust him? I mean I don't blame you if you don't he seems way too perfect" Jovi shrugged, she didn't dare tell Alex about her thoughts in fear that she'd ruin the girls relationship and if she told Claire β god help us all. The Novak girl had gone psycho trying go find cases and also cranking up her assault charges left, right and centre. So she kept it to herself mainly but Kat was an exception "I don't know, but I know I wouldn't wanna be left alone with him" hands grasped the blondes shoulders making her jump twisting around with a raised fist but quickly dropped it seeing her idiot friend "woah! Easy there, Rocky!"
She sighed putting her arms down looking up at a grinning Ares "how many times do I need to tell you not to sneak up on me? One of these days I'll hit you so hard you'll end up in a hospital" one can only hope β Jovi thought to herself.
Kat shrugged with a smirk "you should've just hit him, might've knocked some sense into him" her brown eyes stared into his with amusement, Ares narrowed his own eyes at the girl hating that Jovi had corrupted the girl he was friends with first "anyway, Jovi, heard you've been having fun little lunch breaks?" He spoke a knowing smirk on his face looking down at the girl with gleaming eyes, why was he so happy? Because he could hold this against her for years, if he ever needed some favour from her he could always use this information against her β it's not like she wants her father knowing what she gets up to with her boyfriend. Jovi paused looking up at Ares in disbelief "he did not"
Ares chuckled "oh he did, you're forgetting the fact Blake was my friend first. He tells me everything" Jovi's heart dropped realising that Ares now had leverage over her and she hated it. "You tell a single soul and I'll make sure you're deaths slow and painful" she threatened glaring up at him, a small tight lipped smile pulled at Ares lips as he raised his hands in surrender "hey, I was just saying..."
"Ares, blackmail goes both ways, don't forget that" Kat added sending him a knowing smirk, Ares looked at her, his smirk falling as he realised what she meant. His heart raced wondering what dirt the girls had on him "what do you two know?"
The two girls shared a mischievous smile both knowing more than they should about the boy, Jovi turned back to Ares shrugging casually "wouldn't you like to know?"
Ares gulped.
The girls lead the way walking to the front doors of the school heading outside with a nervous looking Ares trailing behind, Jovi looked up seeing Jody's sheriff truck waiting for her, Ares and Alex. She turned back to her friend "I'll call you later, Kat"
The curly haired girl nodded at her friend before turning to Ares with a big mischievous smile "watch you're back, Cassidy" Ares sent her a concerned look before he awkwardly followed after Jovi.
Jovi opened the door to the backseat of the truck "god you guys aren't waiting for me are you?" She asked with a smirk throwing her bag beside her looking at the two women in front of her, while Ares made his way towards the truck "no we're waiting for the other teenager that follows you around like a lost puppy" Jody said sending Jovi a knowing smile as Ares climbed intro he truck "I do not follow her around like a lost puppy"
Alex laughed turning on her seat to look at him "you so do, it's almost sad to watch" Ares glared at her about to respond with a snarky remark when Jody cut back in "okay, let's try not to kill each other before we get home, please"
Jovi grinned having to look out of the window to prevent her from laughing "such bullshit" Ares grumbled earning a stern look from Jody "hey".
β
π·ππππππ ππππ π±ππ π'π π πππππππ, Jovi's eyes locked onto the Impala parked like a badass sentinel. The sheer presence of that car screamed, trouble incoming. Her stomach did a little flip. Were her dad and uncle here for her? A casual check-in? Or... oh God, had someone died? Please don't let it be the dead one. She had way too much homework to emotionally process a funeral right now.
"What's my dad doing here?" Jovi asked, whipping her head toward Jody for answers.
"Yeah, seriously, what's the deal?" Ares chimed in, throwing Jody a look that screamed, spill the tea.
Jody looked just as clueless, throwing up her hands. "Hey, don't look at me. I didn't put up the Bat-Signal."
As soon as Jody killed the engine, Jovi bolted out of the car like her life depended on it. "Where's the fire?" Alex muttered, trailing after her with Ares, who looked mildly amused.
The key was barely in the lock before Jovi burst through the door, all grins and energy, the picture of someone who had clearly missed her family but wouldn't dare admit it outright.
Her dad and uncle were already on their feet, their expressions brightening as Jovi stormed in. "Dad!"
Dean opened his arms wide, his grin smug but warm. "Hey, Angel."
Jovi launched herself at him like a torpedo of pure affection, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Welp, there goes the neighborhood," Jody quipped as she walked in, raising a hand to Sam in greeting. Behind her, Ares and Alex hovered awkwardly, clearly feeling like extras in a sitcom.
Dean pulled back just enough to look at Jovi, his eyes scanning her like a concerned hawk. "How's school?"
Jovi shrugged, playing it cool. "It's school. My friends are great, cheer's great, and Blake's still amazing, so not too bad."
The mention of Blake instantly killed Dean's grin. His dad mode activated like someone flipped a switch. "He treating you right?"
Jovi rolled her eyes but gave him a reassuring nod. "He's great, Dad."
β Apart from the whole making-out-in-the-janitor's-closet thing, she mentally added, but yeah, no way that was leaving her mouth.
Dean studied her face for a beat before nodding. Acceptable answer. For now.
Jody stepped forward, pulling Dean into a hug. "It's been too long."
Meanwhile, Jovi turned to Sam, who grinned and held his arms out. "Hey, kiddo!"
She practically tackled him. "Uncle Sam!"
Sam looked over her head at Ares and Alex. "Man, it's been a while. Ares, you shot up. And Alex..." He squinted playfully. "That is you, right?"
Ares beamed at the compliment while Alex crossed her arms and gave Sam her patented annoyed goth queen look. "I don't look that different."
Claire, lounging on the couch, smirked. "Amazing what you can accomplish when you spend two hours in the bathroom every morning."
Alex's eyes narrowed. "Since when are you even awake in the morning? I'm surprised you're awake now."
Jovi snorted, trying to hide her laugh behind her hand.
Jody shot them both a look that could melt steel. "Hey! Pretty sure the guys didn't come here to watch you two kill each other." She turned to Dean. "Everything okay? I didn't accidentally butt-dial you, did I?"
Before Dean could answer, Claire stood up, arms crossed like a disgruntled cat. "I called. About the monsters you refuse to believe are monsters."
And with that, she stormed out of the room like the drama queen she was, leaving Jodi sighing and Jovi rolling her eyes.
"You've got to be kidding me," Jody muttered, shaking her head. "You know, if you'd checked in, I could've saved you a trip."
Dean shrugged, giving Jovi a small smile. "Figured we owed youβand Jovβa visit anyway."
Jody tilted her head, smirking. "Well, since you're here, I could use the backup. Gimme that." She grabbed the shopping bag from Sam. "I'll put another chicken on. You guys settle in."
Dean's eyes followed her into the kitchen. "Might want to make it two," he said, rubbing his stomach. He glanced at Sam, who gave him a knowing nod.
"Yeah, definitely two," Sam agreed.
Dean clapped his hands together. "I'm starving."
β
π¨π π πππππ, π±πππ πππ between her dad and Claire at one end of the table while Sam sat beside Dean and Alex beside Claire with Jody at the opposite end of the table. Ares who'd refused to eat his dinner before the game sat on the couch behind them playing with his phone, Jovi was poking at her plate like it had insulted her cheer routine. Eating before the game? Rookie mistake. The other two girls were looking awkwardly between the Winchester's as Dean was inhaling chicken like it was the cure for his daddy issues."oh, this bird is fantastic...when you mix it up with the potatoes and the beans" Dean looked up at them all "you guys eat like this every day?"
Jody looked at him amused "it's just chicken"
"No, they've got a point, you're foods always amazing Jody" Ares spoke from across the room earning a judgemental look from Jovi who muttered under her breath "ass kisser"
Jody sent the boy a grateful smile "thanks Ares" the boy sent her another OTT smile back before he met Jovi's eyes, he sent her a smirk as if to say 'Jody likes me more' but Jovi knew better, in response she rolled her eyes. As if Jody liked him more than her! Ares is quite literally just the burden that was dropped into Jody's lap and Jovi won't ever forget how the woman told her she thought Ares was a jerk when they first met so if that doesn't scream 'I don't like you' she doesn't know what does!
Sam spoke next "it's shaped like chicken. Not a patty orβor a nugget-"
"Can we get to the case?" Claire said cutting him off, Jovi let out a loud huff leaning back in her seat "here we go" she muttered Claire shooting her a quick glare before looking back at the others "three people are missing"
"There is no evidence that they didn't skip town on their own. Two of them were runaways. One was a homeless guy" Jody told the older Winchester's before Claire cut back in "he was last seen at Brayden Point. I've been stalking it out"
Ares kept quiet not wanting to get involved because he'd get into trouble too, he'd gone with Claire on a few of those stake outs because he wanted more experience in the hunting world and Jovi wasn't going to willingly guide him. He wanted to be better than her, but then again he couldn't say I fought Lucifer and lived to tell the tale or I helped stopped the world from ending on multiple occasions. So if he wanted to reach her level of legendary hunting he was going to have to take anything and work his way up but unfortunately that also meant encouraging Claire's delusions...
"Rightβdude" Dean leaned across Sam putting more potatoes on his plate making Sam glare "there's plenty left..." Dean said before looking up at Jody "Brayden Point?"
"Yeah, it's where the kids go to make out and yes, there's about four pounds left on the stove" Jody responded while Claire was quick to cut back in "guys, there's something out there. People are reporting animals they've never seen before, things stalking their front yard that disappear"
Jovi looked up meeting Alex's gaze her friends nose scrunching up in distaste the two of them shared a knowing look already having heard enough of Claire's rambling as Jody spoke back up "this is according to the-" Alex picked up Jody's wine "hey, put it back" Alex put the glass back down "neighbourhood crime blogs that Claire has been reading"
"They're eyewitness accounts"
Jovi begged to differ, they were nothing more than bored soccer moms having nothing to do and posting them on there for attention. It was safe to say she didn't believe Claire's delusions, she really tried to be supportive but the line had to be drawn somewhere. "we've hunted on less" Sam said which made Jovi wanna bang her head against the table β she couldn't believe they were encouraging it!
"what else you got?" Her dad asked next.
"I'm-I'm working on it"
Alex smirked smugly "Jov, remember when Claire caught a werewolf?" the blonde had to keep herself from smirking, she's not a complete bitch...sometimes. But the whole situation did make her laugh, and what made it even better was Ares went with Claire that day after Jovi refused to go. So not only was Claire humbled but so was Ares. "oh yeah..." she turned to her dad and uncle "turned out to be a German shepherd with rabies β was a really embarrassing day for Ares"
"Thanks for pointing that out, Jov" Ares hissed through gritted teeth making the girl grin "anytime, Biebes"
Claire glared at her friend while Sam and Dean looked between them all "and before that was the
