'Not in my nature'

"This is a stupid idea" I mumble as we ready our positions.

"We're committing to this though...right?" Claire asks as she looks from me to Toby.

"Yeah, I'm committed" Toby agrees as a determined look is present on his face.

"Totally committed" I agree, although I do not look as sure of myself as Toby and Claire do.

I look down to Chompsky who seems to have joined in on our stupid idea, although I don't know how much help he'll be.

"Alright...don't hold back" Claire says as we nod our heads.

"Not in my nature" I mumble as Claire groans in annoyance.

"Stop with the twilight quotes!" She warns as I just quickly nod my head.

We count down slowly, trying to prevail the inevitable before we finally get to three and we run straight forward into the sparky yellow spikes.

The plan immediately backfiring as the spikes electrocute us as we go flying back into the ground roughly, my body feeling tingly as I pull myself into a sitting position.

"Yep...bad idea" I groan as I lean against the wall.

"I don't think this doors gonna open" Claire says as I just roll my eyes in annoyance.

I wonder where she got that idea? Was it the electrical spikes? Or the fact that we've been attempting to run into them for the last ten minutes.

"Of course Kanjigar thought of something for every inconvenience except this one" Claire groans as i sulkily nod my head as I fiddle with the pendent around my neck.

I suddenly freeze my actions as I slowly look down at the pendent around my neck. The pendent! With this idea in my head, I tighten my grip of the pendent and hesitantly turn to look at Claire and Toby to find them both staring at me with knowing looks.

"You think this might be what Kanjigar meant? I have to talk with the ones above and prevail? Could this be it?" I ask as they just helplessly shrug their shoulders.

I sigh before holding onto the pendent tightly, chanting in my head for help as I start to think I'm just acting crazy. I then quickly open my eyes at the sound of Claire and Toby gasping. I look down at the pendent to find it glowing a bright blue colour before I find my surroundings suddenly disappearing around me.

I pant and look around as everything disappears and is replaced with mist. Everything around me being white as I look down to find myself, Toby and Claire still in the cage...but we aren't moving...and I'm currently not even there.

"I have been awaiting your arrival young one" I hear a soft voice say as I look up to find a women...but she looked familiar.

She has long blonde hair that went down to her back with a bright green dress on and green gloves to go with it. A green crown lied in her hair as she smiled at me with a smile that wasn't particularly warm, but was welcoming in a way that meant she liked me, and has allowed me to talk to her.

"W-what is this? Who are you?" I ask with wide eyes as I look around for a way out, only to find a void of nothing.

"Don't act like you don't know me, don't act like you haven't seen me in your dreams" The lady says with a smirk as she stalked up to me.

"When you say it like that it sounds weird" I mumble to myself, but the lady ignores me.

"I see you have lost your powers" The lady hums as she looks me up and down...almost like she can see the aura of my powers gone.

"Am I going to get them back?" I ask as she just chuckles with a shake of her head.

"Well that really depends on you, I'm just here for guidance" The lady says with a shrug.

"And who are you exactly?" I ask as I look from her face to her attire.

"You haven't figured it out yet? Well, I guess I'd be your very, very great grandma" The lady chuckles as she starts to walk around me in a circle.

Suddenly everything comes to me at once. The lady in my dreams, the familiar looking face that reminded me of my mother...

"Amora" I whisper in realisation as I look up to see her smiling.

"I see you aren't just your looks" Amora says as I chuckle nervously.

I've never been good at taking compliments.

Amora suddenly walked up to me slowly before placing her finger on my forehead, a green glow coming from her finger as she hums in displeasure.

"Your young, your inexperienced...yet you hold a fire in you that I haven't seen in anyone" Amora whispers as she stares at me with a calculated look on her face.

"Does that mean I can get my powers back?" I ask in confusion as she just lets out a laugh.

"Oh honey, you have your powers...you've just overused them, you don't know how to control such power. Only I do" Amora says as I just look at her in confusion.

I have my powers? Overused them? None of this is making sense!

"What do you mean I overused them? They aren't working" I explain as she just shakes her head and shushes me.

"Child their not working because you won't let them work" Amora says as my mouth immediately shuts. "You don't want the responsibility of them, you don't want the danger of them, you don't want them"

"Y-your wrong. I do want them" I say as I just shake my head at her.

"Then why won't you let yourself have them" Amora asks in a whisper, a touch of pity in her tone.

I don't answer as I look down at my feet. Sure I've felt pressure with them. Maybe even a bit of fear of hurting someone? But that doesn't mean I don't want them? Does it?

"Child you have a choice. You can get your powers back. Help your friends and live a life of adventure...but also great suffering and loss. Or you could lose your powers. Live a normal life full of normal experiences...but never feel like your complete...it's your choice" Amora says with a pitiful look in my direction.

I look up to answer only to find her gone. My entire surroundings suddenly start to blur as I feel the floor beneath me start to disappear. Suddenly everything is gone as I feel myself falling into the void of nothing. I close my eyes accepting whatever is going to happen before I reopen them to find myself back in the cage with Toby and Claire.

"Y/n!" They both yell as they watch as i pant against the wall, a tear falling down my face as I quickly wipe it away.

"What the hell just happened?" Claire asks as I just shake my head.

"I saw her. I saw Amora" I mumble as i shakily stand up.

"What do you mean? Y/n what happened?" Claire asks as i just shake my head.

"We don't have time. I'm going to blast open the cage" I say in determination as I stand in front of the spikes with my hands up.

"But your powers-" Toby starts to say but i cut him off.

"I have them..." I whisper as i blankly look at the spikes.

I have a choice. A choice to lose my powers and live a normal life...but I can't do that. I cant leave my friends...my family alone. Who would look after Toby and fix his stupid mistakes? Who would entertain Claire and listen to her random rants? Who would save Jim from the bloody Darklands!? Definitely not a normal person...and I've come to realise that I'm not a normal person...I have powers for Merlin's sake!

I shakily breathe in and out before softly closing my eyes. Memories of every fun moment I've had with my friends. Pushing the trolly around the school with Toby and Claire, sleepovers with Claire, studying in the library with Blinky, the Romeo and Juliet play and dancing outside to Spanish music with Jim...and then I thought of the bad memories. Sitting alone in my house, moving houses, my dad not wanting me, watching Aaarrrgghh die, and watching Jim leave into the Darklands.

With these memories in mind I suddenly throw my hands out as a F/c blast comes out of my hand and blasts the spikes as they go flying everywhere, but I stand my ground and stare at what I just did. I get a sudden rush of power flow inside of me as a smile starts to form on my face. It worked.

"What in the egg muffins was that!?" Toby exclaims as I just laugh and shake my head.

"No time...Jim needs us" I say as I look down to Chompsky.

"Chompsky, go find Blinky and Aaarrrgghh" I order as Chompsky gives me a salute before running off.

Now...to find Jim.
