โ€”โ€”โ€” ๐— ๐—”๐—ฅ๐—ฌ ๐—œ๐—ฆ ๐—š๐—ข๐—ก๐—˜ ; and Elisa knows that she's gone. She has been for five years now and whoever killed her is out there, somewhere, because the police couldn't find any useful evidence at the scene.

All they know is that poor Mary was stabbed in the stomach ten times before her murderer sadistically smeared her blood on the pavement next to her.

โIt's what she deserved.โž

Hell no it wasn't. She was only nineteen, had a loving girlfriend and a supportive family.

How could someone be so heartless and not feel the slightest bit of guilt doing something like that?

Elisa had been wondering for ages. The thoughts had been there, even before she'd been recruited to join the Naturals.

She can remember her first day vividly:

Twelve year-old Elisa standing in the safe houses' doorway, wrapped in one of Judd's tattered flannels and hair clinging to her face like a newborn to its mother.

Dean hadn't come out of his room that day, Judd had told her that he was just a little shy, but she soon came to the realization that the guy felt threatened by her.

Up to that point, he'd been alone with Judd for the last month, he wasn't used to other kids around him and he sure as hell wasn't appreciative of them either.

It was only occasional that Elisa saw Dean's blonde head of hair either in the kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or in the library, reading up on cold case files.

When the news about Mary's death had reached her, it was like her world imploded, everything seemed worthless for a good month or so.

Mary had been Elisa's rock. Her best friend when other kids resented her for her ability to seemingly 'tell the future' when she was really just good at correctly estimating what would happen.

And now that that rock was gone, Elisa was unstable. Sure, the moment Micheal, Lia, Sloane and eventually Cassie were thrown into the bunch, she'd been happy.

But nothing could truly soothe the wound that Mary's passing had left her with. It was a scar that lasted and wouldn't go away any time soon.
