Race always had your back. You two met when Race had a big win at the track, and wanted to celebrate by buying something at a pastry shop, coincidentally where you were working. You had an instant connection to each other, and he returned to the shop every now and then, even when he couldn't afford anything, just to talk to you on your short break. He had a huge crush on you from day one, so he invited you with him one day to the Lodge, where you had a run down of the strike plans. Working for way less than minimum wage, having hardly any break times, and getting yelled at if you did anything slightly wrong, you were in. So you quit with the little money you had saved, and joined the bandwagon. This meant you were around the other newsies a lot, which came with the occasional inappropriate talk. Race hated when the other newsies would say things about you, so when he heard Bumlets-Skittery talking about you to Mush, he turned around and hit him.
