olivia sits opposite me across the long table at the end, josh sitting next to her as sofia sits next to me. i look up, seeing olivia already look at me. i give a tiny smile, and she gives one back, turning to josh as he talks to her. "how was the van ride?" sofia asks, nudging my shoulder. "oh, it was fine, it wasn't awkward." i say. "if i were you, i'd think of it as a compliment. at least she wasn't thinking of someone else." sofia says. "that's what i said!" i say, and we start laughing.

i sit in a folded chair, the name 'olivia rodrigo, nini' labelled on it. i suppose they were doing nini and ricky scenes these last few hours. i watch josh and olivia hug as the camera's pointed on them, josh lifted her up as olivia giggles. "i thought you'd be on the road back to yac right now!" josh says after he places olivia down. "oh i wanted to see the whole crew one more times, so i got a later bus, plus, i had to bring you this..." olivia says, moving a bit higher to reach josh's height. she moves closer, kissing him as she wraps one arm around his neck. they kiss her about 2 seconds, before pulling away. i look down, furrowing my eyebrows as i fiddle with my fingers. olivia never told me they had a kissing scene, i guess she didn't need to though.

olivia and josh practically spent the rest of the day together, talking even when they weren't filming. once back in the hotel, i open my suitcase, getting clean clothes as olivia lays on the bed. i go into the bathroom, taking off my clothes as i head into the shower, closing the curtain things.

after about 3 minutes, the door opens. "olivia?" i ask. "yeah, i'm just gonna brush my teeth." she says. i don't say anything back, applying conditioner to my hair as olivia's electric toothbrush starts. i walk out of the bathroom, flopping onto the bed next to olivia. my phone buzzes and i open the message.

my phone rings and nai's contact pops up. i smile, bringing it to my ear. "hi nai!" i say, fiddling with the blanket. "y/n good, i thought you'd be sleeping. i missed you so much!" nai says. "missed you more, nai nai." i say, smiling still. "how is it in salt lake?" "it's really nice, weather is amazing, just a little homesick." "when're you coming back?" "uh, whenever i guess." i reply, opening my water bottle. nai talks for a few minutes as i drink water, focusing on the story she tells.

olivia's pov

i scroll on my phone, partly listening to y/n's conversation with nai as i can just  hear what nai's saying. "so, how's you and your girlfriend?" nai says. "we're good," y/n says, smiling a little as she closes her water bottle, placing it on the bedside table. y/n stands up from the bed, walking out to the balcony as she holds the phone to her ear, closing the door behind her as she sits on the chair.

"have you guys said i love you yet?" nai asks. why's everyone asking this all of a sudden? "no," i admit, staring at the cars as they drive, them being small as we're on the 20-something level. "she's been kind of... distant lately." i say, sighing. "how?" nai asks. "ever since we got to salt lake city, we've barely been talking to each other. we haven't kissed in days!" "why?" "she's been talking to josh a lot, sometimes i don't even think she knows i'm here," i say, nai humming, "and she kissed josh today-" "WHAT?!" "no! it was for the show they're doing, but olivia didn't tell me."i say, waiting a few seconds for nai to talk. "i mean, it was for a show, it was an act." nai says. "yeah, i guess." i say, and we talk for another 20 minutes.

nai hangs up as she said she's tired, and i take a few minutes to think about everything. i open the door, walking inside as olivia looks at me, giving a slight smile as she looks back down to her phone again.

days go by, olivia talking less and less to me, if that was even possible. basically every time i look at her, she's looking or talking to josh unless we're in the hotel room. i sit on the bed, scrolling through plane times. homesick has gotta be the worst. i continue scrolling, trying to find the best deal for a reasonable price. "why're you looking at plane tickets?" olivia asks. i'm taken aback by the sudden question as we haven't had an actual conversation in forever, taking a few seconds to reply. "i was just thinking of going home." i slightly mumble, tapping on a flight ticket. "why?" she asks, moving closer to me to see my phone. "homesick, i guess." i say. "don't go, y/n." she tries to convince me. "why does it matter?" i mutter, realizing i said it out loud. "what do you mean?" she says, tone getting serious. "it's not like you talk to me anyways, we barely talk anymore." i admit. no going back, y/n. "what?! that's not true." she says, sitting up as she looks at me. "it is." "it's not." "so when was the last time we had an actual  conversation? like, one on one?" i say, putting my phone down as i look at olivia. "uh..." she says, thinking. she thinks for a few seconds, and i scoff, shaking my head. "when larry said that thing," i answer the question for her, "that was 6 days ago, olivia. you've been so focused on josh that you- " i say, olivia clenching her jaw slightly as she interrupts me. "i haven't been focusing on josh! you always make everything about him, he's not even the problem!" she starts to raise her voice. "then who's the problem, olivia?" i say, realizing i've started to raise my voice too. this isn't the way i want things to go. "i'm just gonna book a flight for tomorrow." i lower my voice, not fighting her any more as she sighs, laying back down as she turns her back to me. i pick up my phone again, buying the ticket back to la.

i finish unpacking my stuff, placing my suitcase, backpack and guitar against the wall near the door. i walk past the bed, seeing olivia with her eyes closed, blanket close to her. i turn my gaze back in front of me, walking out the balcony. after about 15 minutes, i walk back inside, closing the door quietly behind me. i lay in bed, putting the blanket on top of me. i sit up a bit, looking over olivia, making sure she still had the blanket on her. i lay back down, falling asleep after a bit.
