2 days later

olivia and i get ready for olivia's family dinner, and i get the mascara, putting some on my eyelashes. "want me to do your makeup? i'm basically ready." olivia asks. "if you want," i say, placing the mascara down. "okay, turn around," olivia says, and i turn around on the chair. olivia places both sides of her legs on the sides of mine, sitting on my lap as she leans forward to get the makeup products. i hold her waist, waiting for olivia.

she moves her face closer to mine, focusing as she brushes highlighter onto my face. "almost done." she says. "lip gloss or lipstick?" she asks. "um... lip gloss please." i decide after a few seconds. "huh?" i say in confusion as olivia applies the lip gloss on her lips instead of mine. she smiles, closing the lip gloss as she presses her lips together, spreading it on her top and bottom lips. she looks at me, moving closer as she kisses me firmly, getting the lip gloss onto my lips. we pull away, olivia giggling. "i think it worked, not gonna lie!" i say, pressing my lips together too. she gets her pointer finger, smudging her lip gloss off her lips, rubbing it on mine. "i was gonna wear lipstick," she says, making me laugh.

olivia and i walk beside each other, a little bit of fog coming out of our mouths from how cold it was outside. i open the door to the big, fancy restaurant, letting olivia in first. "hey guys!" olivia says, greeting her family, cousins, aunties and uncles involved. olivia introduces me as her girlfriend, and i hug everyone for a few seconds. we sit down beside each other at a big round table, talking to olivia's cousins, ages ranging from 5-18, as the adults sit on another table. "are you guys hungry?" i ask. "a little" "yeah!" "not really," is the responses i get. i turn to olivia on my right, making eye contact with her. "are you hungry?" i ask. "a little, you?" "yeah, a little." i reply too.

"scissors, paper, rock!" i say, doing 'scissors'. olivia's 5 year old cousin, lily, next to me, does rock, making me lose. "no!" i say, making lily laugh. "cute, isn't she?" olivia whispers into my left ear. i hum in agreement, the 2 jugs of coke arriving on the table, along with glass cups. i stand up, getting the jug. i pour coke in all the glasses, placing a glass in front of olivia and lily, getting one for me as i leave the rest on the circular table that spins in the middle. i search for olivia's hand under the white, soft table cloth and find it, squeezing her hand. "your hands are very cold, liv." i say, moving my hand around hers to try and make it warmer. "well it was cold outside," she says, smiling.

"do you guys play any instruments?" i ask the table, getting a few guitars, pianos, violins and some singers as answers. "olivia can make a whole band out of you guys!" i joke, making them laugh. olivia leans into me, cupping a hand on the side of my ear as she whispers into it. "honestly, i could consider it." she whispers, making me smile.

we finish dinner and say goodbye to olivia's family, them parting ways. "where do you wanna go for dessert?" i ask, placing my hands in my fluffy jacket pockets. "anywhere you'd like." she says, and i look around, seeing if there's any places around. "wanna look around?" i suggest. "yeah, okay..." olivia says, moving closer to me as she places one hand on my cheek. she moves her head to the right side of my cheek, kissing my cheek to leave a mark. she pulls away, giggling as she looks at the kiss mark. "can you see it?" i ask. "yeah, wait, let me take a picture." she says, taking her phone out. she aims the camera at me, taking a photo as she shows me. i laugh, looking at the photo.

olivia and i start to walk, and i hold olivia's cold hands as i place our hands inside my jacket pocket. "let me know if you wanna stop anywhere." i say, olivia saying the same thing back to me. we stop at a churro place, ordering churros with chocolate sauce as we sit down. "looks good, doesn't it?" i say. "yeah, let me take a picture of you and the churros." olivia says, taking out her phone. i move down a little, closer to the churros as i smile at the camera. olivia smiles behind the camera, taking the picture. she smiles, tapping a few things. "it's cool if i post it on my story, right?" she asks. "yeah, of course." i say, smiling.

"i've been a, throw up the, sex in the, uh huh!" olivia and i sing together along with the music coming from the car from olivia's speaker. "i could put you in..." i sing, looking at olivia as we stop as a red light. "first class!" "up in the sky!" we sing together, laughing. "jack harlow is a true masterpiece." olivia says, once the song ends. "yeah, i know right? glad he's getting recognition." i say, applying pressure on the pedal with my foot when the light turns green.

as i drive, i feel olivia place her soft hand on my cheek, smudging my cheek. "do i have something on my cheek?" i ask, keeping my eyes on the road. "no, the kiss mark is a little smudged, i'm just making it neater." olivia says softly, taking her hand away.

after olivia and i get ready for bed, i play the guitar as olivia sits on the bed beside me, leaning her composition book on her legs. we sit in silence but not silence as the only thing you could hear was my guitar. i smile softly at milo on his bed on the floor sleeping, picking up my phone. i lean my chin on the guitar as i scroll on instagram, hearing soft hums of olivia trying to figure out a melody i suppose.

after a few minutes of scrolling through instagram, i open twitter, reading a tweet that catches my eye. "NEW : y/n and olivia having dinner with olivia's family tonight!" the tweet read. i tap the video, seeing a view from a person about 2 tables away from us, zooming in a little to capture olivia and i. in the 5 second video, it shows the moment i hold olivia's name under the table, squeezing it in attempt to make it warmer as we talk to each other. i tap out of the video, reading the replies as it had almost 5k likes. "y/n meeting olivia's family i'm in love" "i want this relationship in my life" "private but not secret i love it"

i turn off my phone, standing up to put my guitar back as olivia's eyes are glued on her book. i lay back next to her, shuffling my head under her book as she slightly lifts it up. i lay my head on her chest, closing my eyes as i draw my attention to olivia's breathing, her chest rising and falling with every breath.

after about an hour, i almost doze off, but olivia shuffles around, and i hear her book drop onto the bedside table. "sorry. i didn't mean to drop it that aggressively," olivia softly says. "it's okay," i mumble tiredly, closing my eyes. "y/n, i need to turn the light off," she says. i roll off olivia, making her chuckle as she stands up, turning the light off and laying back down. olivia holds my waist and lifts me up, placing me on top of her. i wrap my arms around her waist, sinking into olivia. "goodnight, baby." liv whispers, kissing my head reassuringly. "goodnight, my love."
