when the werewolves first came to seabrook high, y/n was suspicious of them. not because they were werewolves and they were dangerous, no she didn't care about that. she was suspicious of them because of how much they hung around addison. more specifically how much wyatt hung around addison.

y/n wasn't jealous or anything like that (ok maybe she was a little jealous) but her and addison were best friends. addison was the only other girl in seabrook that had white hair just like y/n. the only difference was that y/n never hid hers, she never really cared about fitting in. addison had just started getting comfortable with revealing her hair to the world. so you could understand why y/n would be a bit suspicious and overprotective.

y/n and addison were in the library studying when wyatt came in and sat down at your table. addison was the first to speak.

"hey wyatt."

"hi addison, y/n." he greeted. y/n rolled her eyes, not even looking up from her notebook. wyatt leaned over the table to addison.

"why doesn't y/n like me?" he asked.

"i think that she just thinks that you are dangerous."

"that's not why." y/n interjected, still not looking up from her notes. wyatt moved away from addison and closer to y/n.

"then why?" wyatt asked with a sigh. y/n continued to ignore him.

"ok fine, how about this? you meet me at the park later and we can talk about why you hate me so much." that caused y/n to finally look up. she thought about it for a second and sighed.

"yeah ok sure."

"cool, it's a date." wyatt said happily before saying bye to addison and leaving the library.

after school that day y/n went home, changed into a pair of jeans and a tank top and told her parents that she was going to get froyo with zed, eliza, and bonzo. she knows that she shouldn't have lied but y/n's parents were more comfortable with zombies than werewolves so she decided not to mention wyatt. y/n grabbed her jacket and her keys and headed to the park.

y/n sat on a bench near the lake in the park and she waited. and she waited. and she waited. y/n ended up sitting there for an hour waiting for wyatt. it just made her hate wyatt even more. ok wait, actually y/n didn't hate wyatt at all, she actually thought that he was great and really cute but forget about that. y/n sighed and stood up from the bench. she started to leave the park but she heard a bunch of yells coming from the lake.

it was starting to get dark and y/n knew her parents would worry, but someone was in danger. she ran towards the lake and found a young girl floundering in the water, struggling to stay afloat. she was no older than 5 or 6 years old, the child was close enough to shore that y/n didn't have to jump into the water but far enough that she would have to wade into the lake. y/n went into the water, grabbed the child and came back out of the water. she quickly sat the kid on the ground and the child started coughing and shivering excessively.

y/n quickly took her jacket off and wrapped around the young girl's shoulders.

"are you ok?" y/n asked carefully. she didn't want to scare the little girl. the girl analyzed y/n before answering.

"yeah i'm ok. what's your name?"

"i'm y/n. what's your name?" y/n answered with a soft smile.

"my name is willow."

y/n decided that she wouldn't ask the girl what happened because she might be too shaken up so she asked her where her parents were. as it turns out, willow was a werewolf, a cub. so y/n told willow that she would take her back home. together, with willow's helpful instruction, y/n found the werewolf den. however, by the time she got there, willow had fallen asleep in her arms. she walked into the den to find that it was empty.

'so now what?' y/n thought to herself.

"hello? anyone here?" y/n called out. her voice echoed off the walls.

she knew that she would have to something else to get the attention off the werewolves. she would have to howl. y/n breathed in deeply, closed her eyes, and howled as loud as she possibly could. when she opened her eyes y/n found herself surrounded by the entire pack of werewolves. their eyes were glowing and they were all growling, ready to attack. y/n wasn't scared though, she didn't even flinch. she held her head high and stared back at them.

"where's willa?" y/n asked rigidly.

the wolves moved in even closer, readying themselves to attack when willa pushed through the crowd of werewolves with her brother right behind her. willa dismissed the other werewolves telling them that you weren't a threat

"y/n? what are you doing here?" wyatt asked.

"well when you stood me up, i was leaving and this little one was drowning in the lake so i pulled her out and brought her here." y/n explained.

willa looked at wyatt and sighed before looking back at y/n.

"thank you so much y/n, not a lot of people would do that."

"no problem, willa."

y/n handed the sleeping cub to willa and she walked away with her leaving wyatt and y/n alone together. y/n was angry at him but as soon as she looked in his eyes it all melted away.

"look y/n, i'm so sorry. i didn't mean to stand you up. i was helping willa and i lost track of time and i ju-"

"wyatt, its ok. i'm not mad. you were helping your sister so I'll give you a pass." y/n relented.

"its getting kind of late. let me walk you home." wyatt insisted. y/n thought about it for a second before answering.

"ok."

together wyatt and y/n walked through the forest in silence. the sun was setting and it was getting kind of cold. y/n had left her jacket with willow and she was wearing a tank top so every time a breeze hit her skin she would shiver slightly. wyatt noticed. he took off his jacket and wrapped it around y/n's shoulders. she looked over at him and smiled.

"thanks." y/n said.

"no problem." wyatt paused and then grinned. "so why do you hate me so much?"

y/n rolled her eyes and huffed through her lips.

"i don't hate you wyatt, i actually like you ... a lot. i'm just really protective of addison. she's like my younger sister. i couldn't let anything happen to her."

"wait a second? you like me?" wyatt asked with a grin on his face. "for real?"

"yeah, yeah you don't need to rub it in." y/n said as she smiled at him.

"oh no. don't get me wrong, i like you too."

"oh really?" y/n chided. "then maybe you can take me out on a actual date tomorrow night?"

wyatt smiled even wider. "oh yeah definitely. tomorrow after school."

y/n smiled at him and linked her arm with his as they continued to walk to her house. y/n and wyatt were so absorbed in conversation that they didn't even realize that they were standing in front of y/n's house.

"well this is my stop," y/n smiled as she walked towards her front door. "thanks for walking me home."

y/n awkwardly held out her hand for wyatt to shake. wyatt took her hand and pulled her into a kiss. it was like sparks were flying through them, y/n was surprised at first but she slowly melted into it. y/n pulled away slowly and her eyes fluttered open. she slowly let go of wyatt's hand and walked through her front door.

"bye wyatt, i'll see you tomorrow." y/n gushed before waving at him and closing the door. she sighed happily and made her way up to her room. when she walked in she found addison sitting on her bed, playing a game on her phone.

'i forgot about the sleep over. dammit.' y/n thought to herself.

"hey addison."

addison looked up from her phone and examined y/n.

"is that wyatt's jacket?" addison asked with a smirk on her face.

"pfft, noooo."
