you and mason are on the way to the airport, dropping him off for his flight to london to film how to train your dragon. the uber driver was driving while you and mason were sitting in the backseat.

"i'm gonna miss you" you move closer to him, sniffling and laying your head on his lap. "i know baby, i'm gonna miss you more. i'll be back before you know it okay?" mason moves your hair behind your ear, using his other hand to gently rub your back.

"you're just gonna be really far away, i'm scared you're gonna find someone you like more than me in london. i don't want to lose you" you cry into his lap. his heart sinks at hearing how upset you are. "i promise it's always been you. i could never find someone else okay? you have nothing to worry about. i'll call you everyday and you can tell me about your day"

you softly smile, sitting up and laying your head on his shoulder. mason puts his hand on your thigh and you sit in a comfortable silence, listening to the radio in the car.

around 25 minutes later, you and mason arrive at the airport. (literally i have no idea how airports work so pls bare w me😭😭)

mason put his stuff through security and then waited at the gate, waiting for his plane. you were holding onto his hand tight, holding back tears. mason notices, letting go of your hand and wrapping his arm around your waist, kissing your head.

"you're gonna do great mase" you smile up at him, making him grin, "i wouldn't have been able to do this if it wasn't for you. i love you" masons eyes get teary and you hug him, burying your face into his chest. "i love you too" you mumble into his chest, leaning up to kiss his cheek. he smiles and leans his head on yours, eventually pulling away.

an automated voice comes over the speaker, "20 minutes until takeoff, please get ready to board your planes"

you try to hold back your tears while telling mason goodbye, but it completely fails. "i'll see you soon okay baby? i promise this time will go quick. i love you so much, i'm gonna miss you" he hugs you tight, gently swaying you back and forth and placing multiple kisses on the top of your head.

"you're gonna do so great. i'm so ready to see you in this movie mase. i love you" you smile as mason wipes your tears, but they just continue coming.

"15 minutes until take off, please get ready to board your planes" the voice comes back on the speaker. mason pulls you in for a kiss, cradling your cheek. you finally break the kiss as he pulls you in one last time for a hug and slightly lifts you off the ground, making you laugh.

"i love you" you smile, pulling away so he can grab his stuff. "i love you more" mason grabs his suitcase, walking towards the flight attendant. he turns around and smiles right before he gets to the entrance, you smiling back.

you leave the airport, crying all the way back home.

but, it made you feel better knowing mason kept his promise. mason called and texted you everyday, updating you on everything and asking you about your day. he even sent food or flowers to your door on days you had it particularly rough.
