โฐโด The Jacket

"- After this, you're getting punched in the face."

โ˜†    NESRIN POTTER was sure that her brother James Potter just existed to ruin her life.

James Potter was sure he was just being a good brother and protecting his baby sister.

Both had their own views, but on that particular day, Nesrin was right.

James smiled like a maniac, dumping a whole container of fireworks into Leonard Dexter's coat, and casting a waiting charm on it with a reluctant Remus and an excited Sirius and. . . well, a Peter who blindly followed him in whatever he did.

Remus was reluctant to prank Leonard. He hadn't done anything wrong. Just asked Rin on a date.

He was like a brother to Rin too, and was protective of her, and was there to comfort her if she ever needed it, but he would never go as far as to hurt her date.

"Do you think a red dress would be nice? To match with my lipstick and show Gryffindor pride, or a yellow dress for his house colour?" Rin asked Dorcas and Lily has she slathered on a few layers of her usual red lipstick.

    "Red dress. For sure."

    "Alright! Now, which jacket?"

"Don't wear a jacket!" Dorcas grinned, but sighed at the confused looks given to her by the other two, "I mean, if you don't wear a jacket and it gets cold, then Leonard will give you his jacket to wear! That would be so romantic!"

Rin laughed. "Well, yes, that does sound nice, but you're forgetting one thing, Dorkie! We have magic! He could just cast a heating charm on me!"

Dorcas made a face. "Try to be optimistic!"

The walk to The Three Broomsticks that day was thrilling for Nesrin Potter, and in her opinion, should've lasted longer, for the warmth of Leonard Dexter's arm around her felt wonderful.

    Though the Marauders may disagree.

James was being a bigger prat than usual, trying to stuff all of his disgruntled friends under his invisibility cloak, and dragging them all along to follow his sister on her date.

"James, after this, you're getting punched in the face." Remus Lupin stated, settling into a booth at the Three Broomsticks with his friends.

"Sure. Whatever." James said; too busy spying on her sister and her date discreetly to hear him.

They were sitting at a booth was chosen by James, so that they could have a clear view of Rin, without her spotting them.

"I'm glad you agreed for a date with me, Rin."

Rin flushed, bringing her mug of Butterbeer to her mouth to hide it. "I am too."

Leonard smiled at her. "I'm surprised that your brother didn't come barging in on our date and hex me."

Rin laughed lightly. "Oh, James is way too protective of me, but I don't think he would spoil my date, or hurt you, or anything drastic like that."

"Stop whining Sirius!" James hissed, shoving his head back under the invisibility cloak.

It had been a few moments since Nesrin and Leonard had left the pub, and now walking aimlessly around Hogsmead, with the Marauders still stalking them.

Rin then deliberately fake- shivered, rubbing her arms up and down her forearms, too see what Leonard might do.

Leonard smiled at her. "Here. Take my Jacket."

    Rin put the jacket on.

And then everything happened all at once.

There was a shout of 'no' coming out of nowhere, fireworks exploding the jacket, it burning Rin in the process, a loud scream, a 'bloody Merlin!' a string of curse words and then finally, a sheepish looking James standing in front of the other marauders.

"Nesrin! My darling sister! You look lovely! Is it your hair? Love your dress-"

James had intended to ease his scolding a bit by complementing his sister, but he failed to realise that maybe 'complementing' her singed hair and burnt clothes might be a bad idea.

"Shut up!" Nesrin snapped, growing redder by each passing word. "What is wrong with you James?!" She cried. "I just wanted one day. Just one bloody day when you don't ruin my life! But nooo the amazing James Potter can do anything, whenever he wants, without any regards for the feelings of others! What did Leonard ever do to you? Huh? What. Did he ever do to you?!" She screeched when James stayed silent.

"I can't even look at you right now, James. I'm so disappointed in you! Maybe we'll talk after I've calmed down, and after you apologise sincerely. But for now, go."

    James hesitated.

    "I said, go!"

James nodded swiftly and walked away, his mates slowly walking after him with uneasy looks at each other.

"What?" Rin snapped, seeing the Black standing still, staring at her face.

"You've got soot on your face. Just there. Here, let me get it for you" He said, when Rin failed to get the spot, and wiped it of with his thumb.

"Um, right. Thanks" Rin turned and walked away with Leonard.

Sirius smiled slightly, running up to catch up to his friends.
