"Not very clever, but very cool!"
Sam and Katy slipped into the teachers lounge, giggling at his impressions as per usual when they saw Rachel slumped down on one of the chairs, with her head in her hands. Frowning at each other, the two knew something was wrong and sat down next to her with sympathetic smiles.
"Morning!" Katy started cheerfully, in the hopes of her presence instantly making Rachel's day and frowning when it failed, "what's wrong?"
"You still upset about getting egged?" Sam asked, lifting an eyebrow slightly, talking about the other day when he, Rachel, Katy and Blaine were egged by Vocal Adrenaline when going to their cars.
"They have a problem with egging people." Katy thought aloud, furrowing her eyebrows.
Shaking her head, Rachel moved her eyes to look directly at them, "no, I'm not still upset about being egged."
"Guess you already knew what it felt like." Katy reasoned with a wide shrug.
"Something much worse than being egged has happened." Rachel mumbled dramatically, leaning in towards the couple and beckoning for them to do the same as they listened, "early this morning, I was fast asleep and I was having the most amazing dream that I was on Broadway and there was all this pudding. And I woke up to this pounding. At first I just thought it was a really big woodpecker or one of the neighbours was installing an in-ground pool, but then I saw what it was. My dads sold our house!"
"Wait, isn't that a good thing?" Katy questioned, exchanging a quick look with Sam, "you said it's been on the market for a while now and every time they had an offer, the buyer backed out last minute."
"Yes! That's because I was sabotaging it!" Rachel burst out, telling them a few stories of how she'd managed to scare away potential buyers of her house.
Full of disbelief, Sam closed his jaw and widened his eyes, "Rachel, that's insane."
"Even for your standards." Katy added, more shocked than she should've been by a Rachel Berry scheme.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, Rachel let her head fall back into her hands as she stared at the floor sadly, "this is the only house I've ever known, it's the house I grew up in and I just really hate the fact that in a couple of days, it'll be someone else's."
Calmly putting her in her place, Sam put a hand forward to comfort her, speaking slowly, "Listen, as someone who sometimes didn't have any home at all-"
He was quickly cut off by Rachel jumping out of her chair and squeezed her eyes shut to block his voice out, "uh- mmhm! Mhmm! No way! I'm not going to let you guilt me into going along with this because you were once homeless. I'm sorry, but that has nothing to do with this!" Thrown off slightly by the way the couple raised their eyebrows at the same time, Rachel continued to shake her head faster as she sighed, "I just-I'm not ready to say goodbye, and I'll be damned if I let my dads go through with this."
Looking to each other once again as Rachel stormed out the room to gather her thoughts, a small smirk grew on both of their faces as they came up with an idea, "move over Mercedes, cause Sam and Katy are gonna show you what real mentors look like." Sam giggled jokingly, holding his fist out and letting Katy bump it enthusiastically.

With all their friends on board, Sam and Katy's plan was underway as Rachel began to start the weekly lesson, unknown to the different lesson that was about to be thrown her way.
Beginning with her usual, cheerful smile, Rachel paraded into the choir room with Blaine, Sam, Kurt and Katy trailing behind her, "okay you guys! Let's get started on this weeks lesson! It's called buckeye bullseyes, featuring all artists from Ohio. Marilyn Manson and Dean Martin and-"
She was cut off by Kurt loudly intervening, walking over to the whiteboard, "actually, Rachel, there's been a slight change in plans."
Swivelling round quickly, Rachel widened her eyes at him in panic, "Kurt, you can't just change the lesson like that!" She hissed.
"Well sometimes life throws you a curveball and that's why this weeks new and improved lesson is..." Kurt announced, pushing away the whiteboard to reveal another whiteboard behind it, with 'transitioning' written on it with a few doodles around it, "transitioning! Changing, charging forward."
"Rachel, it's come to our attention that you're having some trouble with saying goodbye to your childhood home. Which is forcing you to say goodbye to your childhood and accept adulthood." Katy explained gently, sitting Rachel down in the spinny chair and letting Sam and Blaine wheel her over to where the new directions were sat.
"Or at least that's what's happening according to the very nice lady at the Lima mental health clinic." Blaine mumbled.
"So to help Rachel with this transition, we're throwing her a 'farewell to Rachel's house' party and everyone's invited." Sam told them excitedly, "it's going to be Friday night in Rachel's basement."
Shooting her hand up into the air, Madison frowned deeply as she thought over the lesson that was just given, "so this lesson isn't for us?" She asked stiffly.
"It's for Rachel?" Her brother added, skeptically.
Not even turning round to look at them, Kitty lifted a single finger to silence them, "yeah, so shut up."
"Fetch me my wheel!" Artie demanded dramatically, making Sam and Blaine run to the side of the room and collect a large rainbow coloured wheel with everyone's names on, "welcome to the wheel of musical fortune! Everyone spins and whoever's name you land on, you have to sing a duet with them at the party."
"Can't we just pick names out of a hat?" Spencer called out, earning himself a dangerous glare from Artie and backing up in surrender.
"Don't diss the wheel, dude." Katy whispered up to him, eyes widened in fear, "been there, done that."
Standing up, Mercedes made her way towards the wheel and patted Artie on the back to stop him from glaring at anyone who dissed his wheel, "I'll go first. Luck be a lady tonight!"
The wheel landed on Roderick, who beamed excitedly at the thought, waving awkwardly as he had to reintroduce himself to her. Smiling back at him, Mercedes shook off her doubts with a shake of her hand, "this is gonna be great, you're great."
"Okay my turn!" Kurt declared, continuing on with the partnering. He spun the wheel, watching intently as the names clicked over the arrow, slowing towards Artie and Blaine's names. The group were sure that it was going to land on Artie's name, until Kurt discreetly gave the wheel a push so it would land on Blaine's. Looking forward with a straight face, he shrugged his shoulders as casually as possible, "oh, huh."
Diffusing the awkward tension in the room, Katy jumped up from her seat and eagerly spun the wheel. Crossing her fingers Kitty's way, they watched it spin straight past her name and land on Sam's. Huffing, Kitty slumped back into her chair and crossed her arms across her chest, mumbling to herself disappointedly. Smiling over at Sam and giving him a quick wink, Katy sat back down next to the pouting blonde and leaned back to whisper in her ear as Artie's spin landed on her, "we'll get them to swap with us."
"Totally." Kitty agreed, the corners of her mouth turning up as they continued to plot their duet through whispers.

The 'farewell to Rachel's house' party had started with Mercedes and Roderick's duet of Meghan Trainor's 'All About That Bass.'
With everyone else occupied with dancing to the song, Rachel approached Katy at the bar, where she was chatting to Sam, and gave her a small tap on the shoulder to grab her attention. Waving a quick goodbye to her fiancรฉe, Katy followed her upstairs to a room she recognised to be Rachel's childhood bedroom.
Smiling fondly, Katy gazed around the room and even with all the furniture in boxes, she could easily recognise the room that they spent many nights dancing and singing in, "it hasn't changed a bit." She chuckled.
"Nope." Rachel shook her head quietly as they went over to look at the one remaining thing in her bedroom, her photo wall.
Pointing out one photo, Katy laughed loudly as she carefully took it from the wall, "god, is that from Rocky Horror? No wonder I fell in love with him."
"I think Finn looked just as good in his tighty whities." She giggled softly, pointing to the guy that she loved, stood next to Sam in the photo.
After a moment of silence as their eyes travelled over the wall, Katy turned to her best friend and shook her shoulders, "you can't do it can you? I mean, everything else is boxed up, but you haven't touched this wall."
"All my best memories from high school are on that wall." Rachel told her through a sigh as she sat down on her bed, "my whole childhood I just spent in this room, singing and dancing, all alone with pictures of Barbara Streisand and Bernadette Peters, but then I met you guys and the wall started to fill up with real friends and real dreams. I don't know, everything just seemed so clear in high school, and I'm just supposed to pack it all up?"
"We're gonna need a bigger wall." Katy shrugged, sitting down on the bed next to her.
Thinking it over slightly as she guessed that she must've been referencing something, Rachel squinted, "umm- Star Wars?"
"No! Jaws! Seriously Rach?" Katy teased slightly, giving her a gentle shove.
Looking up at the wall again, Rachel smiled affectionately, "you know, you were the first real friend on that wall."
"No way!" Katy beamed proudly, "what an honour!"
"Seriously, you were the first person in that glee club, in that school actually, to stand up and say, 'I'm happy to be her friend' without being the least bit ashamed or sarcastic. And that means a lot to me, it always will." She told her genuinely, leaning her head against Katy's shoulder as they looked up at the wall.
Smiling back at her, Katy wrapped an arm over her shoulder and hugged her happily, "it was a choice I'm glad I made. You may sometimes be completely insane but I love you."
"I love you too." Rachel grinned.
"Listen, the wall doesn't go away, and neither do the memories or the friends on it. The wall just gets bigger and wherever you go, it'll go too."
Nodding back at her, Rachel sprung off of her bed, holding her hands out to pull Katy right up after her, "come on before anyone gets suspicious that we're hooking up."
"Sam would love that." Katy giggled, taking her hands and skipping back towards the door.
Rolling her eyes playfully, Rachel scrunched up her nose at the idea, "you're not really my type if I'm honest."
"Not blonde enough?" Katy teased bouncing down the stairs.
Rolling her eyes once again, Rachel readjusted herself to the loud music, talking over Kurt and Blaine's duet of 'Somebody Loves You', "come on, you're up next with Sam."
"Actually I'm singing with Kitty." Katy told her with a sly smile, "we told Artie and Sam we'd buy them breadstix if we swapped partners." She shrugged, eyes glittering as she noticed the fancy dress costumes, "ooh! Are those fairy wings?"

After singing 'Fantasy' by Mariah Carey with Kitty, it had come to Katy's attention that Blaine wouldn't be staying at the party much longer and she rushed over to whisper her idea in his ear. As he agreed eagerly, the pair giggled childishly as they spoke into the microphones, grabbing everyone's attention.
"Um, hi!" Katy started, waving around awkwardly, "Last time we had a party in Rachel's basement, we were completely hammered and and Mr Blaine Anderson and I, decided to do something not very clever, but very cool."
Seeing where this was going, Sam put his head in his hands, mumbling to himself, "oh no."
"It was very, very cool." Blaine assured them, "and today we're gonna recreate it and see if we can do any better older and sober."
"We figured that if this was how Rachel's house was introduced to her friends, then it should be how we say goodbye to it." Katy added.
"So if you could all stand way back and hit it Artie!" He finished, chest bumping Katy excitedly at they ran off of the little stage to prepare.
'I've Had The Time Of My Life' came through the speakers and whilst waiting for the moment, Blaine took off his jacket and Katy took off her heels, handing them to Rachel. When the moment came, Katy launched herself at Blaine, who tried his best to lift her up but failed, dropping her into Sam's arms.
Giggling up at him, she and Blaine laughed loudly, "well I guess we aren't any better sober."
"No, I think you're probably worse if that's possible." Sam joked, chuckling as she pouted back at him and they plopped themselves down on the couch.
"Well we tried, right Blaine?" She called over to her best friend, waving him goodbye as he set out to leave with Kurt.
Waving back at her, Blaine finger gunned at her confidently, "you know it dude!"
Shaking his head affectionately, Sam wrapped his arm around her shoulder to pull her closer to him, "you're a handful, you are, hon."
"And you're not?" She retaliated, cocking her eyebrow up teasingly.
"Nope, not at all." Sam smirked, as the next duet started before she could retort. He placed a kiss against her temple as she glared up at him, watching with a grin as she couldn't stop herself from breaking into a smile, leaning her head back against his shoulder.
"You're annoying." She whispered through her smile, giving him a light smack on the chest as he chuckled, muttering impressions under his breathe whilst the second ever Rachel Berry party continued in full swing.
