"It's just a see you later, okay?"
The new directions were sat watching the five original members of the glee club redo their first ever number, 'sit down you're rocking the boat' trying their best not to burst out into laughter at the shambles of the first glee club song ever performed in the choir room.
As they finished, the rest of the glee club clapped, giggling slightly at what they'd just seen.
"That was the most ghetto number I've ever seen." Santana admitted through a laugh.
"Then call me George Jefferson, because we went from the ghetto to the penthouse, nationals champs baby!" Artie beamed proudly, not at all phased by Santana's comment.
Mr Schue entered the room, smiling sadly at the memories that he'd just watched, writing 'goodbye' clearly on the whiteboard.
The room went quiet, with only a few deep sighs echoing around. One from Katy, she wasn't sure if she was ready to say goodbye to this glee club, any of them, she didn't know if she'd ever be ready. Katy hated goodbyes, she thought it was because she wasn't very good at hellos but this was different, her closest friends were leaving her and words couldn't describe how much she was going to miss them.
"This week's assignment is easy." Mr Schue sighed, addressing the group who were sat quietly, "graduation is only a few days away, there's nothing left to prepare for. Our work here is done so we only have one thing left to do: say goodbye."
Katy sighed sadly, leaning her head onto Brittany's shoulder and reaching down for Quinn's hand.
"Underclassmen, pick some songs to say goodbye to the seniors, seniors, pick some songs to say goodbye to us." Mr Schue explained.
"Part of me wants to look these doors and stay in here with everyone forever." Mercedes groaned.
"I'd like that a lot." Katy agreed, biting the inside of her cheek.
"We could use the wastebasket as a toilet and then we could eat Joe for the food because she's the newest and we know her the least." Brittany added in her admirable way of always finding a solution.
Mr Schue just smiled at her, feeling too emotional to say anything and picked up his guitar as he sat down.
"I really hope you're about to rap." Quinn giggled slightly, lightening the mood.
"No such luck." Mr Schue chuckled, "I'm leading by example here, this one is for you guys."

Katy looked around the room to see a group of sixteen faces just like hers, eyes full of tears, Katy dug into her pocket, bringing out a packet of tissues and handing one to Rachel and Quinn.
"I have a feeling I'll be crying a lot this week." She muttered, smiling sadly as she dried her eyes. Brittany instantly pulled her into a hug, which was quickly joined by Santana who rubbed her back comfortingly.

After a week filled with goodbyes, Katy was faced with one goodbye she never wanted to happen.
"Okay I'm here!" Katy announced as she strolled into the auditorium to meet her best friend.
"You ready for this Kat?" Mike asked, clearly excited about something.
"For you leaving? Never." Katy scoffed slightly, trying her best to smile.
"I have big news, and you're the first person to know, even before Tina and my parents." Mike announced, taking her hands and squeezing them as she approached him.
Katy nodded for him to go on, grinning excitedly.
"I got into Joffrey in Chicago! They offered me a scholarship!" He burst out, thrilled.
Katy gasped, feeling extremely proud and excited for Mike, throwing her arms around him, squealing excitedly as he lifted her off the ground slightly, happy for her support.
"Oh my god Mike! That's incredible! I'm so proud of you!" She exclaimed, both of them beaming as they pulled apart.
"Thank you, I'm so excited!" Mike sighed happily.
"I bet you are! You're gonna be a star Mike, I can see it now, Mike Chang, dance extraordinaire, star choreographer!" Katy giggled delightedly, holding her hand up as if she was seeing his name up in lights, "and I'll be able to say he was my high school best friend."
"You'll always be my best friend Katy, this hand shake is a bond for life." Mike smiled as they did their special handshake, laughing.
"No one will replace you Micheal." Katy sighed, hugging him again, "now I want one last dance together before you leave to dance with beautiful, talented superstars like yourself."
Mike beamed, happily obliging to her request, "this won't be our last dance together, I can guarantee."
Katy smiled contentedly as he held out his hand for her to take as they picked out a song for their last dance.
Katy was emotional again by the end of the dance, leaning her head into Mike's shoulder as they swayed on the spot, hugging each other.
"You find a new dance partner next year and I will cry." Mike sighed, tightening his grip on their hug.
"I highly doubt I'll find a dance partner as cool as you. Even if I have a mystery brother that appears out of nowhere who can dance, he'll have nothing on you dude." Katy grinned, laughing at herself slightly, "I hate that I'm having to say goodbye to you."
"It will never be goodbye Kat, it's just a see you later okay?"

For the next glee rehearsal, the underclassmen had prepared a song that they were going to sing together for the seniors after their amazing song they'd sang for them.
"Okay, seniors, the underclassmen have something they'd like to say to you." Mr Schue said.
The younger members of glee club all made their way out of their seats and onto stools at the front. Katy gripped onto Sam's hand as they went, sighing deeply to compose her emotions.
Being the most calm at the time, the underclassmen has nominated Artie to be their spokesperson, "With all the dedications going around Mckinley this week, there was one we wanted to make sure didn't get missed, Finn."
Finn looked up, grinning slightly, the shock and joy evident in his face as he smiled at them.
"Right now you're something I never thought possible, my friend, our friend. Even before glee club was kinda cool, you had our backs. You were on the football team, you were one of the most popular kids in school, you had a lot to loose, and people forget the sacrifices you made. So we wanted to thank you." Artie smiled genuinely, all of them grinning at Finn, whose expression softened affectionately as the music started.
(song- in my life, sang by Sam, Katy, Tina and the underclassmen new directions)
Katy and Tina had their hands in each other's, tears streaming down their faces as they sung, smiling at their older friends, who were seemingly just as emotional as them.
Finn seemed over the moon with his little musical dedication, immediately standing up to give Artie a hug, moving between all of them and hugging them all.
Katy quickly embraced Rachel, sighing into her shoulder, noticing her brother looking slightly sad out of the corner of her eye and watched as Quinn's vision went from the group to him, frowning as an idea clearly brewed in her head.

The seniors and Katy were stood outside Puck's geography classroom, pacing nervously as Puck's fate was about to be announced.
"What's going on?" Quinn asked quickly, rushing over as she saw the group of her friends.
"Waiting for Mrs Duesenberry to finish grading my test." Puck explained bluntly, out of nerves, "if I don't pass it's open season on all faculty tyres!"
Finn and Katy were both quick to quieten Puck, shushing him as they saw Mrs Duesenberry come to the door with his test firmly in her hands.
With a deep breathe, Puck quickly snatched the paper holding it to his chest so no one else could see it but him.
Katy took Finn's hand nervously, "what does it say?"
Puck turned round, a huge grin appearing on his face as he held his test up high, full of pride, "it's a C-! It's a Puckerman A+! I'm graduating!"
The group cheered excitedly, Quinn beating Katy to throwing her arms around Puck.
Once the cheering group had gradually faded away, Katy held Puck back, pulling him over to the lockers.
"Here. Your graduation present." She smiled, handing him an envelope.
Puck grinned, a slightly confused look on his face as he opened up the envelope his sister had just given him.
His eyes widened as he saw what was inside and his whole face lit up, "woah sis, there's like a hundred bucks in here! How'd you get this money?"
Katy shrugged lightly, "remember that summer job I had as a waitress? I saved up extra tips that I knew I was gonna give to you. I know it's might not be enough to get much in LA, but save it, you might need it someday." She smiled, letting Puck pull her in for a hug.
"Thanks little red," he sighed, resting his head on her shoulder.
"And this." Katy said, passing him a dinosaur key chain that matched hers,
"Your dino key chain?" Puck asked, raising his eyebrow slightly.
"Yeah, the puckersaurus remember? Put it on your car keys, so you never forget your favorite little sister." Katy explained.
"I don't think I'll forget my own favorite sister." He laughed, pouting at her slightly.
"You're the last goodbye on my list. Just as I think I've gotten all my tears out another wave just keeps on coming." Katy laughed weakly, "I sang 'thank you for the music' to Rachel earlier and I swear I only got out two words before bursting into tears."
Puck chuckled, placing a soft kiss on her temple, "I'm gonna miss you so much sis."
"I'm gonna miss you more, but I'll be okay, I've got Sam." Katy smiled reassuringly, though she wasn't fully sure whether she was trying to reassure him, or herself as he pouted at her.
"No funny business while I'm not here okay? I don't want Artie calling me up to say he's just caught you going at it in the janitors closet. He's promised to keep an eye on you for me." Puck told her, making her laugh slightly at his accusation.
"Okay, okay! As long as you promise to answer my calls. I'll call you once a week at least." Katy said, raising her eyebrow slightly at him as he nodded in agreement.
"Promise. I still have a couple of days at home, we'll persuade mom to watch something with us one last time and then we'll really be okay to say goodbye." He grinned, putting an arm around her as he mentally prepared to leave his little sister for the first time in his life.
Katy sighed, not really prepared to be left by any of them, especially her brother, who'd protected her and been right next to her practically all her life.
"I'm so proud of you." She added finally, as he showed her his graduation gown and cap, ready for the big moment.

The glee club were at the train station, ready to wave Rachel off to New York to pursue her dreams.
Katy, Sam, Mike and Tina were using the time waiting for her to arrive to make the most of the time they had left to mess around, Katy and Tina teasing the boys with the memory of the Justin Bieber experience.
"You're never gonna let us forget that are you?" Mike laughed, rubbing his palms into his eyes.
"Never!" Tina and Katy chorused, flipping their pony tails over their forehead again, swishing their fake Bieber fringe, exaggeratedly.
"You loved it! Why else would we have dressed as a twelve year old and danced for you guys?" Sam defended,
"Because, and I quote, 'because he's clearly a mini god'!" Katy burst out into laughter, squealing as Sam gave her a gently shove into Tina.
"Shut up!" Mike and Sam chorused, laughing as the girls continued to imitate them, affectionately.
"Katy, Tina, stop messing around, Rachel's coming!" Mr Schue scolded them, pointing over to where Rachel and Finn were approaching them.
"He always catches us right at the wrong moment!" Katy scowled, internally cursing Mr Schue, who never seemed to appreciate her having fun.
As soon as Katy caught a glimpse of Rachel's tear stained face, her emotions started to kick in again, placing her hand into Sam's squeezing it gently.
After saying her goodbyes to most of the glee club, Rachel turned to Katy. Katy let out a little whimper, throwing herself into Rachel's arms as her tears began to fall.
"Please don't forget me Rach." She whispered shakily, making Rachel tighten her grip on her first best friend.
"How could I forget the first person to really love me?" Rachel sniffed, breaking the hug to look at Katy, both of them smiling at each other.
"You made it Rach." Katy sighed proudly, giving Rachel's hand one last squeeze before letting her move onto Kurt and Finn, falling back into Sam's arms.
Sam reached over her shoulders, wrapping his arms around her in a comforting hug as they watched Rachel get on the train.
Emotions ran high as the glee club waved Rachel off to New York, everyone extremely proud of her but knowing they'd have to repeat the emotional process all over again when they had to say goodbye to the next new directioner reaching out to the world for their own well deserved taste of success.
"That was hard, I don't know how I'm gonna say goodbye to anymore of these guys." Katy sighed, as the train zoomed out of sight.
"Yeah, but we'll do it together okay?" Sam smiled reassuringly, placing a soft kiss on her temple.
"We'll all do it together, us glee babies gotta stick together, right?" Blaine added, with a grinning Tina, Artie, Joe and Sugar right behind him.
"Yeah, we will." Katy sighed, happily as the group put their arms around each other in a big group hug, slowly becoming ready for the big year ahead of them.
