"lovers fight to the death to protect each other"

Everyone made their way swiftly overseas. Lucy, Draco, Oliver, Elena, and Damon were all trained soldiers. Elena couldn't come to due to the baby, but Caroline insisted coming in her place.

Lucy obviously didn't like that idea.

"Absolutely not. No way. You will sit here and wait for us to come back."

"I have vampire strength. And training. I've just never taken the soldiers tests." Caroline said.

"I will not have you out in battle."

"You can't tell me what to do."

"It's too dangerous."

"It's dangerous for you too!"

Lucy stopped. This was technically true. She couldn't even count how many times she's almost died because of her duties. And she still had to take her mandatory therapy.

"What if you get hurt?" Lucy lowered her voice.

"I won't. Cause you'll be by my side." Caroline reassured her.

Lucy sighed and narrower her eyes. "You're getting dangerous you know."

"Where do you think I learned it from?"

Caroline walked past her and Lucy let out a chuckle. They went to the shuttle with the green horses. They were exactly like the blue horses except these ones took you to the plane to get overseas.

Lucy lose her breath at the sight of the horses. She was reminded of being taken to the outlands. Two days in the cold, deafening silence.

She couldn't breathe here.

"You alright?" Oliver asked, coming behind her.

"Yeah- just wondering when i'll eat again." Lucy lied with a fake laugh.

"Oh yeah, i'm starving. I've discovered wolf bites make me hungry. Not sure how to feel about that." Oliver continued to rant on about food which distracted Lucy from her freak out about the horses.

It was a long ride to the site. It was nice seeing Damon and Enzo again though. Bonnie was at the Wolf kingdom looking after a very pregnant Elena. The birth of the first werewolf/vampire since High King Klaus was an exciting occurrence.

They all changed into their soldiers outfits which covered their chests and heads especially. Lucy led them to the main tent which was headquarters (Lucy was the head soldier back in Mystic Falls Wolf triad) and asked for whoever was in charge.

A tall attractive asian man came into their sights and greeted them. "I'm Commander Nakamura, I've been trying to gain control on most of what's happened."

"Can you explain what's been happening?" Lucy asked, total seriousness on her face.

"Word traveled quickly about you and your brother being sent to the outlands wrongfully. Then they heard about Queen Kallista. Some of the werewolves attacked the vampires in her defense. They struck back. Then the witches got involved somehow. We've been trying to contain them. We've managed no casualties except for what they've done to each other." He explained.

"Do you how many are dead?"

"Too many to count."

Caroline shuddered in fear but quickly brushed it off.

"When we go in, we take them down with force, not violence. You do not kill unless you absolutely have to. When they are down, you do your best to take them to cells. Remember they are spiteful, and angry, this may take a while. If you get hurt try to move on unless you can't move and/or walk. Understood?" Commander Nakamura told them.

"Yes sir." They all said.

As they made their way outside Lucy leaned next to. Caroline. "You stay close to me, understand?"

"I got this." Caroline told her to relax.

This did not make Lucy feel better in any way. But what calmed her mind was that in every battle the witches put small protection spells on the soldiers.

She couldn't even fathom something happening to Caroline. As she fought she'd have to make sure to keep and eye on her.

It was brutal. It was loud and bloody from the beginning. It was a lot different than the outlands.

The outlands were quiet, so quiet that you were taken by surprise when someone attacked you.

In here, you heard good and well who was going to jump you because of their battle cry. At least here you could except it.

As another vampire came towards Lucy, she held her arms up to pull him back. This one was big and muscular, he was stronger than her. The vampire overpowered her and caused her to fall down with him on top of her.

She was reminded of when she first made it to the outlands.

Lucy and Draco walked around trying to find a spot to settle. They had been in wolf form for about a month. Their life at home was all they thought about.

Draco was slightly starting to act erratic as he lost his mind so Lucy took extra care for him. As they finally found a spot to settle Draco laid down when she told him to. The pile of clothes ion the floor made for a nice bed.

"Hey! That's my bed! You two trying to get killed?" A vampire yelled.

Lucy wondered why the girl wasn't more scared of two wolves.

"Mine. Mine mine." The vampire said in a low voice. "Mine!" She lunged for Lucy and tightened her arms around her, making Lucy's bone break a little.

She howled out in pain and Draco lunged for the vampire, biting her head off. Lucy turned over and whimpered. Draco bit the pile of clothing and brought it over to Lucy, covering her up as they waited for her healing.

The pain was reminded when the man squeezed around her waist. She heard a crack and screamed out. Caroline pushed the vampire off and snapped his neck. Guards disposed of him and Caroline tended to Lucy, pushing off her shock of technically killing a person.

Lucy couldn't believe it. She froze.

She let a vampire hurt her again. Maybe therapy wasn't so bad.

She groaned through her teeth as Caroline dragged her to the tent for medical attention.

"You're so worried about me getting hurt and you go and break in half?" Caroline said in panicking anger.

"I'll heal." Lucy winced as she talked.

"Stupid vampire." Caroline went on and on.

"C-Caroline, I can't do this. I can't." Lucy whimpered.

The blonde snapped her head in the wolf's direction when she heard her.

"What are talking about? Do you want medicine for the pain? Can I get some medicine here please!" She yelled out.

"No no- I can't do any of this. I froze, I froze and got hurt. The outlands have broken me." Her voice cracked as she cried.

"That's not true." Caroline whispered.

"They have." Lucy shook her head and continued crying when the nurse came over to her.

"Soldier I can handle this I need you back out there please." The nurse said.

She froze in place as she watched Lucy cry. The thought of leaving absolutely killed her.

"Soldier! Did you hear me? I need you back out there. Your friend will be fine."

"Just go, please, Caroline." Lucy asked, her voice weak and defeated.

Caroline hesitantly walked out. The sight of a tore down crying Lucy cracked Caroline's heart.

This wasn't right. None of this was right.

She made her way past the barriers and tried to avoid people. She went for the green horse carriage. Caroline wouldn't be flying home.

She'd be going to the middle of the triads in the New Orleans faction.

Once she made it to New Orleans, she had talked to the kings. Now she stood up tall with her arms bloody and her face bruised. When she spoke into the mic everyone everywhere would hear her.

"People of Mystic Falls, I urge you to stop fighting, stop the bloodshed. There's no need for this animosity. Every species can live in peace."

She gathered a small crowd in New Orleans. Everyone heard her talking. Back home, in the vampire triad, the wolf triad, the witch triad, even Lucy heard her.

"As vampire queen im making the motion to destroy the triads."

The crowd gasped and grew bigger.

"You're not queen yet." One man said.

"Yes, I know. But I still have the authority to do so. No more split towns. Just Mystic Falls together living in peace."

More and more people listened.

"No more wolf slaves, no more forcing witches to do their bidding, and no more hostile vampires. We've lived this way for too long. It's not right or fair. High King Klaus has already signed off on it. But I want the people to agree as well. If you sign the soldiers wall tonight, it'll be official. Let's stop pretending one species is the superior species." She announced.

No one in the crowd said anything to her, they all talked amongst themselves in discussion. Back in battle, Lucy smiled as her girl spoke with true purpose and meaning. A true queen.

"Of course we agree with our lovely Princess Caroline here. I apologize love, I mean Queen." High King Klaus came out with a drink in his hand.

"What do you say people of New Orleans?" King Elijah asked his people.

Caroline held her breath and waited for the boos and heaps of food to be thrown at her.

But it never came. Instead people cheered her idea on. They had agreed.
