"I thought you're busy." Jaemin said softly.
"He's my dad, Jaemin." he sighs.
"I'm sorry."
Eunra groans.
"Why didn't you spend the night at Jisung's?" he asks.
"Bruh, why? You want me to?"
"No, I was just-"
"I can do whatever I want, Jaemin." Eunra scoffs.
"Don't question me on anything I do." he nodded.
"Emm, Eunra?"
She groans and turns to Jaemin.
"Thank you for going out with me." he smiles shyly.
"Yeah. That's the first and the last I'm going out with you." she left.
Jaemin was quite hurt by her words.
But who cares anyways when she finally goes out with me?
-
After she had showered, she walked towards her wardrobe, taking out her pyjamas.
She picked out her favourite pyjamas and wear it for the night.
"Aish, where is the remote?" Eunra gets up and looks under her bed if the remote is there.
"Ahhh, Jaemin borrowed it from me yesterday." she sighs and walks towards Jaemin's room.
Where could Jaemin possibly place the remote?
Eunra glances all over the room and the tv remote is nowhere to be found. She went to Jaemin's nightstand and pulled out the first drawer.
"Oh, there you are." The moment he picked up the remote from the drawer, another thing caught her eye.
What the hell?
"What are you doing?" a voice from behind asks her. Eunra jumps at the sudden voice. She gets up and looks at Jaemin.
"What is this?" She showed the picture.
"How did you get this?" he raises his voice.
"Jaemin, I'm asking you. What is this?!" he snatched the picture from Eunra's grasp.
Jaemin groans. His eyes met Eunra's and softened.
"Jaemin." she took a step forward.
"Who are you?"
"Why is there a picture of you and Haechan together?!" he sighs.
"Eunra, I'm sorry."
"Explain yourself!" Jaemin thought for a bit.
"We've known each other since I was 15."
He sits on his bed, bringing his hands to his hair.
"You lied to me." her cheeks glistened with tears.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Eunra shakes his shoulders.
"I don't have a choice." he said in brittle.
"You've always had a choice, Jaemin!" he gets up.
"I don't have a choice, Eunra! I never had. I never wanted it to end like this."
"But you did!" she screams.
"You know that Haechan is dying and you didn't tell me about it. I'm his girlfriend, Jaemin!" Jaemin tries to hug Eunra but she pushes him away.
"This is what you called love?"
"Don't involve love in this, Eunra. You don't even love me." he replied, monotone.
"If you love me you wouldn't do this to me, Jaemin!" She tries to push Jaemin but his hands grip hers.
"I've done everything, Eunra! Everything!"
"I've done everything to make you happy. I've done everything to show you how much I love you. But you hate me so much that you treated me like a fucking servant of yours!"
"If it wouldn't because of my undying love for you, I would have left you on the first day we're married. But I didn't, because I love you!" he can't fight back his tears anymore.
"Eunra."
"Did I ever really matter to you?"
"Did you ever care about me?"
"Answer me!" he half shouts.
She didn't answer.
"That's what I thought."
"Don't worry, Eunra. You'll stop suffering with me in a few months."
He left.
-
Eunra decided to cook breakfast for Jaemin that morning as an apology from her.
She realizes what a bad wife she is towards Jaemin. She needs to give Jaemin a chance.
A second chance. Because he deserves it.
A few minutes later, she saw Jaemin walking down the stairs.
"Morning." she greeted. Instead of greets back, Jaemin glances at Eunra. His eyes averted to the delicious bacon and eggs on the dining table.
He put his bag on the couch and went to sit in front of Eunra.
"You want to eat lunch together later?" he didn't answer and kept munching on his food.
Eunra sighs. Her hands touch his, softly. Jaemin pulls away.
Eunra's eyes widen.
He finishes his food and gets up.
"Jaemin, I'm sorry."
Jaemin stops in his tracks and turns around. He faked a smile and pulled a large envelope from his bag.
He puts the brown envelope on the table.
"What is this?"
"You can sign it whenever you want. But this time, I won't stop you." he said and left. Eunra lifts an eyebrow.
Sign what?
She took the papers out from the envelope.
It's the divorce papers.
He signed it.
He signed the divorce papers.
Did he want a divorce?
-
A loud slap from the table hits Jaemin into reality.
"Dude, this is the fourth time I'm explaining the same thing to you."
Jaemin fixes his hair.
"I'm sorry. It's just that a lot of things happen and I can't focus." he explains.
Jeno sighs.
"I'm worried about you, Jaemin. You've never been like this before." Jeno leans in.
Jaemin faked a smile and shook his head.
"What were you explaining just now?" Jeno rolled his eyes.
"Holding everything in doesn't help, you know?" he sighs.
"Eunra."
Jeno sighs.
"What did she do this time?"
"I signed the divorce papers." Jeno looked at him shocked.
"Jaemin, there's still a few months until the marriage is supposed to end." Jaemin nodded.
"What happened between both of you?"
"I give up." Jaemin lays back.
"You what?"
"No, Jaemin. You've done a lot of thing for that bi-"
Jaemin glares at Jeno.
"Okay, sorry but after everything you've done for her, didn't she have small feelings for you?" Jaemin shakes his head.
"I'm tired of trying."
"We can't force someone to be ours when they didn't think the same way we think about them."
"Plus, I know she's hurting while we're together so I think this is the best way."
Jeno's eyes still widen.
"Don't you still love her though?"
"My love doesn't mean anything when she didn't appreciate what I did for her."
"But you love her, Jaemin. You can't do that!" Jeno intervenes.
He knows how much Jaemin loves Eunra. He never loved anyone as much as he loves her.
"She's not happy with me, Jeno. I can't be selfish and only think about myself. If the divorce is the only thing that can make her happy, then I'll be fine."
"I guess."
someone gives up on trying.
