"Can you stop?" Braydin asked, an almost disturbed look painting his face.
It's lunch. Braydin was trying to take a sip of his Redbull and Brooklyn was settled next to him, her hand creeping up his thigh.
"Quit acting like you've never been around a woman before," she joked, pulling her hand away slowly and running her hands through her hair.
Braydin scoffed. After, he tried to signal the boy on the other side of him, Jack, with two swift knee-to-knee bumps but they weren't working. He had both of his AirPods in and he was texting while blasting some kind of rap, Braydin assumed.

Jack looked up from his phone. "Brooklyn, Um... Kallie just texted. She wants her jacket back."
"Um, whatever," The dark haired girl replied. "I'll just give it back in fourth."
"She... wants it back right now." The boy in the hat continued, gritting his teeth.
She batted her eyelashes at Braydin before speaking. "I think this seat is way more important."

"Clearly it isn't. Get out of here." Braydin grumbled, somehow unable to bring himself to sound upset with her.
Brooklyn set her hands on one of his shoulders. "Aw, don't act like that, Bray-Bray!"
The brunette shuddered at the nickname. Only Titus called him that. It shouldn't have mattered because he always meant it jokingly, but hearing it come from someone who wasn't his lover (and definitely far from it) shot shivers down his spine like five o'clock.
"Bray-Bray," she repeated herself. She then moved her hands onto his thigh. She arched her back and pouted, searching his face for any emotion. Braydin found himself looking in Jack's direction, squeezing his eyes shut. His temples pounded as a wave of nausea overtook him.
A man cleared his throat. "Excuse me. You're in my seat."
Braydin turned at the sound of that deep, burly voice. "Titus!"
Brooklyn scowled before leaving without saying anything. Titus sat down in her place, passing his boyfriend a frosted cookie and Jack a Fruit Punch flavored Envy.
The brunette let out a held back, well needed exhale and Titus also set a hand on his thigh, dragging his thumb back and forth on his boyfriend's sweatpants. The only difference is that Braydin liked Titus's touch.
"Are you alright?" He asked. Braydin wasn't afraid to be affectionate because the table wouldn't suspect anything, as they were used to the two of them doing that kind of stuff, so he rested his head on Titus's shoulder.
Jack was still on his phone, so Braydin turned slightly without lifting his head and kicked him with full force in the ankle. "Take your drink, dude."
"Owie!" Jack shrieked. He folded over the table and an AirPod came flying out of his ear, tumbling in front of Braydin.
Braydin snickered, putting the headphone in his ear. "What are you even listening to??"
"...don't care about the presents, underneath the Christmas tree! I just want you for my-" All I Want For Christmas is You began blaring in the brunette's ear. Braydin looked at his friend with an extremely horrified face as Jack frantically tapped on his AirPod to pause it.
"Give me. My. AirPod back." The boy in the hat seethed, clenching his teeth. He shakily held out a hand, gesturing for the headphone, and Braydin handed it to him, cackling.
"Dude," he sobbed, "It's January!" He would have said more, but as soon as the last syllable left his mouth the bell rang. The three boys, along with everyone else in the lunchroom stood up, and Braydin turned around to see a familiar face.
Brooklyn, winking and arching her back, flashed him a quick wave and a sly grin before strutting out of the cafeteria. Braydin turned to Titus and groaned, "Are you serious right now."

The bell for fourth period rings in a minute and a half. Braydin and Titus stood in front of the locker room doors, side by side. Their hands brushed and the perm having boy shot a loving look at the other. They reveled in the moment, gazing at each other, up untilโ€”

"Hi!!" Brooklyn squealed. She roughly set her hands down on his shoulders and rested a chin down on top of one, digging her nails into his skin.
Braydin shook her off, screaming, "Get off of me!"
"Whatever." She scoffed, flipping her hair behind her back and walking off.
Then, Brooklyn approached Annie and Dezzy. She looked back, watching Titus pull Braydin in by his waist and then step foot into the locker room hallway. "He totally just checked me out."
The whole time they were changing, Braydin felt like it was an out-of-body experience. He didn't understand why he felt so out of it. Brooklyn wasn't getting to him at all, so why did he feel like this?
Titus tapped his shoulder and smiled at him. "Hey, I'm here if you need to talk to me, Braydin. You don't look okay and instead of being a dick and asking you, I can already tell."
Braydin looked around, turned to Titus, and enveloped him in a warm hug. He pressed a kiss to the taller's cheek and then murmured, "I love you, Titus."
"I love you, too." Titus let go of Braydin and they walked out of the locker room single file.

"You suck at this game." Carter scowled, shoving Mel.
"At least I'm trying!" Mel snorted.
"Try harder!" She shoved him again.
Braydin and Titus had to listen to their incessant crudeness toward each other since the game began. Braydin snickered, turning to Carter before catching the ball. "You suck too, Carter."
She shrieked in response, "I know!"
Braydin turned to see who's open, and came almost face to face with Brooklyn. She smiled at him, giggled, and then tried to lean in and kiss him. He moved his head back, so she tried to pathetically disguise the failed kiss as a sad attempt to block. He turned back around as quick as he could, and saw Dezzy waving her arms and shouting his name.
Except, between every audible shout, Dezzy would mouth Titus.
So, Braydin threw the ball behind him and Titus caught it. He didn't waste a second, faking passes left and right before pausing and throwing it right into Brooklyn's face.
The girl tumbled to the ground and let out an ear-curdling scream. "Dude!"
Everyone stood in silence, waiting for her to stand back up. She remained on the floor, holding her forehead. Hazel leaned into Calleigh and Carter's ears and whispered, "What's she doing?"
Calleigh snickered and whispered something in response out of earshot, but Braydin's head just sounded like static. He didn't know what was going on around him. He couldn't hear what anyone was saying, from Jack yelling to continue the game to Titus exulting about his throw. He couldn't even tell when class ended, or when he walked out to fifth period, or when the dismissal bell rang. He only remembered walking into his room, throwing off his bag, curling up in bed and crying.
