"Did things just get incredibly worse?"

"I can't believe this. Ian's dead."

"No, zombies don't text!" Hanna looks at them, "Okay, he is alive somewhere."

"Spence."

Spencer looks down, "I have to get this phone home before Melissa realizes that it's gone."

Emily stops her from walking out, "Okay, you put it back and then what do we do?"

"Do we call the cops?"

"Like that's done us any good in the past." Sadie scoffed, throwing her hands up, "I mean, seriously? When have they ever helped us?"

"Why is Ian texting Melissa?" Aria questions the Hastings girl, just wanting to know whether he was alive or not.

"And why is Melissa answering?"

"Is she?" Sadie raised an eyebrow, "Because we have no clue how long this has been going on."

"Spencer, look, you've gotta find out what Ian told Melissa. You're the only one who can find out what he wants."

"And where he is."

Pine cones begin falling on the top of the green house they were standing in, freaking the five of them out more than they already were.

"Let's get out of here!"

โ๐‹๐„๐“'๐’ ๐‰๐”๐’๐“ finish this in the morning, okay?โž Hanna says as Aria walked a little bit ahead of the other four, "I'm cold, damp and scared. We can talk at school."

"We can't talk at school, remember?" Aria says, "The five of us are supposed to be having "separate time".

Sadie rolled her eyes, "Doctor's orders."

"So what are we supposed to do?" Hanna questioned as they come around the corner, "Not talk to each other? We're in the same classes."

"We just have to play it cool." Spence tells them before clattering in the distance turns them toward the noise, "It's Jason."

"Did he move back in?" Hanna asked before looking at Sadie, "Why didn't you tell us he was back?"

Sadie stares at her husband in shock, "He never told me."

"What is all that?" Spencer asked as they watched him throwing a bunch of stuff away.

"That's all that stuff that those people left on the curb when Ali went missing, those tributes."

"Maya said her family kept those things when they moved in." Emily tells them with her arms crossed ever her chest. "They didn't have the heart to throw them out."

"Apparently, Jason's moved on."

"What's he doing back in that house?"

Jason looks up from where he was still throwing things in the trash, catching sight of the five girls watching him. A smile appears on his face as he's eyes instantly move towards the one person he really wanted to see, "Hey, Sadie James. Miss me?"

Sadie grins widely before she rushes towards him, throwing herself into his arms as the girls watched on with warm smiles at how happy their best friend looked, "You have no idea how happy I am that you're here."

He chuckled, glancing over her shoulder where the other girls were watching, "I would kiss you butโ€”,"

"They know. I promise, I told them." Sadie cuts him off as she grabs his face in her hands and brings their foreheads together, "I really want you to kiss me."

With a bright smile, Jason gives her exactly what she wants, kissing his wife softly and as if she would disappear from his arms. Pulling away, he puts her feet back on the ground, brushing her blonde hair out of her face.

"What are you doing back?" She questioned as she had to tilt his head to look at her.

His eyes flicker back to where the girls were watching, "Let me grab some stuff and I'll come stay with you tonight. We'll talk in the morning. It's late, and I don't really want you or them walking home in the dark. I'll drive them all home."

"Okay." Sadie kisses him one last time before walking back towards the girls, "Jason's gonna drive us all home. Doesn't want us all walking alone in the dark."

"Did he say what he was doing back?" Spencer asked, glancing back at where Jason had gone back into his old house.

"No, he said we'll talk in the morning." Sadie shrugged before noticing the creepily smile Hanna had on her face, "What? Why are you smiling at me like that?"

"I've never seen you light up as much as you did when you jumped into his arms." Hanna keeps smiling at her, "It was cute."

"Well, you look like a creep. Don't smile like that." She tells her before Jason walked up behind her.

"Come one, let's get you guys home." Jason smiles at the girls, though it didn't reach his eyes like it had when he smiles at Sadie.

โ๐Ž๐Š๐€๐˜, ๐Ž๐Š๐€๐˜!โž Sadie laughs as Jason hangs onto her waist as they stand in front of her closet, his lips attached to the side of her neck as he kisses her. "I really need to get ready for school."

"Alright." He backs off, falling back on her bed as he watches her go through her closet to find something to wear, "So, I bought our old place back. I'm gonna take some time to fix it up and do some painting before I fully move back in. Will says that I can stay here until I'm finished. And then I thought that we could...move in when it was done."

Sadie spins around to face her husband, head tilted to the side as she eyed him, "You want us to move in to your old house?"

"Sades, I love being here with you, Will, Cassie and now Caleb, believe me, I do." Jason takes her hands in his, pulling her to stay between his legs as he turns his head up to look at her, hands dropping her to slide up the back of her thighs. "But I just want a place that I can come home to and only have to interact with you."

"But your old house?" She raised an eyebrow before sighing, "Jase, I'll think about it, okay? I'm not saying I won't move into the house with you, but that's a big step from living with your parents and my brothers."

"I know, but we'll get used to living on our own." Jason tells her, gently pushing her back as he stands up and kisses her forehead, "You get ready for school and I'll make breakfast for you and Caleb. I love you."

"You don't love me because you haven't kissed me right yet." She pouts, tugging on the ends of his t-shirt.

He chuckled, leaning down to actually kiss her this time, "Is this better?" He mumbles against her lips.

"Much better."

โ๐’๐Ž ๐“๐‡๐„ videos are gone?โž Aria hisses though clenched teeth as the five stood in the lunch line.

"Totally gone." Emily tells her, the video's having been erased from her computer at home.

"That was our only evidence."

"Well, we don't have it anymore." Sadie sighs with a roll of her eyes.

"Has Ian sent Melissa any more messages?" Hanna questioned Spencer.

"I don't know. She's not leaving her phone sitting around.

"What about Jason? Why is he back? And what is he doing in that house?" Emily asked as the four of them turned their heads to where Sadie was standing at the end of the line next to Spencer.

"I don't know." Sadie lied with a shrug of her shoulders, "We didn't really talk when we got back from dropping all of you off. I was tired so I went upstairs to go back to bed and he stayed up talking with Will when he got home from his shift at the hospital."

"Maybe he's just looking for closure or something." Spencer, being the closest to Sadie could tell that she was tense about the topic, changed the conversation from the blonde.

"Okay, new rule, no one can say the world, "closure"." Hanna tells them. "Ever."

"Dr. Sullivan says it all the time." Emily points out.

"I rest my case."

"Han." Aria stops the blonde from sitting at the table while the others still stood next to the table.

"What?"

"I don't think we should sit together." Spencer tells her.

Hanna's eyebrows pinch together in confusion, "We always sit together."

"We have to make it look like we're going along with this."

"Oh, looking like we're doing it is the same thing as doing it." Hanna tells them, "It means we're wrong. And we're not wrong, we're right."

"Are we?" Aria asked in a hushed voice, "We don't even really know what happened."

"How can we be sure if we're even right?" Emily asked.

Hanna shrugged her shoulders, "That's even more reason to stick together."

"I couldn't sit with you guys either way. I have a lunch date." Sadie shrugged as she began to walk away.

"What? Jason's coming to eat lunch with you?" Aria raised an eyebrow as she turned in her chair to look at the blonde.

"Nope, I have a date with your brother." Sadie sends her a wink before disappearing out the double doors.

"Sadie! Over here!" Mike calls out for the Beaumont girl as he sits with Noel.

Before she moved towards them, her cellphone beeps and she pulls it out to look at the text message sent to all five girls from A.

"Were you expecting someone other than me?" She raises an eyebrow as Jason shakes his head and uses a tea towel to wipe his hands off.

"No. Doesn't anyone else besides your brother know you're staying here tonight?" Jason asked, always making his way towards the front door.

"No."

"Watch dinner so it doesn't burn. I'll talk to whoever it is."

Outside, Spencer holds a plate of Brownies in her hands as she hears a dog growling, turning around to spot a white dog with black spots sniffing around some bushes, "Hey. What you doin', buddy?"

"Get out of here!" The front door opens and Jason steps out of the house, throwing a rolled up newspaper at the poor dog, "Dammit, Sadie. I told you to stop feeding that stay dog!" He calls into the house before turning to the teen standing on the porch, "Hello, Spencer."

"Hi." Spencer greeted him, "I know I saw you the other night but I thought I'd try to beat the welcome wagon."

"Ah, thanks. That's great." Jason takes the plate of brownies in her hand, "These don't have any kind of peanuts in them, right? Sadie's allergic."

"Uh, I don't think so. I...I didn't know she was allergic to peanuts." Spencer tries to follow Jason into the house but he stops her before she can and closes the door.

"Yeah, she had an incident back a few months before she came back. She's supposed to carry an EpiPen just in case." Jason chuckled, scratching the back of his neck.

Spencer has her arms wrapped around her, "Are your parents coming back?"

"No." Jason shakes his head, "And it's just gonna be me for the time being. I heard what happened. Are you okay?"

"I'm working on it." She sends him a forced smile, "So you know what's been going on?"

"Just what I've heard from the News and what Sadie James tells me." Jason tucks his hands in the pockets of his jeans, "The cops in this town don't really talk to me. Yeah, I'm the brother of a murder victim. But mostly, they see me as a big pain in the ass. I ask too many questions."

"You are a big pain in the ass." Sadie opens the door behind him and steps out, closing it behind her as Jason wraps an arm around her shoulders and kisses the top of her head, "Spence? What are you doing here?"

"Spencer brought brownies to welcome me back." Jason tells her, "Don't eat them until I can make sure your throat won't close up."

Sadie rolls her eyes playfully, "I was just coming to tell you that I finished dinner. Just waiting on you."

"Is that why you're back?" Spencer questioned Jason more as Sadie looks at her in confusion. "The questions?"

"Yes and no."

"Maybe we can help." Spencer gestures between her and Sadie, ignoring the look that the blonde shot her way.

"Okay. The bell tower."

"What about it?"

"Sadie told me her side. I heard that you told the police Ian confessed to killing Ali. Is that what happened?"

"That's being referred to as my version of events." Spencer said with her arms still crossed over her chest, "The police think that Ian ran away but not because of your sister."

"Did he confess?"

"Yeah, I think he did."

"You think he did?" Jason questioned, relaxing his tense muscles as Sadie pressed herself closer to his side.

"Well, he wanted people to believe that I killed her. Sadie got caught in the crossfire."

"And how did you do it, according to Ian?"

"I pushed her. She fell. And it was an accident. Jason, I'm sorry. I know that you and Ian were once closeโ€”,"

Jason cuts her off, "Did he say he killed her?"

"That's what he meant."

"That's what he meant. That's what you think. Did Ian say, "I killed Alison."?"

"Not those words."

"Not those words?" Jason takes a step closer to Spencer.

"Jase." Sadie steps in front of him, hand on his stomach to stop him from moving any more.

Jason doesn't take his eyes off of Spencer, "It's getting late and I've got a lot to do inside. Sadie James."

The blonde shoots Spencer half a smile as she moves around her husband to crack the door open just enough she could slip inside.

"Can I help?"

"You already have. Goodnight." Jason tells her before going inside and looking down at Sadie who had her arms crossed over her chest. "What? I was just asking her questions."

"Mm-hm. Let's eat so I can go to bed."

Jason smirked, wrapping his arms around her waist as he shuffled them back from the door, "How about we skip dinner and go straight to the bed?"

"Not happening, buddy."

"What are you afraid I'd find in there?" Alison asked her older brother as he walked up the front door steps.

Jason turns to look at her, locking eyes with Sadie's for a split second, "Look, just stop messin' with people."

"No challenge with you and your little stoner buddies." Alison spits back, "All you need is something shiny on a piece of string."

The girls, minus Sadie who was standing up from the grass, snicker.

"Watch him, ladies." Alison smirked, "He's got trouble with door knobs."

"Where are you going?" Hanna asked the older brother as she made her way around Alison.

"Yeah, where are you going?" Alison sends her a pointed look as Sadie glared down at her.

"In case you're forgetting, I'm one of those "stoner buddies"." Sadie tells her, "Somebody's gotta calm him down."

"What's wrong with Jason?" Aria asked as Sadie disappeared in the house and Alison sat on the grass with Emily and Hanna.

"He just thinks I stole one of his Japanese cartoon porn books."

Hanna smirked, "Did you?"

"Of course I did."

Emily chuckled, "Aren't you afraid he's gonna rip apart your room?"

"Nah, Sadie will calm him down enough. Besides, wouldn't do him any good. I have hiding places all over the house. In the yard, too." She says to the five girls, "When I hide something, it stays hid. Until I want it found. That's why your secrets are all so safe with me."

A clattering sound is heard from inside the house, followed by Sadie's loud giggles as the girls in the yard turn towards the door.

"Looks like she's doing her job." Alison smirked.

"Well, it turned into Caleb and Sadie playing thum-war, Caleb lost all four times." Cassie mumbles as she keeps her eyes glued to the TV in front of them.

"Then we decided to duke it out with a game of Tic-Tac-Toe, but Sadie lost all four times." Caleb lazily says without lifting his head.

"And now we're watching Rango."

Will sighed, "This has been my life for the last few months."

"Get used to it, buddy." Jason laughed, turning towards the kitchen.

"Bring us more popcorn!"

"How about you guys get up and come eat the dinner that we bought."

There's a moment of silence before three voice call out three very different excused.

"Well, she didn't go far. I checked the driveway. And it was dry under her car, so it hadn't been moved all day."

"Who would she wanna show this to?" Sadie raised her eyebrow.

"And I can only think of one person who would care." Hanna spoke up next.

"Ian."

"If she didn't take the car that means he must be close."
