We were stood on the top of the block of flats, silent as ever, while Kate stood there, not knowing what the hell we're doing here. Clint had been looking through the binoculars for a good three minutes, now, and I could tell one of us was bored.

"You wanna tells me what we're doing here?" Kate asked while we leaned on the edge, slightly mocking what Clint was doing.ย

"There's something important inside the apartment that we need." I simplify, rather than tell her the whole story. Not worth my time in telling her the backstory of a watch, is it?ย

"It was stolen from a black market auction. I need it back." Clint says. "No lights. No movement." We both looked over at the idiot with the binoculars before Kate sighed beside me. "This is our chance."ย

"This would have been easier if we were on a higher rooftop." Kate says. I glanced around while Clint claimed otherwise.

"That's what you think." He says, yet, I couldn't actually find a higher rooftop that we could use.ย

"Yeah... exactly. That's why I said it." Kate said, a little confused on his first comment.ย

"Watch, he's about to tell us about quick exits." I murmured to her, quiet as possible so he couldn't hear.

"Kate, you always wanna prioritize a quick exit over a quick entrance." He said, as if I'd wrote a script for him to read from. No, the idiots just said it so many times, I've practically memorised it. The girl let out a soft laugh quietly while he continued. Then, an idea popped to mind. I whispered in her ear while the old man rambled on, picking up the batons and her bow before we slowly backed away, towards the staircase.

We got out of the building quick, while I found the frequency on the coms link so we could then hear him realise we were no longer there.ย

"Kate? Rob?" I could only imagine him glancing around the rooftop for us as we crossed the street.

"Ah, found the frequency." I murmured to her. Two cars started to shout at us and I showed one of the drivers just where to stick their comments with a hand gesture, while Kate gave the guy the other direction a look, telling him to wait his turn.ย

"Rob? Kate?" He called again.

"Heya." Kate said to him, as if it were no big deal we were now no longer following his plan.

"I told you, you're supposed to be lookout." Clint says.

If you ever catch me on lookout, kill the bitch 'cause it ain't me.ย

"Yeah, but of the three of us, who's not gonna get distracted?" Kate asked making me snort at the comment.

"Look, that's not fair at the fact that the both of you act like children and cannot act your respectable age-" He began to comment, causing me to raise an eyebrow.

"Excuse me?" I asked. "I act more mature than you do." I point out.

"Prove it." He challenged me.

I looked over at Kate. "Whatever you do, never take him to a Lego store-"ย

"That was one time-" He argued, while I smirked at the memory. Meanwhile, me and Kate were walking towards the block of apartment's entrance. An elderly man, holding bags of shopping, was stood trying to open the door. "Alright, look, I need you two to use your grappling hook arrow to anchor yourself in. Then, propel yourself down the side of the building to the window-"ย

"Great plan, but no." I said bluntly. "We're gonna... slightly tweak it."ย

The two of us walked up to the elderly man, of who was having trouble with the three grocery bags. "Good evening, sir, can I help you with your bags?" He turned to look at us, and didn't seem to care that we were wearing unusual clothing?ย

"Oh- thank you-" He smiled sweetly and handed us one each before opening up the door far more easily, now.

"What are you-" Clint stopped mid sentence. "No, no no- Don't engage-" Too late, though, we were talking the easy route.

After the very awkward elevator ride with the old man, we walked down the corridor, looking around for the apartment door. The younger archer started to complain about the bow situation, though.ย

"What do you do with this giant bow problem?" She asked us both as we walked, not caring how loud she could sometimes be.

"We have collapsible ones." I tell her, in a very dumb tone.

"Oh, that makes sense." She says, while hitting my arm due to my tone.

"God, you're such an old married couple." Clint muttered through coms. I furrowed my eyebrows at him, not understanding how he saw that in the two of us.ย

"Okay, we're at the door." She once again handed me her bow before taking out two metals picks. They'd usually be used by thieves these days, so I found myself caught up looking at them cautiously when she went to pick the lock.ย

"We're good." Clint says as she then rattled the door handle. It opened suddenly, and the girl seemed a little proud of herself. Handing back the bow, she turned the light on the side of it on. I, meanwhile, took my bow out and retracted it all before walking in, an arrow already drawn in case.ย

It was silent in the apartment, and there wasn't any other light present other than Kate's bow. That was until we moved around more. By the time I had the door shut and had caught up with Kate, it was different. After she'd just confirmed the living room was clear, it was no longer- clear. Two lights in either corners of the living room, started to flash.

"Oh, shit-" The girl shot the putty arrow at one and I shot the other with the acid arrow, not realising that it was probably going to cause a lot more damage than the putty arrow.ย

"What was that?" He asked us through coms. I was still too lost to know, though. I drew another arrow, while Kate explained the best way she could.ย

"I don't know.. there was like strobe lights against the wall." The girl said, while I took a glance around the living area. Nothing else.ย

"What do you mean, strobe lights?" He asked us, as if there was any other way to describe a light on the side of a fucking wall.

"I don't know." I could hear Kate's nerves beginning to kick in, just like at the warehouse with the tracksuits. But, we continued on, into the next room, while I took out a flashlight of my own to glance around.

He was silent on coms for a moment. "What do you see?"ย

"What're we looking for?" She asked in return.ย

"A Rolex." I tell her as we crept along. "It's Vintage, belonged to someone we know."

"Is that the full story?" Kate asks me, letting nothing slip, now.

"If we get out of this, alive, I'll let you know more. All you need to know is their identity is on the watch, and we need to get it." I explained. She hovered the light over the desk as she asked the next question.

"And, if the tracksuits find out about it?" She asks. Dad got in first before I could.ย

"It would blow their cover. Goodbye, friend." Clint said to her as we still looked. It didn't take us long to find it and to let the old man know. But, as me and Kate were about to leave, something caught my eye. A notepad, with multiple names written on it, in messy-ish handwriting.ย

"Wait-" I grabbed it, taking a better look at it.

I stared down at the paper before sighing. "Clint- this isn't good-" I told him on coms.

"What? What is it?" I felt Kate's presences behind me, looking over my shoulder to also read.ย

"Someone is taking notes on us." I tell him. "Clint Barton, wife Laura, Daughter, Robyn, age twenty-four, daughter, Lila, age fourteen, son, Cooper, age sixteen, son, Nate." I dropped the notepad before it clicked in my head.ย

"Rob, Kate- get out of there." Clint told me, like I needed to be told twice. I went to grab Kate's hand but her eye's were fixated on a framed photo. Maya.ย

I grabbed her wrist, this time going to pull her along but a sudden hit to the side of my face got me first. The problem was, it was a good kick to the face, too. But, the other problem was, we weren't the only ones who were being attacked.ย

As I got up, Kate panicked over hearing dad fighting someone else. Maya went to throw another punch, but I narrowly dodged it, sweeping her to the ground with my own feet.ย

"MAYA IS HERE." I shouted at him on coms taking Kate's hand and trying to keep her out of harms way.ย

"Yeah, I can see that." He told me.ย

"Why didn't you tell us?" Kate asked as Maya got up. She ran towards me but I again moved to the side for her to knock into the kitchen cabinets. She was ruthless, though, and threw me onto the floor as if she hadn't hit her head as hard as she just did. And, instead, I hit the ground hard.ย

"I did, Maya's on the roof with me." I heard Clint say as I saw both Kate and Maya chase each other around the kitchen.ย

"Bullshit, she's right here." I tell him as I stood up. Kate threw a plate in her direction but missed by quite a bit. "She's definitely here, Clint." I told him as Maya dodged another badly-thrown plate.ย

"Then who the hell am I fighting, then?" He asks me as Maya rolled across the kitchen counter, towards us. I sent a punch to her stomach and waited for Kate to get out of the way before kicking Maya also. She was sent tumbling, but then set eyes on Kate, throwing a punch straight to the face.ย

"Oh fuck." I muttered. "We need help." I told him before jumping across the room and to Maya, punching at the girl, but she swerved it.ย

"Give me a second." I heard him say. Kate tried to throw a punch and kick, but Maya took anything but that, and instead kicked Kate so hard that she rolled over the couch behind her. I picked up a knife from the kitchen side and went to slice the side of Maya with it. Modern problems require modern solutions. "Incoming." I heard him call. Maya blocked the slice of the knife with her hand and kicked me back, knife now in hand. "GET ON THE ZIPLINE."ย

She threw the knife towards Kate and it hit the coffee table's leg. Only millimetres from the girls head. Great.

"GO. NOW." I shouted at the girl before turning to the other girl in the room. Our fighting continued while Kate took both our bows out to the balcony. While taking the chance, I sent a punch towards Maya's face, trying to distract her long enough to get out onto the balcony.

Kate, being the girl that she is, still hadn't gone yet, and instead handed me my own bow before finally taking her trip on the zipline. I heard footsteps behind me and wasn't looking at where Kate was when I went onto the line myself. I ended up bumping into Kate on the zipline, causing her to get out a groan, and then a cheer when she started to move again.

After a second, I too ended up moving and getting down. The other masked figure didn't seem to care by my sudden appearance, but I sure cared when I saw them hold a gun up to Kate. I threw a lit baton at them and they weren't pleased, either.ย

With a kick to the gun, I now had them unarmed, however, I already knew it wasn't just the four of us on the roof. Maya had just attacked me from behind and I went tumbling into the masked figure.ย

They pushed me off of them, grunting and I recognised for just a moment, that annoyed, slightly pissed, grunt. Who's it was, was another matter. They braced slightly as I got up, leaning down with a hand to the ground as I looked up at them. It was like looking in a mirror, with them doing such a similar technique.ย

The gun had clattered to the ground, and Maya was rather busy fighting Clint and Kate was still recovering from one of the many attacks. We both glanced at the gun on the floor before I ran towards them as they went towards the gun, tackling them to the floor before I then ran towards the weapon on the floor. Mine now, bitch.

Picking it up, I aimed it up at the masked one. The head tilted for only a moment, before suddenly turning to the other side of the rooftop, where the others were. I didn't need to be three years old to know I needed to help. The masked fighter didn't mess about, though, fighting both Clint and Kate, when Maya suddenly turned to me.

Taking one hand to my other baton, I kinda slapped her in the face with it, sending her flying to the other rooftop. By the time I had turned around to look at the fight, the masked one had just thrown Kate off the side of the roof. I felt myself shout at the masked fighter before throwing multiple punches their way, more reckless than ever. But, surprisingly, they hadn't seen it coming.ย

"Get out of here." I'd heard Clint tell Kate, before a wire snapping.ย

"Why're you-" Before I can finish my sentence, and get angry and dad, a kick to the back of my leg came first.

Through gritted teeth, I then turned quickly to Maya, throwing two punches to the stomach. And, with Clint too busy with the masked asshole, it seemed as though we were both getting nowhere with this. She tried to attack from behind again, but I only elbowed her in the side of the face while trying to get a shot at the other one.ย

Then, while I thanked God, Kate suddenly reappeared from the door, bow in hand. I smiled for a split second before a punch from Maya came knocking my way to the head. I elbowed her again and then turned to the masked one who dad had made no effort on beating.

A sudden flash of light. Bright, and loud as fuck, knocked us all back. I hardly found any grip on the floor as I tried to block out the horrendous sound. It was horrible, though, like the sound of being too close to where the fireworks were taking off at your local town.ย

Once I'd gained the power of hearing again, I looked up to see Maya kicking Kate, the masked fighter still fighting Clint and what looked like another round of me taking paracetamol to cure the on-coming headache. Kate hit the ground of the rooftop hard and I picked up the gun from the masked fighter off the ground before aiming up at Maya.

I wanted to, really, but I knew the consequences. If I shot for anywhere without calculating it properly, the consequences could be lethal. Or.... A voice in my head began, sounding vaguely like Natasha.ย

I shot at her shoulder twice, just close to the edge. Enough to hurt, perhaps not enough to kill. She looked at me, more annoyed that I'd actually shot her than anything else. No one, EVER, kicks Kate near me.

But, she didn't bother to give me a staring competition, and instead ran off, down to a different rooftop beside the building we were on. One down, one to go. I rolled across to where the masked one was fighting Clint, grabbing them from behind while they weren't looking, my arm locked around their neck.

They continued to fight, though, elbowing me in the ribs, for what felt like the tenth time that evening, before going try and get another punch at Clint. But, then, I had the chance. I ripped off the mask from their head, revealing a braid I'd seen before. Along with the person.

Before I could even let that happen, though, a blaze of pain spread through me as she shocked me with a widow bite. Falling to the floor in pain, I grasped the side of my neck as I tried to get rid of this sudden shock of pain. Easier said than done.ย

Kate had her bow aimed at Yelena, but I knew that if one arrow was shot at Natasha's sister, I'd never live it down. Although I needed to stop the fight, the pain was far much worse than a period cramp or a blow to the head.

The Russian turned to look at me on the floor, trying to gain some sort of reasoning while I stared back at her. She then looked up at Kate with the bow, shaking her head silently. There was so much to suddenly unpack, I didn't know what to do, or say. Kate was so close to shoot at Yelena, but something must've finally come over her to not.ย

Yelena was gone as quick as she'd gotten here, throwing a zipline clamp down by the side of me as I ripped the widow bite off of me finally. She gave me a smirk, as I slowly stood up, turning before running, jumping off the side of the roof. As she jumped, she turned around, in real style, too.ย

Yelena. Belova.ย

I ran to the side of the roof, but I already knew the Russian would be gone. Of course, she would be gone. She's YELENA BELOVA. I felt Kate's presence beside me, but I couldn't bare it anymore. If Yelena was here, there was another meaning to it all.ย

"Who the hell was that?" Kate turned quickly to where Clint was behind us, I stared for another moment before I then turned to look at dad. He had never met Yelena before, but I'd only met her due to the fact Natasha was insistent of taking me with her to Norway (which quickly became Budapest, and then Russia... and then the Red Room).ย

He looked away. "You don't wanna know, kid." He only thought it was another Black Widow. I picked up my bow off the side and picked an arrow from my quiver, trying my best to not lose my cool. Find your happy place, Robyn. Now.ย

"We cannot work together, if you don't tell me what's going on." Kate said. I dropped the arrow on the floor, then staring at it.ย

"We're not working together, you understand that?" Clint says to her. Ah, this is where shit gets real. Fuck. "We never were."ย

"Someone has hired a Black Widow assassin. To kill." I say.ย

"This has gotten real. VERY quickly." Clint says, but I got the sudden feeling it was no longer directed at just Kate. "So, I'm doing this alone."ย

No. No. No. That's when it all went quiet for me. I could see the two arguing, but there was no stopping Clint. He was stubborn, just like me. He couldn't do it alone, he would die, otherwise.

Yelena...
