backstory
• childhood ; as a kid, cass had it rough, as did her siblings. their financial situation wasn't the best, and some days they went hungry or had to eat at a friend's house. not to mention living in a trailer with 5 people was difficult. luckily they had great friends who happily offered to spend time with them and give them food. it was embarrassing, but they couldn't go long without eating. cass also had to be there for jughead as he got bullied for his silly name a lot. it wasn't easy to handle, but as his twin, she always helped him out. things in their family went farther south when fp got fired from the construction company he worked at with fred andrews. the twins being 11 and jellybean about 6, they spent several nights comforting their young sister when fp drank and argued with gladys. eventually, their mom was sick of it, and she grabbed jellybean and left. the two always wondered why she didn't bother to take them or even explain why, but while they resented her for it, they also missed her.
• teenage years ; a couple years passed by and things didn't get much better. jughead hung out with his friends a lot more, probably to get away from their trailer, and cass couldn't blame him. betty, jughead's friend, was pretty nice, so she hung out with her too. until betty and jughead drifted apart, though still remained friends.
a year later when they were 14, cass decided she wanted to see her mom and sister. it had been three years with hardly any calls and no visits. after much convincing, fp decided to let her go, so she went. she missed jughead a lot, but she needed to see her mom. cassie stayed a lot longer than intended, a couple years actually. it wasn't until the first black hood attack that she came back, where she found out  about all the crazy shït that had happened; jughead was dating betty, their dad was arrested for covering up jason blossom's murder committed by clifford blossom (who was now dead), there was a new girl with a criminal father, and polly was pregnant with her dead cousin's babies. it was a lot to handle. yet with her friends and brother, they somehow made it through and survived all the crazy shît that hit their quiet, little town.

forsythe "fp" jones II ; cass and fp don't have much of a good relationship either, mostly because of his drinking. she knew he tried his best when it came to feeding them and paying the bills, but dealing with his alcoholism was a lot and it wasn't fair to her and jughead to deal with. jughead jones ; cass and jughead are of course super close, especially being twins. after coming back, cass teased him a lot about dating betty, knowing deep down when she was younger that it was gonna happen. turns out she was right. cass and jughead love eachother and would do anything to protect the other. he was mad she left him for so long, but understood why and forgave her. jellybean jones ; cass and jellybean are close sisters, but not as close as cass wished they were. they were 5 years apart in age and currently live in different states. it was a great two years that they spent together after their parents' separation, but it was awkward and jelly was still young. archie andrews ; archie and cass weren't so close, but they got along pretty well. he was her brother's best friend, and they had to deal with a lot of crazy shït together, so they became good friends, but not as close as cass and betty. (7/10 relationship)
veronica lodge ; veronica and cass became just as close as veronica and betty were. they were a trio basically, and of course veronica spoiled cass with clothes and nice things since she loved her and knew she couldn't afford them (9/10 relationship)
kevin keller ; kevin and cass were not super close, but they were just about as close as she and archie. he kind of helped her get reggie, which she was forever grateful for, and she pushed him to get with fangs. (7/10 relationship)
cheryl blossom ; the two don't always get along well, but sort of like cheryl and betty, they tolerate one another. theyre not exactly friends, but they're civil (5/10 relationship)

; cass and reggie start out as frenemies. sorta. they didn't hate each other, but they teased and picked on one another. it seemed serious but was mostly lighthearted and to other people, it was noticeable. it didn't take long for the two to develop crushes and things kind of went from there. he bravely asked her out on a date and she accepted, the two going to pop's. the diner was a fun, loving place to hang out at, so cass didn't mind at all. plus, it didn't need to be anything fancy. growing up poor, she wasn't materialistic much.
