backstory
childhood; andrea spent the first several years of her life in argentina, her family later moving to LA when she was 8. her parents worked hard to get them to america, wanting their children to have the best opportunities. her parents usually got them whatever they wanted growing up, especially since they couldn't live in the nice parts of LA. they had money, but not enough. unfortunately her parents weren't around much after moving to america, but she knew they were working hard to keep giving them a decent childhood. because of their absence, andrea depended on her siblings a lot and they all relied on each other to be there when someone needed it. she got really close with them and they stick together. when she was 11, there was a drive by and her brother shoved her to the ground and was hit instead. he had no regrets, especially since he was only shot in the arm and his sister had been saved. it was a scary situation, but they all got through it together.
teenage years; andi hated being left behind in middle school, but it didn't last long as she was only there without them for two years. she was glad to start high school with her siblings there, especially since she never made too many friends. that changed freshman year though, meeting the group. she loved her friends, and they hung out all the time. her siblings sometimes joined them, but they also did their own thing. despite them having separate friend groups, the siblings stayed close. andi got close with césar, but more in a sibling way. she also became close with ruby over time, especially after olivia died and ruby was shot. hearing and watching the whole situation was horrifying, and luckily her siblings were there to comfort her. losing a friend and almost losing another was one of the worst days of her life. it wasn't long before ruby and andi developed feelings for one another. eventually they started dating and were always there for each other. the group supported it of course, as did her siblings. the only thing her siblings didn't like is the danger she got in with this friend group, but they knew she had to figure things out on her own and that they would reach out for help if they ever need it. besides, they also had spooky if they ever truly needed help from his gang, even if spooky often gave césar some tough love.

tomás luis lopez ; andi is somewhat close with her dad, but he works a lot and he doesn't see her often. despite this fact, he one time notices something is off with her. when he one day finds her crying in her room, he gets her to open up. turns out she thinks she may be pregnant, but after buying her a test and letting her take it, it's negative. this made them even closer as she knew she could trust him with anything without judgment (8/10 relationship)
valentina jazmín lopez ; andi is sort of close with her mom, but not really. her older sister sort of replaces the close mother-daughter relationship she wishes she had. they talk from time to time and they love to shop together, but they don't really talk about personal things, but andi has sort of accepted that (6/10 relationship)

isabella abril lopez ; isabella is two years older than andi, and she often goes by izzy. she and andi are super close and andi is the first person she talks to about ruby. she also tells her about the pregnancy scare, which isabella supports her with. izzy checks in on andi constantly and invites her to do things with her older friend group, which sometimes she'll accept (10/10 relationship)
joaquín manuel lopez; andi and joaquín are super close, despite their three year age difference. he's in the same grade as izzy because he got held back when they were younger when one year things were really bad and he had family stuff to help focus on. he's always there for her and he stays with her the night that ruby and olivia were shot. he's always lecturing her about staying safe, and despite how often she rolls her eyes at it, she appreciates it and know he means well (relationship 9/10)
