CORA HAD A LOT ON HER MIND after finding out what Jules told her. She must've been lying, right? But then again, most of Jules predictions came true. Cora was no longer in a mood for her birthday but when she woke up to Rebekah in front of her, only to knock her out then take her over to the Mikaelson mansion. Her friendship with Rebekah confused her.

Now, Rebekah had her maidens dressing the two up for a ball. What Klaus didn't tell Cora was that it was a masquerade ball. Her hair was put into soft curls while her nails were being painted pink with gold embellishments. Rebekah was putting on a red gown with the help of her handmaidens and Cora watches with a paranoid expression.

Rebekah looks at the girl and rolls her eyes. "You look like you've seen a bloody ghost. Lighten up, Cora." She tells her and Cora shrugs mindlessly, already wearing the gown as the finish with her hair, makeup and nails (with a gold flower crown on her head). Rebekah sighs. "Out, all of you," she waves her hand and the handmaidens leave. "Now, what's bothering you? Is it Nik?"

"Whatโ€”no, no, it's uh, this is my first birthday without my brothers." She whispers. It wasn't the full truth but it was a part of the lie. Rebekah frowns and pulls the girl to her arms making Cora sigh, wrapping her arms around the petite girl as well.

"Well," Rebekah smiles and pulls away. "If you need time away from the ball, just go out to the garden. But for now," She stands up and picks up two masks. Rebekahs one was red with diamond embellishments, she wore light makeup with red lipstick while Cora wore one that matches her pink lips.

(but with a bit pink)

Coras mask was pink and gold. It's covered in pink with gold linings. Cora stands up, helping Rebekah put on her mask before she turns the vampire turns the human around, putting on the mask as well. The two look at the mirror before Cora turns to Rebekah, completely forgetting about her worries and wrapping her arms around the girl.

"I know I'm brilliant but what's the hug for?" Rebekah asks, lightly returning it and Cora smiles lightly, rubbing the girls arm.

"Absolutely nothing." Cora whispers and the blonde smiles widely as they link arms, walking out of the room. "Have you gotten yourself a date, Bekah?"

"Ah yes, his name is Marcel. Klaus agreed for me to go with him, only for tonight, under one condition." Rebekah smiles lightly at the girl. "You'll have to be his date."

Coras jaw dropped. "What?"

"Come on, I fancy Marcel, Klaus fancies you and you fancy him, we'll all be helping each other here." Rebekah gives her a cheeky smile as Cora considers it. They make their way down the stairs, not paying mine to the eyes watching them. "Come on, Cora. What're you going to lose?"

Cora looks at her before sighing. "Alright, but he better not have gotten me any gifts." She whispers as they make it to the bottom of the stairs.

Rebekah leans closer to her ears. "Too late." She whispers before unlinking her arms, wiggling her brows at the girl before turning and confidently making her way to Marcel who stared at her, jaw dropped. She turns around to see Klaus standing there, wearing black trousers, a white blouse, black blade and gold bow with a black mask.

He held a sly smile and walks over to her. "And there I thought you couldn't grow more beautiful." He breathes out and she smiles.

"I like your bow." She tilts her head to the side.

"You'll have to blame Rebekah for that." Klaus spoke softly and pulls a velvet box out of his pocket. Some had returned back to their conversation while others watched the two. "I've got you something."

Cora sighs. "This ball is enough, Niklaus..."

"I know but this didn't cost much."

"You stole it?"

"It was given to me." Klaus shakes his head, smiling softly. "About a thousand years agoโ€”"

"Because Thats completely ordinary."

Klaus laughs, stepping forward. "It was made by a specific witch." He shows his wrist to see a bracelet as well. "If you're ever in danger or in need of company," he brushes the hair from her face, "just tap on it twice and I'll be right by your side."

Coras lips curl up to a wide smile as she opens the box, seeing a beautiful gold bracelet in. She looks at Klaus before tapping it twice, when she looks up, she sees Klaus' bravely vibrating. She leans forward, kissing his cheek before looking down to the bracelet.

"It's beautiful." Cora whispers. "And extraordinary."

"Just as you are." Klaus says and she looks up, laughing as she rolls her eyes whilst shaking her head. He noticed she would avoid compliments.

Cora looks around and sees Charlie with Charlotte, talking to a bunch of guests making her look back at Klaus. "I'll be back in a moment." She whispers then turns around, walking over to the two.

Just as the guests walk away, Cora makes it to them. "Happy birthday Cora." Charlie whispers and leans forward, kissing her cheek and she smiles.

"Thank you. I'm glad you two made it." She smiles at Charlotte who weakly returns it.

"We found the beast that murdered our mother." Charlie smiles widely and her eyebrows shook up.

"You did?"

"Yes." Charlotte nods, also smiling. "We burned it then threw it to the bears. It was a wolf." She explains and Cora felt guilty. They didn't catch their mother's killer and killed an innocent animal.

Cora puts on a fake smile. "Thats..uh, that's lovely. Excuse me, I need some fresh air." She whispers, turning around and hurrying out to the garden.

As Cora makes it to the garden, she thought about what Jules told her some more. Maybe she could avoid it but then again, Jules tried to stop many things but it all went wrong. She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath before looking around the garden with a sly smile, taking off her mask.

She needed quiet, even for a short while. She looks around and kneels down, putting her hand in the clean fountain. Her nails were now dried up. She watches as the bracelet makes contact with the water and looks more beautiful than it did before.

"Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" She looks to see Klaus sauntering over to her (he had taken off his mask as well). She stands up straight, tilting her head to the side.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were following me. Or rather, stalking me as you do." Cora smirks.

Klaus puts his arms up. "Guilty." He admits and she laughs, shaking her head and he smiles at her. Coras laughter dies down snd she looks at the fountain with Klaus by her side. "Penny for your thoughts?"

She looks at him. "Nothing worth a penny, I can assure you." She smiles.

Klaus shrugs mindlessly before pulling out a piece of parchment. "Dear Ms.Salvatore, to whom it may concern," she looks at him with wide eyes, "I am delighted to verify thatโ€”"

"I'd that my Harvard letter?" She asks, wide eyed as he speaks over her.

"โ€”Cora Salvatore has been accepted to the Harvard medical university."

"What?!" Cora asks, face dropping. "Niklaus, give me that now!" She reaches forward but he holds it out of her reach with a smirk.

"Please accept my person congratulations for your personal achievements," Klaus continues reading and she grins widely. "In recent years, nearly twenty thousand students have applied for theโ€”"

"Niklaus!" Cora jumps into his arms, snatching the paper and looking down at it. As she rests her head on his chest, she begins reading from the paper before looking up at Klaus with a squeal. "I got accepted in! My father doubted me and now.." Klaus is awfully close to her. "..now.."

She gets silenced by Klaus' lips against hers.
