His ocean eyes stared directly into her e/c orbs.
She knew that what she had done was wrong and inhumane. She knew that and yet, she did it anyway.
"I can't even look at you." he scoffed.
"How...did it come to this? I just wanted it all to end, but not our relationship, too..." she paused, tears welling up in her eyes.
"You make me sick." he said. This wasn't the girl he grew up with. No, this was the monster she had to become.
"I just wanted this war to end." Y/n wiped away the tears in her eyes and stared at him.
Something in her clicked. The whispers of her ancestors overpowered her feelings for her beloved.
"And I'm going to do that, no matter what." she declared, staring into his ocean eyes.

"Y/n, wake up." a voice called out to the sleeping girl. Y/n's odd dream about a man and a woman arguing vanished and she couldn't even remember a trace of it.
"A few more minutes, Lada." Y/n grumbled, hiding her small figure under the thin blanket, making the woman chuckle.
"Wait...Lada?!" Y/n jolted awake, surprising her older sister. She stared at Lada in disbelief.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be training or guarding or...something?" the little girl inquired.
"Well, yeah, but guess what?" she teased. The little girl pouted, not liking the fact that she's being teased, but curiosity got the best of her.
"What?" the girl's curiosity perked up, interested in the reason as to why her older sister wasn't at work.
"Today's my day off!" she cheered, making the girl cheer as well. The two giggled at their silly actions.
It was as if her older sister's positivity affected her as well. She couldn't help but smile whenever her older sister came back home to visit her.
Usually, she would have to stay over at Armin's place because she was almost always left alone.
"What do you wanna do today? I have the whole day off, so we should go somewhere together." Lada suggested.
Lada serves the Survey Corps at the age of only 20 years old. She's very cheerful and positive.
She's a kind person. She took Y/n in, since her parents abandoned her on the streets, for some reason.
Ever since then, Y/n was convinced that they are both biological sisters, which Lada didn't seem to mind.
Since I'm the narrator and we're living in 2021, Lada is the type who would buy you any sort of cravings at any time, even if it's in the middle of the night.
"I wanna go stargazing tonight! And I wanna go shopping with you. We don't have to buy anything." the little girl grinned.
"That sounds like a great idea! Anything else? I don't mind doing them all today. After all, we don't get to see each other very often." Lada sighed.
"I wanna see the outside world!" the younger girl chirped. Lada's smile dropped as her body tensed.
Although Lada's strong when it comes to killing titans, she would be lying if she said she wasn't afraid of them.
She was afraid of losing Y/n and leaving her behind. Y/n had already been abandoned by her parents, she wasn't planning to abandon her yet.
That's why she would always come home late since she was out practicing even when it got dark.
She never told that part to Y/n, since she would scold her and tell her to stop overworking herself.
"L-Like I said, I'm on my day off, so I can't take you to the outside world. Maybe another time." she nervously laughed.
Y/n could sense that she was acting weird, but she chose not to question her about it since she didn't want to upset her.
Y/n realized that her older sister seemed sad and tired. She looked like she had cried herself to sleep before she got here.
"Anyways, breakfast is ready. I made your favorites!" she sang, leaving the girl drooling.
"Yay!" Y/n cheered, standing up and getting ready for the day before heading down to eat her favorite breakfast.
"Oh, yeah, can I go play with Armin, Eren, and Mikasa before we go?" Y/n asked, making Lada hum in response.
"Of course, just try not to get into any trouble." Lada warned as Y/n had finished up all of her breakfast.
She brushed her teeth with Lada. They liked to do this little dance while brushing their teeth and they even have a dance routine for it.
"I'll be going now! Bye!" Y/n exclaimed, waving goodbye to her sister, even though she's only going to leave for a bit.
"Yes, yes, goodbye. Don't forget to take care of yourself and come back before we're gonna go window shopping." she reminded.
"Okay!" Y/n replied, shutting the door behind her.

"What's wrong, heretic? If you don't like it, why don't you fight back?"
"As if I'd ever do that. The last thing I'd do is stoop to your level."
"What was that?!"
"You're only resorting to violence because you can't prove that I'm wrong! Doesn't that mean you admit I'm right?!"
"Shut your trap, you rambling nitwit!"
"Don't touch him." they heard a demanding voice. Although it was soft and quiet, they already knew who it was.
The three kids, who were bullying Armin, slowly turned their heads in the direction of the voice to see a familiar girl.
Her h/c hair swayed gently due to the soft impact of the wind. Her e/c eyes glowed brightly as if she was claiming the higher position.
"I-It's Y-Y/n." one of them stuttered.
"W-We have to run!" the other shrieked, turning their heel, only to be stopped by their leader.
"Oh, come on, she's just a measly girl. What's a girl gonna do to us?" their leader scoffed, approaching Y/n.
Armin's eyes widened as soon as he saw his friend. Y/n gave him a small glance and a little smile.
Armin wore a long-sleeved single-buttoned jacket with a collared shirt, long dress-pants, and dress shoes.
"Plus, I wouldn't even resort to violence if a girl this cute is standing in front of me." the leader smirked, forgetting the fact that she was Y/n, thanks to her new hairstyle that Lada had chosen for her younger sister.
"That's too bad. I resort to violence to both guys and girls. If I must, that is." Y/n replied, grabbing his wrist.
The leader was quick enough to retract his hand as he took a step back, now being cautious of the girl that he underestimated.
The leader abandoned all of the morals his mother taught him as he quickly threw a punch at the girl.
Y/n swiftly dodged the attack, grabbing his wrist once more and pulling it.
She brought his arm over his back and pushed him downwards to make his body land on the ground.
The other two knew they couldn't just stand there and fear the girl. They knew they had to fight back to regain their pride.
"Stop right there!" a boy called out to them, making his way over to the group of kids having a brawl.
Eren is wearing typical townsfolk attire, which consists of brown trousers, a green shirt with string tassels at the collar, a reddish-brown coat, and simple brown shoes.
"It's Eren! What an idiot. He came back for more."
"Itching for a beating, huh? We'll make you our sandbag!"
"Hold up, M-Mikasa's right behind him!" their leader pointed out.
"W-We're screwed!"
"Y/n is already hard to deal with, not Mikasa too!"
"Run!"
Since Y/n was distracted by Eren and Mikasa's sudden appearances, she didn't pay attention to the boy she was restraining.
The leader quickly pushed her off, since she was off guard, and ran for his life, along with his friends.
Y/n got back up on her feet and got ready to chase after them with Mikasa, but Armin blocked her path.
"Armin, why?" Y/n questioned as she stared into Armin's eyes.
"You're only gonna stoop down to their level if you resort to violence!" Armin told her.
"I suppose you're right..." she mumbled, turning around to face Eren and Mikasa, who had just arrived.
"Hey, they took off after seeing me!" Eren cockily claimed.
"No, they probably ran because of Mikasa and Y/n." Armin retorted, trying to take a step forward, only for him to stumble.
"Are you okay, Armin?" Y/n inquired, catching him before he fell. Mikasa and Eren glanced at Armin to wait for his response.
"I can stand on my own." Armin told her, gently pushing her off as he didn't want to hurt her.
"Oh, okay." Y/n muttered, letting him go. Armin never liked depending on Eren, Mikasa, and Y/n.

"So, when I said mankind would eventually need to go outside, they hit me, saying I was a heretic." Armin explained.
"Darn it." Eren cursed, grabbing a pebble and throwing it at the dirty river in front of them.
"Why does simply wanting to go outside turn everyone against us?" Eren scoffed, resting his arm on his knee.
"That's because it's been peaceful within the walls for the past 100 years. To prevent inviting them in through a reckless attempt to go outside, the king's government created a policy that made holding interest in the outside world taboo." Armin elucidated.
"We're risking our own lives. It's our own choice to make." Eren argued.
"I won't let you. You can't." Mikasa finally spoke up, catching their attention.
Mikasa's attire consisted of a simple knee-length white dress, a light pink cardigan, brown flats, and her signature maroon scarf.
"Oh yeah, I can't believe you ratted me out!" Eren accused.
"I don't remember saying I'd help." Mikasa retorted.
"What did your parents say about it?" the other girl spoke up, which also caught their attention.
"Well, they weren't...happy about it." Eren mumbled.
"I think those who believe the walls will forever provide a life of peace need to face reality." Armin shared his opinion.
"Just because the wall has done its job for the past 100 years, it doesn't guarantee that it won't be destroyed today." Y/n mumbled, gripping on her clothes.
Y/n's outfit consisted of a simple, fit, f/c long-sleeved shirt with loose, dark brown pants. She wore ankle flat heel boots.
"Not in the slightest." she whispered, staring at the water.
Suddenly, streaks of yellow crackled in the sky. Y/n looked up and noticed that the sky was still bright and there was no sign of rain at all.
After a few seconds after that sudden lightning, a massive tremor shook the ground, causing Y/n to stumble as she held onto an object nearby to avoid herself from falling off the stairs they were sitting on.
"Wh-What the?" Armin stood up as he lent Y/n a hand for her to grab. Y/n accepted his offer, making Armin pull her up.
"An explosion?" Eren guessed.
"It came from there!"
"Seems like something fell."
Armin took off running to check out what happened. The three had no choice but to follow after the curious boy.
Once the three had arrived, they panted for air and looked at Armin questionably.
"What's wrong? Just what are you staring at?" Eren asked, noticing the look of shock in his eyes.
Y/n followed the gaze of the boy standing next to her. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw a hand gripping on the wall.
"No way...that wall is fifty meters tall!" Armin shouted in disbelief.
"It can only mean one thing...the thing is either fifty meters tall or it's taller than the walls." Y/n stammered.
"It's them...a Titan!" Eren's voice quivered as its head peeked out of the other side of the wall.
People are watching, shocked and curious, and just at that moment, the Titan begins to lift its leg, plunging it through the Wall.
The onlookers are thrown back, and the remnants of the crushed Wall plummet into the city, crushing houses and squashing the townsfolk.
"Th-They blew a h-hole into the wall." Armin stuttered. The other three couldn't say a thing, they were only struck with fear.
As a horde of Titans forcibly entered the breach, the city turns into a panic-stricken area.
"Eren!" Armin called out, noticing Eren walking in the opposite direction of where they should be going.
"Our house is...Mom is..." Eren shook his head, not wanting to imagine horrible scenes that began to play in his mind.
"Mikasa!" Armin called out to his other friend as well, who ran after the boy who was heading to his own home.
Eren and Mikasa hurry through an already severely damaged residential area, hoping that their home is still intact.
Armin reached his hand out to try and call out to them, but his hand began to tremble.
He stared at it and used his other hand to bring his hand back down, knowing that he couldn't do anything to stop them.
"Lada..." Y/n's voice quavered in terror, remembering that her sister was still at home, waiting for her so that they could spend the whole day together.
"I-I have to go look for her!" Y/n turned around and ran in the direction of her house.
Armin wanted to follow her so badly, but he couldn't seem to move his feet. It was as if they were glued to the ground.

Over 100 years ago, natural predators of humanity appeared.
There was an insurmountable gap in power between them and mankind, and as a result, the humans soon faced utter annihilation.
The survivors responded by constructing three walls; Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sina, which graced us with 100 years of peace.
"Lada! Lada! Wake up!" I cried, shaking my older sister's body. Her body didn't move an inch.
She's the only family member I have left...I can't lose her.
"Lada, wake up...please." I pleaded, my vision beginning to blur as hot tears rolled down my cheeks.
She's the only person who took care of me when I had no one. She fed me, clothed me, sheltered me, and loved me. I can't lose her!
Before I knew it, I was suddenly struggling against a grip. And that's when I blacked out.
เผเผ เผ เผเผบเผปเผ เผ เผเผ
"Wh-What happened?" I whispered, slowly getting up from the uncomfortable floor.
"Y-Y/n! You're awake...thank goodness." Armin sighed in relief, staring at me with eyes that said, 'I'm glad you're okay'.
"What happened and where's Mikasa and Eren?" I questioned, turning to him for an answer.
"They breached Wall Maria. We're heading over to Wall Rose right now. Eren and Mikasa are over there." Armin pointed behind me.
I turned around and there they were. Eren was silent and so was Mikasa. None of them said a word to each other.
I don't see Carla around...which could only mean...that she got...
The thought of it made me want to throw up, but I forced myself not to do it.
"Hold on...what happened to Lada?" I inquired, looking at Armin. He avoided my gaze as his lips quivered.
"N-No..." I stammered, tears swelling up in my eyes again. My only family member...the only person who didn't abandon me.
I felt tears run down my cheeks. I wiped them away with my sleeves, but they never stopped flowing.
"Y/n..." Armin called out to me, feeling bad. Maybe if I didn't leave her alone, she would still be alive.
Or maybe if we went out shopping earlier, she would still be alive.
No, think about it. Whose fault is it?
Who is the one to blame?
Who is the reason for all of this chaos?
Who murdered your only family member left?
Eren stood up and stared into the place we were now leaving. That stopped my train of thoughts.
"I'll exterminate them! From this world...not sparing a single one..." Eren's voice quavered in anger, his eyes representing hate.
Ah yes, whose fault is it that we're in this mess?
We can only blame the titans.
That year, the central government handed down the decision to reduce mankind's territory to Wall Rose.
During this time, the people devoured numbered around 10, 000.

"Y/n! I brought us some bread." Armin ran over to the girl, who looked almost lifeless.
"Y/n..." Armin mumbled, frowning at the girl's state. She had fallen silent ever since she heard of her one and only sister's death.
She couldn't even gather up the energy to pretend. She couldn't even smile at him. She wanted to, but she couldn't. How could she?
"Uh...thanks." Y/n muttered out a, 'thanks', as she accepted the bread that Armin had been offering her for a while.
"Grandpa got extra rations when he told them he had children to feed." Armin tried to lighten up the atmosphere, trying his best to cheer the girl up, but his efforts were in vain.
Eren and Mikasa join up with Armin and Y/n to receive their food rations when they overhear soldiers talking about the food shortage due to the refugees from Wall Maria.
"Having already broken past the wall, shouldn't they have snacked on more people?" the soldier laughed.
"At this rate, the food shortage issue is only going to get worse." he sighed. Eren became angry and stomped his way over to him.
Eren stepped back when he noticed Y/n walking towards the soldier instead. Eren couldn't help but shiver when he saw the look on Y/n's face.
Her eyes were completely lifeless as if something had sucked the life out of her. Her lips were no longer curved upward or downward, they were just straight.
Y/n had all the emotion of wet concrete, her facial muscles just as loose. There was no anger, no sadness, no joy, or resentment.
Even Mikasa couldn't help but feel bad. They heard about what happened from Armin.
After all, he was there when he saw Y/n collapsed on the ground. She most likely fainted.
He had to carry her to the evacuation area while trying not to get caught by the Titans.
Due to Y/n's short stature, she could only kick the soldier in the leg. Still, the soldier stumbled backward and grunted from the impact.
"What's your problem, you brat?!" the soldier attempts to hit Y/n in the face, but his punch didn't make contact with it as she dodges it.
"Wh-Why you!" the soldier threw another punch, hoping to make it land on her cheek so that his pride wouldn't get crushed.
The man, next to the soldier, knees Y/n at the side, making her fall on the hard, rocky ground.
"You don't understand. You haven't seen them with your own eyes. You don't know the pain of losing your only family member! So shut up, you arrogant swines!" Y/n yelled.
It was the first time they heard Y/n yell in such a tone. Usually, she would yell in a scolding manner or a demanding tone, but this time, it was completely different.
Her voice was filled with frustration, sadness, grief, but mostly pain. Her voice was dry from holding in her sobs.
"You haven't seen them at all! The way titans eat people..." Eren defended Y/n, standing in front of her with his arms spread to protect her from getting hit.
"Sh-Shut up!" the soldier yelled, not knowing what to do since the two of them were right. His pride was too much to admit it.
"We're sorry! Their hunger's causing them to become irritatable. That's why they're being rude to an adult. We're really sorry!" Armin apologized on their behalf.
Mikasa jogged over to her three, childhood friends. She offered Y/n a hand, which she took.
"Geez. It's thanks to us that you're not dying of starvation! Even kids should at least be appreciative of that!" the soldier walked away
