I sat at the table with Thor, stealing the chips from his bowel. I glanced over at the people entering the room but looked back to the floor and lent back in my seat as It was just the rest of the team.
"Thanos spent a long time trying to perfect me. And when he worked, he talked about his 'Great Plan'. Even disassembled, I wanted to please him. I'd ask... where would we go once his plan was complete? And his answer was always the same." The blue robot, Nebula, walked towards the middle table. "'To the Garden'."
"That's cute. Thanos had a retirement plan." Rhodes shrugged. "So, where is he?"
A hologram of the planet lit up in the centre. "When Thanos snapped his fingers. Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one's ever seen anything like it. Until two days ago.." The planet zoomed out and onto another that was way away from this one. "on this planet."
"Thanos is there."
"He used the stones again." Nat said to herself but loud enough for everyone to hear. "Hey, hey, hey." Bruce chuckled in. "We'd be going in shorthanded, you know?"
"Look, he's still got the stones, so..."
"So, let's get 'em." The new girl spoke up. "Use them to bring everyone back."
"Just like that?" Banner asked. "Yeah. Just like that." Steve nodded in agreement. "Even if there's a a small chance that we can undo this... I mean, we owe it to everyone who's not in this room to try."
"If we do this, how do we know it's gonna end any differently than it did before?" Bruce argued. "Because before you didn't have me."
"Hey, new girl? Everybody in this room is about that superhero life. And if you don't mind me asking, where the hell have you been all this time?" Rhodes explained while I huffed in my seat at team. "There are a lot of other planets in the universe. And unfortunately they didn't have you guys."
Thor looked at Carol then glanced to me before looking back at the blonde woman and standing up from his seat. I watched him walk over to her, her back to him until he was behind her. She turned to face him, neither breaking eye contact as Thor held his arm out, summoning Stormbreaker.
"Wow." I muttered to myself, popping one last chip in my mouth and getting up. "I like this one." Carol finally broke eye contact, glancing to me who was now at Thor's side. "Definitely a keeper." I smirked.
"Let's go get this son of a bitch."

We all loaded up in the ship, Tony staying back at compound. I was sitting to Steve's left, my mind racing with thoughts. "Okay. Who here hasn't been to space?" Rocket asked. Me, Steve, Nat and Rodney all raised our hand. "Why?" I heard the War machine ask Thor in a whisper and I held in a laugh but heard Carol's chuckle. "You better not throw up on my ship."
"We won't, Remy." I said to myself. "I heard that. Stop calling me the rat from that film." I glanced to Nat and we shared a smile at the Ratatouille joke. "Approaching jump in three... two, one"
I grabbed onto the chair, I was sitting on, tightly. My knuckles turning white. I felt the energy through the ship. Different colours flashed from the outside and I held my breath waiting for this to be over.
As soon as it stopped I opened one eye, feeling the ship slowly float. I opened my other eye and looked around. I moved my hand to my stomach and felt a wave of relief until. "Umm Rocket." I called out. "What happens if we need to... you know."
"Seriously, Anara. What did I say? In the back." I quickly unbuckled myself and rushed up, rushing past the rest. As soon as I got to a bucket I threw up the contents in my stomach and knelt ahead on it. I used my left arm to hold on to the wall on my left. I closed my eyes, hoping to be done. I used the sleeve of my suit, a spare one of Natasha's she let me borrow, and wiped my mouth. It felt like my head was spinning and I slowly maneuverer myself so I was sitting behind the wall.
I breathed out, my eyes closed. The stress plus the space jumping just made my nerves act up. I know we're about to get the stones back, but something isn't right. I can't feel the mind stone like I should.
"I'll head down for recon." I heard Carol through the speakers and snapped myself out of thought, pushing myself off the wall to stand up. I slowly walked back to my seat, using the chairs to make sure I didn't fall.
"She's pretty." I said, looking over Steve's shoulder at the compass in his hand. A picture of a brunette was placed in it, it looked like an old photo. He shut it quickly, looking up to me. "She was... Are you oaky?" I put on a smile that didn't quite reach my eyes. "Yeah. Maybe next time I should stay back." I laughed and sat back in my seat, fiddling with the rings on my fingers.
"This is gonna work." My head shot up to look at the ex assassin. "I know it will." Steve answered.
"Cause I don't know what I'm gonna do if it doesn't." I replied back quieter, looking down to my lap as I played with a ring on my finger that matched Wanda's.
"No satellites. No ships. No armies." Danvers spoke to us through the radio device. "No ground defences of any kind. It's just him."
"And that's enough." Nebula said. We all got prepared in mostly silence as Nebula and Rocket piloted the ship closer towards the planet and 'The Garden'.

The jet landed away from the cabin that was built in the middle of the field. Thanos's armour was hung outside like a scarecrow.
Carol rushed in first, zooming through the straw building and landing a hit to the titan. Running and wrapping herself around him, she held him in a chokehold. Bruce in the Hulk buster suit came from under the ground, grabbing his left hand and holding it away. Rhodes in his suit came from the other side, holding back Thanos's right hand.
Thor flew into the room, axe in hand and ready to use, cutting the titan's gloved hand off smoothly. The burnt metal over the purple skin dropped to the floor, Thanos's screaming filled the little cabin.
Steve lead the way into the door, Nat and myself following behind. Rocket went off to the gauntlet. Turning it over, his eyes widened at the glove.
"Oh, no." I looked to Steve, following his sight down to the empty gauntlet. My mouth dropped open, seeing all hope flutter from my eyes.
"Where are they?" Steve spoke. I looked up to Thanos. "Answer the question." Carol demanded. "The universe required correction. After that, the stones served no purpose... beyond temptation." Thanos breathed out through gritted teeth.
"You murdered trillions!" Bruce yelled, pushing the purple being back. "You should be grateful." Thanos answered back, Banner just took another swing at him.
"Where are the stones?" Natasha gathered herself enough to ask. I glanced between her and Thanos. "Gone. Reduced to atoms." I gasped lightly, tears glassing my eyes. I knew it was to good to be true, but knowing that they are gone, for good, it hurts. "You used them two days ago." Banner added.
"I used the stones to destroy the stones." All hope vanished from his words. "It nearly killed me. But the work is done. It always will be. I am inevitable."
"We have to tear this place apart. He has to be lying!" Rhodes spoke. "My father is many things. A liar is not one of them." Nebular corrected. "Ah. Thank you, daughter. Perhaps I treated you too harshly."
Before Thanos could get up, I held my arms out. Sapphire ingulfed the titans neck and I swiped my right arm over my left, Thanos's head dethatching itself from its body and dropping opposite to his body. I was stood frozen, looking at the dead titan.
Steve grabbed my arm, turning me to him. "What did you do?" Rocket asked from our side. You could tell from my eyes I was distant. "She went for the head." Thor stated for me and with that I ignored everyone and walked out of the building, hurrying down the steps and to the side. I lent over, throwing up again to the ground.
I wiped the back of my hand over my mouth and stood up, seeing Thor standing by the steps, his eyes locked on me. I ignored him, walking past the god and towards the ship, not sparing any glances to anyone. The whole ride back we sat in silent. Our last chance gone.
