Chaos. Two foreign worlds, two diverse perspectives of life, two sides of war are clashing in the halls of a once-serene school. Cries. Cries of despair, cries of pain, cries of triumph and cries of madness called out between the blaze of one immense duel. Curses and jinxes flew across the room, an unknown fate awaited whoever the enchantments touched.

I ran into the battle as Bellatrix Lestrange disappeared into the frenzy that sparked around her. I lost her. "Expelliarmus! Shit..." I hear a familiar voice yell out. Turning, I found Tonks face to face with Fenrir Greyback. She was crouched on the floor, holding her shoulder in pain with her wand clasped loosely in her other.

Greyback smiled, beginning to rush towards Tonks, baring his teeth. "Stupefy!" I yell, my jinx harshly colliding with his back. I watched in amazement as the spell ricocheted over his body, causing his limbs to seize up as he fell to the floor, unconscious. Before she could thank me a masked man gripped me harshly by my shoulder.

His nails broke through my skin as I desperately flung my body around to escape. I cried out in pain as he laughed at my struggle. He began to raise his wand, muttering about how he would take Mr Malfoy's spot as the Lord's right-hand man once he revealed he was the one to kill Y/n Snape. Strange. "Levicorpus!" I managed to strike while the man was distracted, now having him dangling by his ankle a couple of feet above the stone ground. "Decendio!" I yelled, forcing the man's body to smash into the ground. He was out cold.

"She's there!" Another yelled, his wand raised at me. Before he could attack, Hermione jumped at my side, freezing the man a moment before he reached me, then sending him flying out of a window. I thanked her profusely, while she began to berate at me for being here.

Suddenly two masked women appeared on either side of Hermione and me, forcing us to stand back to back. "Back off bitch, Y/n Snape is mine." One yelled at the other, as they both readied their wands. What is happening?

"Oh no! I'm going to kill the blood traitor, and then our Lord will make me his Lady!" The other screeched, as they began to bicker back and forth. Are they seriously arguing over who gets to kill me so Voldemort will marry them? Hermione and I gave each other one look and we slowly backed away as the two women began firing harmful curses at each other.

We didn't have a moment to breathe as once again, my eyes landed on Bellatrix Lestrange, who was grinning devilishly at me. What does she want? What do they all want? They must be pretty desperate to suddenly attack Hogwarts like this. How did they get in? I need answers...

"Y/n, no!" I heard Hermione yell as I chased after the psychotic mass murderer. Footsteps followed me as I ran down the hallway. A brief glance back I see Hermione, Ron, Neville, Luna and Ginny were hot on my tail. My eyes focused ahead of me, and I noticed Lestrange had disappeared. Strange.

A hand came out of nowhere and pulled me down a deserted one-way corridor. Warm brown eyes looked down at me with a comforting smile to complement her soft features. My friends rushed around the corner, their wands readied. "Cissa!" I smiled, pulling her into a hug.

"Everyone, come. Hide here." For a moment, they all hesitated, all but Luna, who happily skipped towards me and Narcissa Malfoy. I encouraged everyone to come closer, swearing on my life that Narcissa could be trusted. "Where is he?" She began after briefly greeting everyone.

"Draco?" I asked as she nodded, her eyes swelled with suspense and worry. "I haven't seen him all night... we've been at a party..." I frowned, asking everyone else here if they'd seen him. Everyone shook their head as sadness overcame our group watching Narcissa's eyes bulge with tears.

"Wait-" Neville began, looking at Narcissa. Her head shot up, her eyes looking hopeful. "I think I saw Malfoy and Riddle by the library on my way to the party." He spoke quietly, rather intimated by the woman with us. "Do you remember, Ron?" He turned to the blond girl, who smiled widely.

"Now that you mention it, I think I did see them go to the library." Ron nodded, looking around the group. Strange. Why the library at this time of night? Why the library over a party?

"I think I've seen them too when I went looking for Harry after he disappeared halfway through the night." Luna added with a small smile playing on her lips. "Although I can't remember where, or when."

"Bless you, dears. Bless you three, thank you for your help." Narcissa smiled, pulling the three of them into a tight hug. Luna gratefully accepted the gesture, while Neville and Ron looked completely taken off guard and lost the ability to react to the moment. "Now for the real reason I'm here." She frowned, her face growing serious as she turned toward me. Merlin, have mercy.

"If you think they are here for Potter, which I assume you have since he is not here, you are gravely mistaken, children." Narcissa began as she placed a soft comforting hand on my shoulder. "They have other plans for Potter, plans they have yet to even tell me." She took a deep breath as tears fell from her eyes. An explosion rocked the hall, as debris began to fall from the ceiling.

"You don't have much time!" She yelled over the thundering screams of children. Narcissa reached into her pocket, pulling out a small vile and handing it to Hermione. "You are Miss Granger, correct? The one my son always complains about being better than him at Potions?" Hermione nodded, unable to speak. "I shall trust you both with this." Narcissa turned back to me. "That is the only thing that will save your father, Y/n. He doesn't have much time left, he's going to get worse, fast." She cried, pulling me into a hug. "They are here for you, Y/n! They want you dead. Don't you dare let them kill you, you are like my daughter, I can't- I can't lose my daughter and my best friend!" Narcissa bawled her eyes out, as we all collectively gasped.

Hermione and Ginny began to sob, trying their best to muffle their cries. "Why are they after her!" Ron yelled, his face red with anger. Narcissa explained that she wasn't sure, all she knows is that a second prophecy was discovered. "The bloody hell does that mean?" Ron started wide-eyed at us, frantically praying for an answer.

"It- it means, just like Harry, Y/n has a prophecy that foretells her fate. A fate which must have something to do with You-Know-Who!" Hermione managed to get out in between her harsh choking-on tears. Everyone shifted uncomfortably at her words, unable to grasp the reality we now face.

"So what does that mean for Y/n?" Neville asked the dreaded question as his hands shook. No one spoke, no one wanted to say it. Once someone said it, it was real. Too real. However, we can't hide from reality, we mustn't ignore what is right in front of us.

"They want me dead. They want me dead as much as they want Harry dead." I spat angrily, my fists clenched until my knuckles turned white. "Is this why- is this why they attacked my father?" Tears threatened to spill as I glared at the ground, trying my hardest not to cry in front of everyone.

"Y/n..." Ginny spoke softly, trying to reach out only for me to pull away. I didn't need their pity, I must save my father. My head shot up to Hermione as she stepped forward. I knew she saw the determination in my eyes, and I knew she understood not to get in my way.

"I must go now, Merlin only knows what would happen to my son if they found me here helping you." Narcissa spoke out, breaking the silence. "Y/n dear, be safe, please. Be safe for your mother, live to save your father." She muttered, trying to hug me, but I didn't respond. A moment later, she had taken off.

"What now?" Luna frowned, her voice growing small as we looked down the hallway now engulfed in silence and flames. Nothing could be heard, a stark contrast from a few minutes ago.

"We save my father." I answered with fury in my eyes. Not a moment later we found ourselves running through abandoned hallways. Traces of battles echoed from the rubble on the floor, the cracked walls, the fires still roaring and the odd crimson stain. Luckily, we haven't found a single body.

A growl rubbled from our left as we ran past a darkened hallway. Two men stood blanketed by the darkness, facing us. We quickly got into our stances, readying our wands. Out steps Greyback who looked completely rejuvenated and utterly infuriated. All the werewolf did was stare at me, his eyes burning into my skin as droll dripped from his red-stained lips. The other man then revealed himself, stepping forward into the light while getting rid of his silver mask. "Come now, children. Let's not be so rash. We shall leave Hogwarts, and your classmates, untouched, if you give me the girl." Lucius Malfoy spat, his cold emotionless voice dominating our eardrums, causing a nauseating sensation to linger in the air.

"In your dreams, blondie!" Neville yelled, firing a few spells with Ginny, giving as a chance to run. Greyback was hot on our tail, gaining speed as his feet slammed into the stone, vibrating the room with his thunderous steps.

"This way!" I yelled, remembering a shortcut I discovered when I was seven and running away for the prefects who had volunteered to babysit me. I haven't had to use this passage since then, and I'll admit I had almost forgotten about it. "Ostende mihi viam" I yelled, watching the solid stone walls become slightly transparent, mimicking water. My friends yelled as I dove towards the wall, the moment they saw my body phasing through it, they followed suit.

"Ego vidi viam" I yelled the moment the last person, Ron, jumped in. The wall snapped back to solidity just as Malfoy fired the killing curse. We all sat silently processing the past events.

"Bloody hell." Ron gasped, reaching to feel his forehead where a small cut had formed. Slowly, we stood, taking in our surroundings. Untouched and unchanged from when I was seven, the halls were lit with warm white flames on top of marble pillars. The walls too were made out of marble, with golden archways. The ceiling had a painting of the night sky, with small shooting stars and galaxies that moved when you moved.

"What is this place?" Hermione asked, looking around in awe. "Is this safe?" She added, looking rather uneasy. I nodded, explaining to the group how I came to discover this passage, as I took the first steps down the hallway which appeared to have no end.

"As far as I'm aware, no one else knows about this place. It wasn't even on the marauders' map." I finished as the others began to follow. We never let our guard down, our wands are always ready to strike. We walked, and walked, and walked, and walked... after minutes spent gawking at the ceiling and wishing for an end, a door appeared to our right.

Ron stepped forward, slowly turning the golden circular handle. The door silently pushed open, allowing the ginger to peek down the hall. After a moment of deathly silence, Ron decided to step out, taking a glance down the other end of the hallway. "It's clear." He muttered, his body relaxing as he pushed the door open, holding it for us.

We all filed out, the door fading into stone the moment we closed it. This hallway, unlike the one we escaped from, was completely untouched by the battle. However, not hearing a single sound, not a single indication of life, was terribly painful to hear. I'm not sure what would be worse, hearing nothing... or hearing everything. It was like everyone present had vanished into thin air.

"I remember where we are. The hospital wing is just down-" A chuckle. A haunting, ear-scraping, paralysing, high-pitched chuckle came from the end of the hallway. Bellatrix Lestrange. There she stood with heavy bags under her eyes, her skin as pale and dirty as freshly pulled garlic from the ground. Her curly hair sprang out in each direction despite her attempts at tying it back. Bellatrix was the only thing in my way from saving the only blood family I have left. She won't prevent me from achieving my goal.

I ran. I ran after the woman, who didn't hesitate to run away too. I needed to run towards her, I needed to get to my father. Bellatrix erupted with howling laughter as we ran through the castle. "Baby Snape is chasing me!" She cried with pure adrenaline flashing behind those maddened eyes.

She laughed once more, before suddenly stopping. Suddenly, two people appeared at her side from a cloud of black smoke. Now stood beside Lestrange, were two slim figures, slightly taller than Lestrange. They wore the outfit of a death eater, from the black cloak concealing their body to the silver mask hiding their complexions. Who were they?

They raised their wands and raised her wand. "AVADA KEDAVRA!" Lestrange screamed along with the two others, three individual bolts of green light shooting out from the tips of their wands, barrelling towards me.

I always assumed the moment I'd die, my life would flash before my eyes. I'd recall my bright childhood running through fields of flowers with Astoria, and forcing Prefects to chase me down the halls of Hogwarts. Discovering many secrets of Hogwarts, notably the enchanting room behind the restricted section. Celebrating with my father when I received my Hogwarts letter. Befriending the golden trio and spending hours chasing villains and saving the school, much to my father's dismay. Passing my O.W.Ls, and making it into the quidditch team. Befriending the most unlikely of people. No. There was only one person on my mind as the green light inched closer.

It was... him. How strange.

Instinctively, I raised my hand as the cold light reached me. An explosion of green blasted around me, cracking the ancient walls and shattering the antique windows. I could faintly hear the pained scream of Lestrange as the others.

My eyes slowly opened upon the daunting realisation that I was still breathing. I found myself looking at a translucent blue barrier which encompassed us, originating from the palm of my hand. Small flecks and arches of lighting twirling around my hand down to my wrist.

Slowly, I lowered my hand, looking at an unconscious Bellatrix and the two fingers pouring over the madwoman. My mind raced thinking of who this could be, who could cast the spell at me like that, who would completely and utterly want me dead? Then it clicked. My heart raced with anxiety and heartache. The only two people I haven't seen this evening were... Mattheo and Draco...

I looked back at the group, my eyes wide with hysteria as my breath deepened. I began to worry, worry they never cared, worry that they used me, that they took me in to kill me. I could breathe. They used me. They used me to kill me. To kill me. I thought- Riddle he-

"Y/n!" A voice screamed, from down the hall. The voice was wild with anger, panic and fear. I knew that voice. I knew... his voice. That wasn't him. They weren't them! Mattheo came running around the corner, his eyes furiously locked ahead of him. Until he saw me, until he saw the situation behind me. Soon, Draco and Harry came running around the corner. Harry looking displeased to be left with the blond while Draco huffed and puffed, trying to catch his breath and muttering about how he was going to smother Riddle in his sleep for making him run so bloody much.

"Wait, if you are there, then who is that?" Neville spoke, as we all turned towards the two people. They seemed ready to fly out of here, they were going to escape. Not on my watch. I summoned their masks into my hands, their hoods falling from their heads. There, drowning in fright and utter shock, was Parkinson and-

"Astoria?" I choked back some tears that immediately formed seeing her face. "You're a-" She's a death eater, why didn't I see the signs? Of course, she hates me, of course, she doesn't want to be my friend. "You used the killing course on me." My desperate, soul-ripping, lung-crushing need to bawl my eyes out was quickly dimmed by the growing rage I felt.

"You used the killing curse on me. To do that, you would actually want to see me die, you'd want to have die so desperately to use that spell." I yelled, tears streaming down my face. "I defended you! To everyone who told me you'd turn out just like your parents. I defended you! You were my sister! You tried to kill me and my father!" My father. I sighed, "I don't have time to waste my breath on scum like you." I spat, running towards them.

In a panic, Pansy grabbed Lestrange's unconscious body and Astoria, flying out through a window into the darkness of night. I didn't care, they weren't my target.

The Hospital Wing doors flew open as I desperately sprinted towards my father's side. Draco and Mattheo stood either side of me, while the others crowded around too. I poured the bottle Narcissa had handed to Hermione into my father's mouth...
