The concert had been a whirlwindβTaylor had poured everything into it, as she always did. The crowd screamed her name, and the lights flashed so brightly that she could barely see past them. But inside, she felt like she was running on empty.
She had been pushing herself for months. The end of the Eras Tour was in sight, and after everything that had happened with the playoffs and Travis's team, she didn't want to let anyone down. But deep down, she knew she wasn't okay. She hadn't been eating properly, hadn't been sleeping enough. Still, she kept pushing.
As she sang All Too Well on stage that night, something inside her finally snapped. Her legs felt like jelly, her vision swam, and before she could even process what was happening, her body gave out.
Everything went black.
When she came to, the first thing she noticed was the smell of Travis's cologne. He was holding her hand, his touch comforting. Slowly, she opened her eyes, meeting his worried gaze.
"Taylor?" he asked softly, his voice strained with concern. "Hey, are you okay?"
She blinked, trying to focus. "What happened?"
"You passed out," Travis explained gently, his eyes scanning her face. "You scared the hell out of me."
She winced, feeling embarrassed. "Did I miss the show?"
"No," he said, his voice reassuring but still laced with worry. "You didn't miss it. You just collapsed. We moved you to the lounge to rest."
Taylor's heart was pounding in her chest, a mix of panic and shame flooding her. She hated making people worry about her, especially Travis. "I'm fine. Really, I'm fine."
But Travis didn't seem convinced. "I'm glad you're okay. But you have to take better care of yourself, Taylor. You're not invincible."
She nodded weakly, feeling a lump form in her throat. "I didn't sleep well last night," she muttered, trying to make an excuse. "Just... tired."
Travis studied her, clearly sensing that she was hiding something, but he didn't push. Instead, he cupped her face gently, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I don't care how tired you are. You need to eat.
Taylor winced, her stomach twisting as she realized she hadn't eaten enough for days. "I'll try," she whispered.
The next morning, Taylor woke up feeling groggy, but there was a gnawing hunger in her stomach. She knew she should eat. She really did. But after everything that happened last night, she wasn't sure she wanted to. Her phone buzzed on the table beside her, and against her better judgment, she checked it.
There it wasβanother post about her body. Another set of cruel comments, saying she looked "bigger" than before, questioning her worth. The words were like daggers, piercing her self-esteem. She scrolled through more, reading harsh judgments about her appearance. She hated how it made her feelβsmall, insignificant.
Travis came into the room, smiling and holding a tray of breakfast. "I made you breakfast," he said brightly, setting the tray down beside her. "Eggs, toast, fruit. I know you haven't been eating enough lately. You need to keep your energy up."
She forced a smile, but she didn't feel like eating. Her stomach twisted at the thought of food. The posts on her phone were still fresh in her mind, gnawing at her.
"I'm not really hungry," she said quietly, pushing the plate away slightly.
"Taylor," Travis's voice softened, but there was a hint of concern. "You have to eat. You barely ate last night, and I know you didn't have much at lunch either."
"I'm just not hungry," she muttered, trying to avoid his gaze. She didn't want to explain the real reason. She didn't want to tell him that the internet's cruel words had made her feel like she didn't deserve food.
Travis wasn't buying it. He sat down beside her, looking at her with a soft intensity that made her heart ache. "Taylor, I've been watching you. You've barely eaten anything. I'm not letting you keep doing this to yourself."
She swallowed hard, not wanting to face him, but not being able to look away either. Her eyes filled with tears. "I saw the posts," she whispered, her voice trembling. "People... people are saying things about my body. I don't know. I just... I don't feel like I deserve to eat."
His heart clenched at her words. He gently cupped her face with his hands, forcing her to look at him. "Taylor, those people don't know you. They don't know how incredible you are. You're perfect, just the way you are. No one gets to tell you who you should be or how you should look."
She shook her head, tears falling. "But... I don't look like I did before. People notice. They're talking about me."
"I don't care what they say," Travis said firmly, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "I see you. I see everything you are, and I love every single part of you. I don't care if you look different. I love you for who you are, not what anyone thinks you should be. You're perfect, Taylor. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise."
She sniffled, wiping her eyes, but his words were like a balm to her wounded heart. "I don't know if I can keep ignoring what they say..."
"You don't have to ignore it," Travis said, kissing her forehead softly. "Just know that I'm here. And I think you're perfect exactly as you are. You don't need to change for anyone."
She looked at him, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. She hadn't realized how much she needed to hear those words. How much she needed him to remind her that she was enough.
"Promise me you'll eat," he said, his voice gentle but serious. "I need you to take care of yourself. You're not just some picture on the internet. You're so much more than that."
She nodded slowly, wiping her face and picking up the fork. "Okay. I'll eat."
Travis smiled, relief flooding through him. "Good. Because I'm not going anywhere. And I'm not going to let you do this to yourself. You deserve so much more."
As she took the first bite, Taylor felt a weight lift off her shoulders. It wasn't easy, but with Travis by her side, it felt like maybe she could face the world a little easier. Maybe she didn't have to be perfect. Maybe, just maybe, she could be enough.
