Chapter Forty-Three
๐ŸฆŠ Letharia Vulpina ๐ŸฆŠ

Wren, Derek and Scott come running into the parking lot only for Derek throw his arms out in front of them making them stop. Looking down, there was a giant puddle of water and the broken wire sat in the middle of it. Basically creating a giant puddle of electrified death.

They looked back up to see Kira standing in the water, unfazed and grab the wire. They watch in shock and amazement as Kira covered the end of the wire with her fist, all the lights around them flickers as she absorbed the electricity. She opened her eyes, looking over at them with glowing orange eyes making Wren let out an impressed chuckle.

When she dropped the wire, that's when Derek and Wren noticed Isaac lying in the puddle making them instantly ran over to them, "Isaac?" Wren asked as she grabbed his face before she leaned in to listen for a second before looking at Derek alarmed.

"He's not breathing... Scott, he's not breathing!"

Walking out the elevator the first thing Melissa and Scott noticed was Wren sleep on the bench in front of Isaac's room. "Hey, Wren." Scott said softly as she gently grabbed Wren's shoulder making her wake up, "Have you been here all night?" Scott asked and Wren nodded as she sat up. "Yeah... They won't let me see him because I'm not family. I told them he doesn't have any."

"He's got us." Melissa said making them look at her, "And I've got a key card." She said holding a card as Wren stood up. She swiped the card through the scanner making the doors open to reveal Isaac laying still in a hospital bed. "Be quick." Melissa said and they all nodded before walking into the room.

Scott walked over to Isaac, Wren walking over to the opposite side of him, "I thought he'd be healing by now." Wren said and Scott nodded in agreement. "So did I." He said before he gently grabbed Isaac's arm, "Is he in pain?" Wren asked and Scott nodded nodded.

Black veins trailed from Isaac arms to Scott hands as he squeezed his eyes shut and groaned for a moment before pulling his hands away, "It won't heal him, but it helps with the pain." Scott and Wren nodded slightly before sigh.

"Stiles didn't really do this, did he?" She asked and Scott shook his head, "Whatever's controlling him did it- whatever's inside him." Scott said, looking over at her and she nodded. "Well, then how do we get whatever's inside of him the hell out of him?" She asked and Scott sighed.

"We're working on it."

"Listen up! Anybody catches the slightest glimpse of Stilinski, you contact the first available teacher- got it? Got it??? There's a card on my desk for Isaac Lahey, and every one of you losers is not only going to sign it, you're gonna write a personal message so profound and deep, it's gonna bring a tear to Coach's eye! Who's first? Ah, Danny! That's how you do it, buddy! Keep it PG." Coach said to the cross country/lacrosse team in the locker room.

"No Stiles, no demonic ninjas." Aiden said as he, Ethan, Scott and Wren stood behind a row of lockers, "Things are getting too quiet." Ethan said and Scott nodded "Yeah, I know... Yeah, it's making me nervous, too."

Wren was about to say something but but stopped when the guys all turned their head, "Do you guys hear that?" Ethan asked making Wren look at them confused. "Hear what?" Wren asked looking back and forth between each of them, "Guys, no supernatural hearing over here."

"It's an emitter. One of Argent's." Scott answered. They all looked at each other confused for a second before walking out of the locker room. "It's coming from the basement." Ethan said and they instantly started running down to the basement.

When they got down the stairs they looked around before freezing. At the end of the hall, Stiles turned around holding an emitter. "Okay, I know what you guys are thinking, but it's me. I swear to God, it's me." Stiles says, holding his hands up.

The twins suddenly growled and charged forward, pushing Stiles into the wall. "Wait! Stop!" Scott yelled as he and Wren ran over and pulled them off of him. "I said stop!" Scott yelled as he tossed Ethan into a couple lockers. Aiden growled at Scott making Scott flash she red eyes and roar which made Aiden back off.

It was quiet as Scott and Wren both turned to Stiles warily, "It's me, Scott, Wren. I swear it's me. I don't know where I've been the last two days, or what I've been doing, but this is me. I promise." Stiles said looking back and forth between them. "You know what happened at the hospital?" Ethan asked.

"I know more than that." Stiles said then moved to a bag and pulled out some blueprints, "You see this? It's a blueprint of the hospital's electrical wiring. You see all these markings in red." Stiles said and Wren slowly crouched down next to him to look at it. "That's my handwriting. I know I did this. I caused the accident." Stiles said making both Wren and Scott look at him, "And everything in this bag? It's all stuff that could be part of something bigger."

"What the hell have you been up to?" Ethan asked pulling out an electric saw, "I think it's something worse... A lot worse."

They set the bad a table and started pulling out various chains, ropes, tools, duck tape, wire. "What the hell were you doing? Building a Terminator?" Aiden asked looking at everything. "Thank you for that." Stiles said sarcastically. "Guys this is a map." Scott said, unfolding some paper.

"Isn't that the cross-country trail?" Ethan asked, tracing his finger along a red line, "That's the Tate car- where Malia Tate's family died." Scott said glancing up at everyone making Wren close her eyes and sigh, "You mean, that's where her father put the steel-jawed traps." Wren said slowly glancing at everyone.

Stiles's jeep scratched to a halt as they pulled up to the start of the cross-country trail. "Coach!" Stiles said as they hopped out "Stilinski!" Coach said, looking at Stiles in shock as they ran up to him. "Coach, listen close-" Stiles said before starting to explain.

"Scott! Stop, stop, stop! Everyone, stop!" Stiles yelled as he, Wren, Aiden and Coach ran up to where Scott and Kira stood, the rest of the team not far behind them. Stiles looked down before digging around in the leaves, pulling up the end of a chain. He pulled it up until all he got was just the other end and Coach started clapping.

"Congratulations, Stilinski. You found a length of chain. Can somebody now please tell me what the hell's going on?" Coach asked as he walked a couple steps forward. Wren glanced around confused until she noticed a trip wire, "Coach!" She yelled right as he tripped it.

Suddenly an arrow lodged it's way into Coach's stomach making everyone gasp as he looked down. "Oh crap." He said before falling back making everyone instantly ran over to him.

"Get it out of me! Get it out of me!" Coach yelled as Wren instantly took her sweater off and gently wrapped it around the base if the arrow putting pressure on Coach's wound. "Coach-" Stiles started to say, "Get it out of me!" Coach yelled as Scott and Aiden tried to hold him down.

"Coach, we can't take it out until you get to the hospital." Wren tried to tell him but he kept freaking out, "Oh, my God, I'm gonna die! Get it out of me! I'm gonna die!" Coach said and Wren sighed, glancing over at Stiles. "Coach, you're not gonna die-" Stiles started to say but Coach cut him off, "I'm gonna die!"

"It will hurt less if you stop moving, Coach-"

"Get that thing out of me! AHHHHHH!"

"Stay still, Coach. An ambulance is coming."

"Get it out! I'm gonna die!" Coach yelled and Wren sighed as she kept a firm grip on her sweater, "Coach, you'll be fine." She said before looking at Scott who nodded slightly making her nod back then look at Aiden. "People need to move away a bit." She said and he sat up, "Get back! Get back! Give him some room! Get back!" He yelled.

Scott glanced at everyone before grabbing Coach's hand, groaning as he took away Coach's pain. As he did so, Coach's head fell to the side making the guys look at him wide eyes, "It's okay. He just passed out." Wren said making Scott and Aiden sigh in relief.

Wren glanced over at Stiles to see him staring down at her hands which was covered in Coach's blood that had seeped through her flannel. "Stiles." She said making him look at her, "He's okay." She said and he shook his head slightly, "I could have killed him. I could have killed him, right? What if it was his head? Or his throat?" He said anxiously.

"It wasn't- and he's going to be all right." She said and he just stared at her for a moment until Aiden spoke up. "I think I just heard an ambulance coming." He said making Stiles sighed, "And my dad."

๐ŸฆŠ

Wren stood in between Scott and Stiles as they watched Deputy Parrish step into a school bus, decked out in HDT gear. Apparently, Stiles might have pulled a William Barrow and put a bomb in a school bus. "Anyone one else wondering where you found a bomb?" Wren asked, glancing over at Stiles who sighed, "I don't think I'd want to know." He said.

"It's not a bomb sir, but there is something in the box..." Parrish said over the radio before walking over to the front of the bus, pressing plaque that said "Sheriff Stilinski" on it. Realization slowly crossed Wren's features as she started to connect the dots.

"Oh god. The bombs at the station."

๐ŸฆŠ

Scott, Stiles and Wren ran into the station to see it was a mess, pieces of wood, paper, glass and more littered the floor. Multiple officers hurt of not worse. Wren glanced around until she noticed a couple people who made her eyes widen.

"Derek! Chris!" She yelled, quickly running over to them while Scott and Stiles went to someone else. "Woah." She said as Chris grabbed onto Derek's arm, "I'm okay." Derek said breathlessly and Wren's eyes widen as she saw all the pieces of glass lodged in his back. "He saved my life." Argent said making Wren look over at him.

"Wren!" She heard someone yell making her look over to see Scott, Stiles and Kira rapidly waving her over. She sighed softly, glancing at Derek and Argent before quickly running over to her friends.

They ran out if the station and into the jeep, almost instantly Stiles took off driving. "It's an animal clinic?" Kira asked and Wren nodded, "Yeah. The place is lined with mountain ash, just like Scott's house. It will buy us some time." She said.

"But they can get through it?" Stiles asked and Scott nodded. "Eventually..." He said. "Nobody's got any better ideas?" Stiles asked and they just glanced at each other in silence making him nod, "Okay, sure. Animal clinic"

They pulled up to the clinic and got out into the pouring rain and made a beeline for the back door but Scott stopped making everyone turn around. Slowly the oni appeared and started making their way toward the four of them. "Stiles! Get inside!" Scott said tossing him the keys before turning around, growling.

The oni charged forward, two of them at Scott and two at Wren. They sung their ninjatลs at Wren, who quickly spun around them to dodged them. She kicked one in the chest before turning and grabbing the other by the wrist before kicking its feet out from under it as Kira manged to flip one over her shoulder.

One of the oni quickly charged at Wren, swinging it's ninjatล making her eyes widen as she duck under it. When she stood up fully she grabbed it arm, twisting it slightly before kicking its feet out from under it.

She turned around right as an Oni stabbed it's sword right through Scott making Kira cry out and kick the Oni away from him. Wren ran over and grabbed Scott before he could fall and Kira ran over to help. "Get him inside!" She yelled over the rain and Kira nodded.

They ran into the animal clinic and into the examination room before leaning Scott against a table. Kira was about to pull the sword out of Scott but Stiles grabbed Kira's arm making her cry out in pain before he suddenly slammed her head into the table.

"Stiles!?" Wren yelled but before she could really do anything else Stiles turned to her and grabbed the side of her head before slamming it into the wall with an unbelievable amount of force. She cried out, falling to the floor, she wasn't knocked out but she did cut her forehead and everything was fuzzy.

Stiles walked over to Scott and gripped the end of the sword making Scott let out a breath of pain. But instead of pulling it out, he started twisting it around making Scott cry out and groan in pain, "Does it hurt? Hey, look at me."

"You should have done your reading, Scott. See, a Nogitsune feeds off chaos, strife, and pain. This morning, you took it from Isaac, then you took it from Coach, and then from a dying deputy. All that pain... You took it all." Stiles said, gripped the side if Scott's head, "Now, give it to me."

Wren opened her eyes, holding her hand to her head before looking over. Black veins trailed from Scott's face to Stiles hand making Stiles look like he was going through some sick form of pleasure. When it stopped he moved his hand and chuckled, "You really have to learn, Scott. You really have to learn not to trust a Fox. Mmm-mmm. Know why? 'Cause they're tricksters. They'll fool you. They'll fool everyone."

"Not everyone." Deaton said, walking up making Stiles quickly look over at him. When he did Deaton instantly stuck a syringe into Stiles neck making groan in pain as Deaton injected whatever was in the syringe. He breathed out in pain before slowly falling to the ground.

Deaton stood in front of Scott then quickly but carefully, ripped the sword out making Scott groan in pain. "What was that? Was that a cure? Is he okay?" Scott said, breathing heavily. "The Fox is poisoned... But, it's not dead. Not yet." Deaton said before moving to crouch down next to Wren and helping her sit up against the wall.

He gently moved her hand away from her head to look at her bleeding forehead as she winced. He opened a drawer that was near her, pulling out a towel, pressing it to her head then placed her hand back on the towel. "Hold it, you'll have to make sure you get Melissa to look your head over." He said and she sighed, slightly dazed, pressing the towel to her head.

"He was never really Stiles at all today, was he?" She asked and he sighed, "I'm afraid not."
