F/N WAS DETERMINED TO RETRIEVE BACK THE THRONE THAT WAS MEANT TO BE HERS. The throne of the Empire of Aigragalla.
She had woken up earlier than her father did and he reminded her one last time of the warnings she had to know before setting off.
The woman slowly crept back to where she came from, hiding behind walls and archways to prevent being spotted by the prisoners and the possible guards.
Her steps were light and quiet as she had disregarded her heavy boots and held onto them instead. The stairs were as freaky as she remembered them to be and they creaked every time she placed her weight down on them.
F/n placed a hand on the wall before looking up, seeing how there were a few more steps until she reached the top. Swallowing her fears, she nibbled on her bottom lip as she took the last five steps and landed on the top with a slight thud.
The woman glanced down for a moment, making sure that no one had heard before putting her boots back on. She used her foot to tap on the bottom right corner of the moving wall and it did its job, moving inwards slightly.
She took a deep breath, gathering all her confidence before leaning her body weight against it, landing harshly on the ground on the other side of the wall.
Abruptly, F/n stood up and snuck away and out of the guards' sight. She took a moment to breathe before looking up at the tower that she was meant to go to.
As her father had told her, the tower was there, the window opened and yet no one was seen. She took a quick side glance before jumping and climbing the tower with the help of her crystals.
Once she reached the window, she climbed in and let it shut close, leaning against it and letting herself breathe for a while.
Feeling ready to continue her quest, her eyes scanned the room, noticing the plain, simple room that was covered in a thick layer of dust. Dust reminded her of Levi Ackerman, knowing how well he would react to this.
Thinking about him and the rest of her friends made her smile and lit up her spirits ever so slightly. She then walked towards the wooden wardrobe and held onto the round knob with the pads of her fingertips.
She pulled it open and sneezed a few times from the dust that flew out of the compartment.
Inside were two plain dresses, one of what looked like a maid dress and the other just a plain pink one, as well as a royal guard's uniform. She took the uniform out and dusted it a little before putting it on.
The uniform felt weird on her. It was stiff and heavier than the clothing she had on earlier. It was black in colour, mostly, with a little bit of gold for the buttons and the accessories. The hat she wore was round and was tilted slightly towards the end, similar to an officer's cap.
Her pants seemed to be made of leather with a little bit of gold and a leather strap to hold onto the sword that went along with it. The sword was what actually caught her eyes the most.
It had a golden handle but the colour faded into white as it reached the blade. The sides of the handle were almost shaped like angel wings and the bottom was kind of star-shaped.
It had a golden and white line design to it and it didn't look plain. In fact, it almost looked as if it was glowing.
She tapped her cap once more, letting the dust fall on the ground before approaching the window, feeling slightly more confident with the uniform on. She liked the survey corps uniform but this made her feel more at place.
She climbed out of it, guiding herself out of the walls this time instead of the inside of the walls. She landed on the ground with a very audible thud and walked around to reach the stables.
There, she spotted a few black thoroughbred horses that were very similar to the ones back home. She placed her hand on one, calming it down before it could neigh and kicked the door down.
She guided the horse out, carefully hiking onto it and patting reassuringly on its head once more before guiding it to the front of the castle. Riding the horse reminded her of her own, already missing Ares and his loyal persona.
She wondered how he was doing, how he was hanging up without her. Even though she knew he was a horse and not a human being that could talk to her, she felt as though he had been there for her longer than a few people were.
It felt nice.
"Artemis," she muttered and the horse snorted lightly, "Artemis is what I shall name you."
As expected, the first gate opened and in walked the woman on her horse. The second gate opened close after and in came the third. When it did, she rode for a few more moments before climbing off of the horse and tying it to a safe place.
She patted its forehead, whispering to it that she would be back soon before slowly approaching the intimidating-looking castle.
She walked towards the entrance, noticing the two guards that stood in their places motionlessly with their rifles pointing upwards. She was about to ignore them when they both faced her and gave her a proper salute.
She lagged for a moment, silently contemplating what to do before repeating the action. Thankfully, the two guards faced back forward and she sighed inaudibly in relief, marching inside the castle unsuspiciously.
She scanned the area by just moving her eyes, not daring to move her head to make it seem as if she was actually trying to adjust to the surroundings.
'Upstairs,' she told herself, turning her body and leading herself up the stairs as instructed by her father in the morning, 'Third floor, end of the hall.'
Huffing under her breath, she placed the final step on the third floor before turning her body ninety degrees to the right. She marched like how every guard would until she reached the end of the hall, loosening her stiff posture before glancing around.
Making sure that no one was watching her, she opened the door and shut it behind her, releasing a breath she didn't know she had been holding.
Her hand left the doorknob, eyes scanning the room with full interest.
The room was fairly large, with a king-size canopy bed with a white and dark magenta colour aesthetic. The room was dark, the whole room was with only one light lighting up the place.
But for some unknown reason, she liked it.
The canopy had a floral design to it and the walls of the room looked traditional. Behind the bed was just a headboard and matching dark magenta coloured curtains.
The bed had four unnecessary pillows and a neatly draped dark magenta blanket. Side tables and a lamp were on each side of the bed, both unlit and both had floral designs.
There was a small bed bench at the end of the bed and a large balcony with a layer of translucent curtains and a layer of opaque curtains on top. Beside it was a vanity table and a chair, slid underneath it.
There was another door next to it, a fairly large painting and another door that looked like a walk-in closet, everything matching the dark theme of the room.
A chandelier was in the middle of the room, right above the fluffy carpet she landed her gaze on. F/n placed her hand on the carpet, smoothing it to feel the soft feeling against her hand.
She then looked up, walking around the room with intrigued eyes. She grazed her hand on the vanity table, spotting the missing presence of the dust in her fingers, indicating that this room was cleaned recently.
She placed a hand on a knob of a drawer and slid it open, landing her gaze on the black jewellery box. F/n tilted her head to the side, brows furrowing slightly in thought.
She then picked up the box and carefully opened it, eyes widened immediately at the sight of the untouched, beautiful necklace.
