"NO."
Erwin's one-worded answer left the woman in a disconsolate state. Her glasses were crooked and she was on her knees, begging quite literally.
"Please, Erwin!" she cried, tears gathering in her eyes from desperation, "Just this once! Only one time I will experiment on her! I won't do anything to harm her! I promise! Please, Erwin!"
F/n gulped before her mouth fell agape. The commander sighed, dropping his eyes a bit as he was tired from the constant begging.
"Hange," he stated, "I know you're interested in finding out new information about Titans but why are you so... captivated with her DNA?"
Hange, Levi, Erwin and F/n were in this room because of the banter Hange threw when Levi repetitively rejected her after claiming she was to experiment on F/n.
Now, Erwin was involved in this and not only that but he was the one Hange was begging and pleading to.
"Erwin... Everything about her captivated me..." she said dramatically, causing Levi to roll his eyes, "Her life, how she lived without food for years in the tree, how she has Titan abilities. Her DNA doesn't match with titans or humans! And! She's unlike Eren!"
Hange rapidly stood up, slamming her hands on the wooden desk and her bangs covered her eyesight slightly.
"Do you see now why I'm so captivated with her?" Hange shouted with wide eyes.
"Hange..." Erwin sighed for the umpteenth time this afternoon, "She is someone who is still in the process of healing from years of not having any sustenance, contact with the sun and even human interaction."
"Exactly why I should experiment on her!" her eyes grew wide, "She didn't have any human interaction for years and yet she can talk like normal!"
"She nods and shakes her head and says one-worded answers every once in a while," Levi interjected, "You call that normal?"
"Come on, Levi! Don't say that you're not captivated with her either!" Hange whined.
The captain just clicked his tongue and looked away.
"We don't have time for your nonsense," he stated, "F/n needs to rest-"
"No, Erwin! You have to understand!" the scientist scratched her head violently, messing it up more than it already was, "She's so... She's so unique! She's amazing!" Hange grew quiet, widened eyes staring at the commander as she whispered, "She might be the hope for humanity!"
The room grew quiet. Erwin remained his stiff and emotionless expression as a commander while Hange looked like she was going to pee with how much anticipation her face held.
"You can research more about her DNA," he said and Hange immediately grew a large grin, "But nothing more. Levi will be there with you to supervise. Two hours is all you got."
Usually, Hange would've been upset with the time limit, someone watching her and the limitation of her action. But this time, she could care less and the words flew from one ear to another.

"F/n!" Hange sang her name as she ran towards the girl, "Time for experiment!"
Eren turned to her.
"She's going to experiment on you?" he asked and F/n nodded.
"Why?" Mikasa asked and she shrugged in response.
Levi, who was sipping on his tea on the table across theirs, rolled his eyes at the sound of his friend's voice. She clearly had forgotten that Levi had to supervise her or did she even listen to Erwin at all?
The scientist rambled as she pulled F/n close to her, giving her a short hug before pulling her out of the room and towards her office. Levi followed not too silent. His shoes made noises against the flooring and yet Hange took no notice of his presence.
The h/c-haired woman, on the other hand, had. She turned her head and met eyes with the captain who was staring right back at her, eyes as emotionless as she first saw him.
But like every other time she had seen him eye-to-eye, a shiver ran through her body, as if wanting to tell her that he was the one helping her throughout her life inside the walls.
The younger unconsciously grew a small smile and the man just turned away, clicking his tongue and completely ignoring the sudden lurch in his stomach.
It was until they entered the room that Hange realised that Levi was with them.
"Shorty? What are you doing here?" Hange asked, "I'm trying to conduct an experiment to save humanity! You can't interrupt me!"
Levi clicked his tongue at her over-exaggerated statement, adjusting his crossed arms.
"Erwin told me to supervise you," he simply stated, pushing past the pair and leaning against a wall.
Hange groaned, rolling her eyes as she shut the door.
"Fine. I guess you can stay," she muttered but her pout soon faded when she landed her eyes on the girl, "Now, experiment time! Sit there, F/n. Wait for me."
Sitting on the table, Hange approached her with a set of equipment in hand. She placed them on the table and took out the syringe. The scientist glanced at F/n's eyes before inserting the syringe into her skin.
F/n quickly glanced away, landing her gaze on the captain instead. As usual, she felt herself shiver slightly even though she was physically not.
"Okay, we're done!" Hange announced and F/n looked at her, waiting for something else she was here for.
Hange placed a glass slide on the table next to her and dropped a few drops of F/n's blood before placing it under the microscope. The scientists switched on the lights and adjusted the adjustments.
With the blood clearly seen from under the microscope, she inspected the red blood cells, platelets and white blood cells. What had her interested was the small cells that were not known to even someone like her.
And unlike Eren's blood sample, F/n's did not match with Titans. Eren's cells were larger and that was what can cause him to shift into a Titan. F/n, on the other hand, had cells the same size as every other human cell but shaped and coloured similar to titan cells.
Hange took a deep breath and released it, adjusting the microscope even more. Every time she tried to inspect her blood, nothing seemed to come to her mind. There were bits of theories she had but none seemed to have a supporting statement to prove it right.
"What do you see, Four Eyes?" Levi asked, noticing the concentration she had on the blood sample.
He knew she was always interested in these things but the Hange he knew was always talkative regardless of the situation.
"Come see," she said, the seriousness in her voice was evident to two others in the room.
Levi hovered an eye above the ocular lens, not making contact with it but enough to see through it. Unlike normal humans, she had these different cells combined with the other three basic human cells.
"You see those cells? There are four different ones, right?" Hange asked, gesturing him towards another microscope that had the normal human cells, "She has five types of cells in her blood while normal humans only have three. Eren has four types and that makes sense since he's a Titan shifter."
"But as far as I know," she turned to the younger female, who was still sitting on the table cluelessly, "F/n isn't."
