Cupid approached the foreboding entrance of the house of Hades, his heart heavy with uncertainty. He had to find a way to appeal to Hades, to convince him to let him leave the underworld, or at least to find a semblance of peace in this somber realm.

As he stepped inside, the heavy doors creaked shut behind him, enveloping him in darkness. Cupid took a deep breath, steeling himself until a familiar voice called out to him. "Cupid? Is that you?" Squinting, the god of love was able to make the faint enigmatic figure of Persephone in the distance.

As she drew closer, Cupid was finally able to get a good look at her. She's characterized by delicate features and radiant, fair skin that seems to emit a soft glow. She has a graceful and slender figure, moving with otherworldly grace and elegance. Her lustrous, flowing hair cascades down her back in waves, the color of the richest ebony.

Her eyes, deep and captivating, are often likened to the color of newly blossomed flowers or the shimmering darkness of the night sky. They hold an air of wisdom, hinting at the profound understanding she possesses as both a goddess of life and death.

Without even thinking twice, Cupid dropped his wings which landed on the ground with a loud thud, and hurried toward Persephone. He wasted no time wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into a tight embrace. He was just happy to see another face in this desolate and cursed place.

"Oh, Cupid... it is you..." Persephone wrapped one arm around him while the other rested on his dirtied white hair. "But... what happened to you? What has become of your wings?" She asked. It didn't take long for her to realize how his wings were not attached to his body and that he was here of all places.

"The man whom I once called father banished me here." Cupid summed up his sorry state of affairs as he finally pulled away from the goddess. "But save your pities for another time," he straightened his posture and cleared his throat. "I need to speak with my uncle. Immediately." He stated, his voice deeper than it was originally.

"Right this way."

Persephone led Cupid through the winding corridors of the house of Hades. The walls seemed to pulse with a faint bluish glow, casting eerie shadows that danced along the path they walked. Cupid's heart fluttered with a mixture of hope and trepidation. He sought not only a way to reclaim his lost wings but also a way to return to the mortal realm and reunite with Y/n.

That's all he asked for. Surely, it is better than what all the moral souls damned here hoped for; to be reborn and have a second chance at life. Compared to them, Cupid wasn't asking for much.

As they reached the innermost part of the dark palace, they found Hades sitting on a magnificent obsidian throne, his back turned to the entrance. The god of the underworld exuded an aura of power and mystery that sent shivers down Cupid's spine. Yet, there was also an unmistakable sadness in his demeanor, a weight carried by one who ruled over the realm of the dead.

Persephone approached her husband and gently placed her hand on his shoulder. "Hades," she said softly, "we have a visitor."

Hades turned his head slightly, acknowledging Persephone before setting his gaze upon Cupid. He has a long, flowing beard and dark, piercing eyes that seem to hold the mysteries of the afterlife. Clad in black or dark robes, he exudes an aura of power and authority, reflecting his role as the ruler of the realm of the dead. His presence commands respect and reverence, and he is often shown holding a staff or scepter, symbols of his dominion over the underworld.

"Well, isn't it my favorite nephew," he addressed Cupid with a voice that resonated with all things that were dark and grim in the world, "you have come seeking an audience with me. Tell me, what is something you wanted?" Soon, a twisted grin made its way onto the man's features. He laughed. A wicked laugh that made Cupid feel like a child again; weak and shy. "Don't tell me you want to go back to Olympus now. You just got here!"

Cupid took a deep breath, trying to muster his courage as he stepped forward. "Hades," he said, trying to keep his voice steady. "I come seeking your wisdom and guidance. I wish to regain my wings, but I also long to return to the realm of the living and be with Y/n once more."

"You're a little tragedy, aren't you?"

As soon as he heard his uncle utter these words, there in the air, vulnerable, hung a violent mockery that left a seeping gash where Cupid's heart was. "I..." he tried to defend himself, but no words came out. How was he supposed to come back from a statement like that?

The god of the underworld regarded Cupid silently for a moment before speaking. "Your desire to be with a mortal is not easily dismissed," he said, his tone neutral but carrying a hint of understanding. "It is a realm you cannot simply abandon. And no offense, but from over here it looks like you're in no position to bargain." Zeus casted pearls before swine and that was good enough for Hades. If anything, Cupid getting banished here was reasonable.

He should've just forgotten Y/n, shut up about her, and continued doing what he was best at. Making couples for all of eternity.

"I know," Cupid replied, his voice tinged with regret. "But I cannot bear this separation any longer. My heart aches for her, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make amends. Please, uncle... help me." He begged.

Persephone stepped closer to Cupid, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Hades..." she said gently, looking over at her husband with a small frown. "Cupid is sincere in his request. He is willing to learn from his mistakes and find a way to coexist with love in both realms," she should know. The spring and summer are when she is in the care of her mother. In her joy, Demeter makes flowers bloom and crops flourish. In the autumn, Persephone returns to the underworld, and Demeter lets the world fall under a blanket of snow, once more awaiting her daughter's springtime arrival. Cupid should not have to go through something like that. It's a terrible way to live a long life. "Give the kid a break." She finished her sentiment.

Hades turned to look at Persephone, and a softness entered his eyes that Cupid had not expected. "Very well," he said after a moment of contemplation. "I shall grant you an opportunity to prove yourself, Cupid. You must first seek out the Fates, and they shall guide you in your quest to find a way to bridge the gap between the worlds. As for your wings... we can sort that out later."

Cupid's heart swelled with gratitude, relieved that Hades was willing to listen. "Thank you, Uncle Hades," he said, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "I will do whatever it takes to earn your favor and find a way back to Y/n."
