In a conference room, the atmosphere was very tense with all the employees there sweating profusely and fear evident on their faces as a terrifying voice rang out.

"What is this? Were you all supposed to give this presentation?" a man in his 30s said and his tone was so menacing that fear was clearly visible on the faces of the employees

"Mr. Alex, will you explain this?" he said in his monotonous voice and threw the file onto Alex's face

"Y..sir.. I'm sorry, I will redo the presentation" Alex said fearfully.

"I don't have 'sorry' in my dictionary, Mr. Alex. You   should know that" he chuckled darkly

"Sir, please forgive me. I won't be careless next time, sir, please, I have two children, sir, please," Mr. Alex said and alex grabbed his leg but the man jerked his leg away

"Because of your negligence, we were going to incur a loss of 1 million dollars," he said, and upon hearing this, the color drained from everyone's faces

"O..one mill..ion dollars?"Alex stuttered this news was shocking to him and he realized that his devilish boss wouldn't spare him now

"Yes, do you even know how much one million dollars is? Do you realize the huge loss the company would have incurred if this deal slipped through my hands because of your negligence?" he yelled at Alex.

"Sir, please forgive me this time. I won't make such a mistake again, sir, please," Alex pleaded, but it seemed like he didn't care at all.

"If you stay in the company, you'll just make the same mistake again. You're fired, Mr. Alex. Collect your salary from my assistant," he said, getting up from his chair, putting on his coat, and starting to leave the conference room. Just as he was about to open the door, Alex grabbed his leg and said,

"Si..sir..plea..se..don't..fire..me..from..my..job. Where will I go with my wife and 2 children?" Alex begged but he pulled his leg away and said,

"Mr. Alex, it would be best for you to quietly resign from your job, otherwise, you know what happens to those who make mistakes. They don't stay alive. But I'm letting you off. Be thankful," he said and left the conference room.

Nikshant's pov

After leaving the conference room, I entered the private lift. After a while, the lift opened, and I stepped into my cabin. I took off my coat, placed it on the chair and sat down. Then, I picked up the intercom from the desk and asked my assistant to come to my cabin. After some time, there was a knock on the cabin door.

"Come in" I said in my cold voice, and my assistant Danish entered.

"Good morning sir. You called, is there anything you need?" Danish said, and I just hummed.

"For me, a black coffee, and give Mr. Alex his salary," I said, and he nodded before leaving the cabin.

I took out my phone from my pants pocket and started checking it when suddenly I received a call. I looked at the caller ID, and it displayed my grandma's name. I answered the call.

"Hello, grandma," I said, and from the other side, an angry voice came.

"So, Maharaj, it's been two years since you haven't come home. Have you forgotten there's an old woman in your house?" grandma said in a sarcastic tone.

"Grandma, there are some problems in the company here. Once I solve them, I'll come to India," I said.

"I don't want to hear any excuses. You have to come to India today. I know why you don't want to come to India," grandma said from the other side.

"If you already know, why are you asking?" I said and continued, "I'm very busy right now, I'll call you later." I was about to hang up the call when grandma said from the other side

"Why would you listen to me now? You have  grown up and you have advanced your company so much, why would you care about an old woman in the house?" Her blackmailing started.

"I will think about it grandma, I'm hanging up now" I cut the call

After ending the call, I started checking some important files. After a while, Danish came in and placed the coffee on the desk before standing up. While checking the files, I said,

"I need all the files related to Mr. Williams' projects, and cancel all my upcoming meetings. Also, prepare the jet; we are leaving for India now." He nodded and left the cabin. I stood up from my chair, put on my coat, grabbed my phone from the desk, and left the cabin. I entered the lift and pressed the ground floor button. The lift stopped on the ground floor, and I stepped out, heading towards the parking lot. Upon reaching the parking lot, I saw Danish standing in front of the car, waiting for me. As soon as he saw me, he opened the car door, and I got in. Danish sat in the driver's seat, started the car, and said,

"Sir, I've arranged everything, and you'll have all the files related to Mr. Williams as soon as we land in India." Danish said as he drove the car, and I just hummed, focusing on checking the files on my phone. After some time, we reached the airport, and after getting out of the car, I headed towards the private area of the airport.

*Time skipped*

After a journey of 17 hours and 40 minutes, I am now in India. Upon exiting the airport, I checked the time on my phone, which showed it was 9 o'clock at night. Looking ahead, I saw my driver waiting for me with the car. When he saw me, he bowed his head respectfully and greeted me. I just nodded and took the car keys from him, then got into the car and started off towards home.

I increased the speed of my car because the road was empty and deserted. Just then, I saw a girl about to collide with my car, so I quickly hit the brakes and swerved the car to avoid the collision. I hurriedly got out of the car

"Hey, are you okay?  I hope "she was about to respond but when some goons arrived and interrupted her

"Yee ladke iss ladki ko humare hawaale karde"one of the goons said and she tightly held my shirt and shook her head  as she is saying "please " I don't want to go near those people

(Hey boy hand over this girl to us)

How did she think that I would leave her with those people?

"Agar nahi dunga toh kya kar lega" I asked in a cold tone and held her hands which was on my shirt

( What if I don't give it, then what will you do)

"Dekh chhup chhap iss ladki ko humare hawaale kar de tu jaanta nahi hai tu kin logo se panga le raha hai "the second goon said and tried to grab the girl, but I held his hand, which was about to touch the girl and twisted it. The goon screamed in pain.

(Look, quietly hand over this girl to us. You don't know who you're messing with)

"Teri kitni himmat"the first goon said and tried to hit me, but I carefully kicked him in his balls and the goon fell down on the road.

( How dare you )

"Wait for me right here I will deal with these goons for a bit "I said standing up and moving towards the goons, initiating the fight. After some time I came back to the girl and began to lift her up.

"I may not know you all, but I'm sure you know who Nikshant Roy Kapoor is" I said and the condition of those goons worsened upon hearing the name.

"Hume maaf kar dijiye sahab hum kabhi bhi kisi ko chhedenge toh kya dekhenge bhi nahi " the goons said

(Please forgive us, sir. We will never touch anyone again nor even look at them)

" Please hume jaane dijiye mere muh ke nikal gayi  please sahab hume maaf kar dijiyege"the goons pleaded

(Please let us go, it slipped out of my mouth)

"I'll count to 5 quickly disappear from my sight" I said. The goons got up and ran away. Later I approached the girl. Before I could speak, several cars stopped in front of us.A guy stepped out hurriedly and hugged her

"Princess are you okay "he asked her

"I..am.. fi..fine"the girl said and hid her in his chest

I think he must be someone from her family

"Thank you Mr"he said

But I didn't say anything I sat in my car and started off towards home

After some time, I reached home and entered the house after getting out of the car. As I entered the house, I saw my dear grandmother sitting alone on the couch. I bent down from behind and hugged her, saying,

"How are you, Grandma?" I asked her, and she replied with surprise,

"Nikshant, my dear, you're here!" she said, surprised.

"Yes, Grandma, it's me, Nikshant" I said and kissed her cheek.

"So, you finally remembered home after two years? You didn't miss your home in these two years?" She held my hand and made me sit beside her on the couch.

"Grandma, please don't start again" I said, just then a voice screamed. I turned back and saw my sister Ahana hurriedly coming down the stairs.

"You'll fall, please come down the stairs slowly," I said, but she ignored me and quickly descended the stairs  and hugged her a smile appearing on my face seeing her.

"Bhai I miss you so much" Ahana broke the hug and sat beside me.

"I miss you too, little sister" I said and kissed her forehead.

"Go, beta go and rest. You must be tired after such a long journey," Grandma said, and I nodded. I got up from the couch to leave when Grandma called out from behind,

"Come home early from the office tomorrow evening. We're going somewhere tomorrow evening," Grandma said, and I nodded. I climbed up the stairs and went to my room. When I entered the room, it looked just like it did two years ago. I went straight to the bathroom to take a shower. After showering, I wrapped a towel around my waist and stood in front of the mirror, drying my hair with another towel. After drying my hair, I went to the closet, changed into a loose tee and track pants, and came out. I lay down on the bed when there was a knock on the door, and Ahana came in.

"Bhaiya dadi dinner ke liye bula rahi hai " she said.

(Brother, Grandma is calling you for dinner)

"I had dinner on the flight. Please let her know," I said.

"Good night, brother," she said and left the room. I closed my eyes and due to tiredness, I didn't realize when I fell asleep.

Author pov:

In the morning, Nikshant woke up to the sound of his alarm. He slowly opened his eyes, and the rays of the sun  gently touch his face, making him look even more handsome. He fully opened his eyes, got out of bed and entered the bathroom. After some time, he emerged from the bathroom and left the room, heading upstairs. reaching upstairs, he entered a room.

That room is not just any room; it's his personal gym. After spending a few hours in the gym, he emerged shirtless sweat dripping from his face disappearing into his waist. If any girl were to see him now, she would be left staring.

But he thought that if he had money, girls would naturally come to him, so he never pursued any girl.

And then he entered his room .  entering the room, he went into the bathroom, took a shower and after coming out of the bathroom, he walked to the closet. After some time, he emerged from the closet. He was wearing a black Armani suit on which he looked very handsome. Standing in front of the mirror, he started to set his hair and then put on his watch.  he left the room and started descending the stairs.

Nikshant's pov

After descending the stairs, I went straight to the dining area where Ahana and Grandma were sitting.

"Good morning, brother" Ahana greeted.

"Good morning, baccha " I greeted her.

"Good morning, Grandma" I greeted Grandma as well. I noticed one thing that Mom and Aarav are not at home since yesterday.

"By the way, Grandma, where are Aarav and Mom? I haven't seen them since yesterday" I asked as I sat down on a chair.

"They will be back this evening" Grandma said, and I nodded, starting to have breakfast.

After breakfast, I was about to leave for the office when Ahana called from behind.

"Brother, can you drop me off at college?" she said, and I nodded. I left home, went to the garage, and sat in the driver's seat. Ahana sat in the passenger seat, and I started driving towards her college. After dropping her off at college, I headed to the office. Upon reaching the office, I parked the car in the parking lot and got out of the car. The guards greeted me with a "good morning" as I entered the office premises. All the employees were shocked to see me, and why wouldn't they be? After all, I was returning to this office after two years. However, ignoring them all, I went straight into my cabin I sat down on the chair.

It was just a short while later when someone forcefully opened the door of the cabin and entered. I was looking at some files when someone entered my cabin without knocking, which made me angry.

"How dare you enter my cabin without my permission?" I said in a cold voice  I looked at them directly and my eyes widened in anger.

"Tum dono abhi mere office mein kya kar Rahe ho" I asked the

(What are you two doing in my office right now)

"Saale tune bataya bhi nahi tu India aa gaya agar dadi ne hume nahi batata toh hume pata bhi nahi chalta" yash my bestfriend asked

(You didn't even tell us you came to India. If Grandma hadn't told us, we wouldn't have known)

"Woh mera sudden plan tha India aane ka isliye tum dono ko nahi Bata paya" I replied

(It was my sudden plan to come to India, that's why I couldn't inform you both)

After they both talked to me, they left, and I got up from my chair to look out through the glass window towards the city. The entire city was visible through the glass window. There was a knock on the door of my cabin, and I said "come in," but without turning back to look.

"Good morning, sir. Here are the files related to Mr. Williams' projects," Danish said, and continued, "Sir, you don't have any meetings scheduled for today." He informed me about my schedule and left, and I sat back down on the chair, starting to read the files.

After reading all the files, I leaned back in my chair and checked the time on my watch, which showed 4 o'clock. Then I remembered that Grandma had called me home early. I got up from the chair, grabbed the keys from the desk, and left the cabin. I entered the lift, and as it opened, I got into the car and drove home.

arriving home, I saw Grandma and Ahana sitting on the couch, engaged in conversation. As soon as they noticed me, they fell silent, which made me feel uneasy, but I brushed off the thought.

"Let's go, where do you want to go?" I said, and they both got up from the couch and headed out of the house. I also left the house and got into the car and they also got into the car

"Where are we going? Show me the location," I asked and Ahana took out her phone to show the location. After a while, we all reached the destination.

"Why have we come here?" I asked.

"You'll find out once we go inside," Grandma said, getting out of the car. I also got out of the car and followed Grandma.

Upon entering the house, I saw Aarav and Mom sitting on the couch. Grandma went over to them, and Ahana and I sat down as well. Then Grandma said, "Urmila, bring Aarav here." My eyes widened as I understood why Grandma brought me here.

"Grandma—" I began, but she interrupted me.

"Urmila aaravi ko leke aao " Grandma said, and Aunt Urmila, with a smile, replied,

( Urmila, bring him here now )

"Haan maa ji main abhi usko leke aati hoon "She started to go upstairs.

(Yes, Mother,  I will bring her right now)

"Grandma, what is this? You asked me to come home early today for this . I don't want to see anyone. I'm leaving," I said, getting up from the couch. But Grandma grabbed my hand and made me sit back down.

"Sit quietly. If you don't like the girl, say no," Grandma whisper yelled at meand I reluctantly sat back down on the couch. Then I heard the sound of anklets in my ears when  I looked towards the stairs and I couldn't take my eyes off the stairs.
