The sky above Alcatraz Island was a canvas of chaos as the mutant forces gathered. Dark clouds churned, thunder roared, and the occasional flash of lightning illuminated the scene of impending disaster. Magneto stood at the forefront, his magnetic powers stirring the debris around him. Beside him, Jean Grey, possessed by the Phoenix, hovered in a cocoon of fiery energy, her eyes glowing with an intense, destructive power. The island was a battlefield, strewn with the bodies of those who had fallen in the struggle.
Scott Summers, Rory, Logan, Storm, and the remaining X-Men arrived on the island, their expressions grim and resolute. The weight of the impending confrontation was palpable. Rory's heart raced as she scanned the field, her reality-warping abilities at the ready.
"Stay in formation," Logan barked, his voice cutting through the din. "We can't afford to scatter. We need to make them come to us."
With a nod of agreement, the X-Men spread out, their powers primed for battle. As the first wave of Magneto's mutants charged, the team responded with a synchronized counterattack. Storm summoned a tempest, lightning crackling through the air as she targeted the enemy. Her winds howled, lifting debris and sending adversaries stumbling.
Rory, standing beside Scott, focused on the incoming threats. Her eyes glowed with a soft red light as she began to warp reality. The ground beneath the attacking mutants shifted and contorted, creating obstacles and disorienting them. Her powers created illusions of barriers and shifting terrain, buying the team precious moments to regroup.
Logan, claws unsheathed, lunged into the fray with ferocious speed. His movements were a blur as he took down several of Magneto's minions. The clang of metal and the cries of the defeated filled the air. Pyro, his hands ablaze, hurled fireballs towards Bobby, who responded by creating a wall of ice to counter the onslaught. Their clash of elemental powers was a dazzling display of fire and ice.
"Jean!" Rory shouted, her voice filled with desperation. She used her powers to create a swirling vortex of reality-altering energy aimed directly at the Phoenix. The vortex roared to life, pulling and distorting everything in its path. The energy around her crackled with raw power as she focused on reaching the woman within the Phoenix.
Jean, floating above, turned her gaze towards Rory. Her eyes, burning with fiery intensity, locked onto her adversary. With a wave of her hand, Jean unleashed a wave of telekinetic force, shattering nearby structures and sending debris flying.
Rory braced herself, her powers pushing back against Jean's assault. She conjured a massive wave of energy, countering the Phoenix's destructive force. Her hands trembled as she concentrated, her reality-warping abilities amplifying her power. The intensity of the struggle manifested in her glowing eyes and the crackling energy around her.
"Jean, I know there's still a part of you in there!" Rory shouted, her voice strained. Her powers were stretching their limits, creating a swirling maelstrom of energy that clashed with the Phoenix's flames.
Jean's voice echoed with a mixture of fury and sorrow. "You're willing to give everything to stop me?" she asked, her tone laced with anguish.
"Yes, because I know what love feels like," Rory shouted back. She pushed her powers to their extreme, her reality-warping energy expanding and amplifying. Her hair, normally a dark shade of red, shimmered with an ethereal glow as she exerted her full strength.
The battle reached a fever pitch as Magneto continued to throw cars and debris at the X-Men. Storm's lightning lashed out, creating a barrier of electrical energy around her teammates. Logan fought fiercely, his claws slicing through enemies with brutal precision.
Pyro and Bobby's duel was a spectacular display of fire and ice. Pyro's flames roared towards Bobby, who countered with walls of ice and icy projectiles. The two fought with skill and determination, neither willing to give an inch.
The ground beneath Rory and Jean began to crack and shift, their powers clashing with cataclysmic force. Rory's vortex of reality-warping energy was pushed to its limits, her body straining under the immense pressure.
In a final, desperate move, Rory channeled all her energy into a concentrated blast aimed at Jean. The blast collided with the Phoenix, causing a tremendous explosion that sent both Rory and Jean reeling. Rory was thrown backward, her vision going dark as she hit the ground hard. The last thing she saw was the fiery figure of the Phoenix as it began to dissipate, her force weakening.
Logan, amidst the chaos, saw Rory fall and immediately pushed through the fray towards her. He dodged and fought off enemies, his determination focused solely on reaching her. He arrived at Rory's side, his heart pounding as he knelt beside her.
"Rory!" Logan's voice was a mixture of desperation and anguish as he gently lifted her head, cradling her in his arms. Her breathing was shallow, and her eyes were closed. "Stay with me," he pleaded, his voice breaking.
"Logan..." Rory whispered weakly, her hand reaching out to him. "Scott..."
Logan looked up, seeing Scott engaged in his own fight against Magneto's forces. He was a whirlwind of movement, his optic blasts cutting through enemies with precision. But as Scott noticed Rory's condition, his face turned pale with fear and concern.
Scott fought his way over to them, his movements frantic. He dropped to his knees beside Rory, his eyes filling with tears as he took her hand. "Rory, stay with me," he said, his voice cracking with emotion.
Logan stood beside Scott, his gaze focused on Rory. "She's been incredible," he said, his voice a low growl. "She fought with everything she had."
Scott squeezed Rory's hand, his tears falling onto her face. "I'm here. We're going to get through this," he promised, his voice filled with a mix of hope and sorrow.
As the battle continued in the distance, Logan watched over Rory and Scott, his expression a blend of fierce determination and deep sadness.

"It's over, Jean. It's over," Logan sighed as he watched Magneto, now cured and powerless, crumble under the weight of his loss.
But the calm was short-lived. A remaining group of soldiers, unaware of the shifting tide, climbed up the bank, their guns at the ready.
"DON'T SHOOT!" Logan pleaded desperately, but his voice was drowned out by the chaos. The soldiers opened fire, but the bullets never reached their targets. Jean, her eyes burning with the Phoenix's rage, stopped them mid-air, turning the shots back on their senders with lethal force.
Hovering above the ground, Jean unleashed her power, sending waves of destruction across the island. Structures crumbled, the earth shook, and the very air seemed to tremble under her wrath.
"Everybody out of here!" Hank shouted, trying to guide the mutants to safety.
Scott ran alongside the others, his heart breaking as he cradled Rory's limp body in his arms. Her breathing was faint, and he could feel her slipping away with every step. The sight of Jean wreaking havoc, the woman he once cherished turned into a force of pure destruction, filled him with a dark, seething rage. Twice now, she had nearly taken everything from him.
"I'm the only one who can stop her," Logan said, his voice steady despite the chaos. He turned to Storm, his eyes filled with resolve. "Get everyone to safety. Go!"
"Jean!" he shouted, forcing his way toward her through the debris and destruction.
Jean's power was unrelenting. The island was being torn apart, a thick wall of water rising around it as if to seal them in a tomb of chaos and despair. Everything in her path was turning to dust, and Logan could barely keep himself together as his skin was torn away, regenerating only to be destroyed again.
But he kept moving forward, determined to reach her. He knew this was the end, one way or another.
"Jean, I know you're still there!" Logan called out, his voice hoarse from the effort.
But she only responded with another surge of power, ripping away his suit and tearing into his flesh. He could see the conflict in her eyes, the war between the woman he loved and the dark force controlling her.
He climbed through the destruction, through the agony, until he stood before her, face to face with the Phoenix.
"You would die for them?" Jean hissed, her voice a mixture of fury and sorrow.
Logan looked at her, his heart breaking. "No," he whispered, his voice filled with all the love he still held for her. "Not for them. For you."
Jean's eyes softened for just a moment, a flicker of the old Jean shining through. "Save me," she begged, tears streaming down her face.
"I love you," Logan said, his voice trembling as he unsheathed his claws. With one final, agonizing push, he plunged them into her abdomen, ending the Phoenix's reign of terror and restoring the balance to the world.
As the dust settled and the waters receded, Logan fell to his knees, cradling Jean's lifeless body in his arms. Tears streamed down his face, his heart breaking for what could have been. He pressed his nose to her forehead, wailing in grief and understanding at last the pain Rory had tried to spare him.
