After they closed all the curtains, peacekeepers had rolled in and completely bombed the building where the Leegs were. The entire building had completely collapsed on them. Finnick had stood on the other side of the closed door, trying to listen in on what was going on, but he only heard Cashmere and Homes talking. He wanted to shoot the door handle off and barge in, but he tried to keep his cool. Lennox had to drag him away from the door when Juniper was heard yelling in pain.

The TV turned on and began playing a broadcast.

"Good afternoon, I'm Caesar Flickerman. Here with our continuing coverage of the defense of the Capitol. Today, our peacekeepers continue to hold off the rebels and their advances. our story takes a surprising twist."

A black and white video of the group running away from the oil is put onto the screen with Caesar's voice commentating over it.

"Katniss Everdeen and Juniper Plinth, our once favorites daughters, has infiltrated the city with some of the other victors, whose names are all too familiar. Finnick Odair, Lennox Hale, Cashmere Nicholo, and Peeta Mellark."

Footage of Peeta fighting Katniss is played next, and Peeta pushing one of the squad members into the oil, killing him. Juniper grabbing Peeta to try and stop him, and then him almost killing Juniper next.

Finnick looks over at Peeta and notices him with tears down his face. Peeta had almost killed Juniper right then and there, but something stopped him from killing her. Finnick didn't know whether to be mad or grateful.

"Clearly, some alliances don't last forever." Caesar spoke again, regaining Finnick's attention.

"Take a look at what happened just a moment ago, when peacekeepers cornered Juniper Plinth and Katniss Everdeen, along with their band of foolish rebels. You folks are about to witness a great victory, not only for the Capitol, but all of Panem."

The footage of the Leeg sisters shooting through the windows played. Then a moment later, footage of the building exploding into flames and collapsing was displayed onto the screen. Fire caught around the entire area.

"Juniper Plinth, once Panem's most favored voice and Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire. Two girls that inspired so much violence, have finally met a violent end themselves. Stay tuned for more information from Caesar Flickerman, thank you."

Finnick knew Juniper wasn't dead. However, what if she had died in that room? Everything Caesar was saying about her would become reality, she wouldn't be with him anymore. He wouldn't be able to stop the nightmares from haunting him every single night. His hands were shaking slightly and his leg was bouncing up and down over and over again. A hand patted the back of his shoulder, he saw Lennox.

Lennox knew exactly what Finnick was thinking it looked like, and Finnick noticed Lennox was worried too, but they both needed to stay strong and hope for the best.

"So now that we're dead, what do we do?" Gale asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" Peeta cut in. "The next move is to kill me."

"Don't be ridiculous." Jackson said.

Peeta raised his voice. "I murdered one of our squad members! Katniss is right, I'm the mutt. I'm the one Snow has turned into a weapon! It's only a matter of time before I snap again."

Peeta's eyes filled with even more tears and some escaped, sliding down his face.

"I'll kill you before that happens, I promise." Gale spoke, standing up and walking away. Finnick stood up, making his way to Peeta and sitting down next to him.

"I almost killed Katniss." Peeta whispered. "I almost killed Juniper."

"It's not your fault, Peeta." Finnick said. Peeta looked from him back to the ground, and Finnick sighed. "You're not in the right headspace. Once you get better, everything will be alright, okay?"

Peeta hesitantly nodded, and Finnick patted him on the back. He glanced at the door Juniper, Cashmere, and Homes disappeared into not long ago. He was hoping he would just see her open that door right then are there.

Everyone in the room begins searching for some food, and Messalla, the Assistant Director, finds a stash. Everyone began eating, but Finnick couldn't get himself to. However, he noticed Peeta handing Katniss a can of something. From Katniss's facial expression, it must be something she liked.

The moment finally came, and the door to the room opened up. Homes left it first, smiling at everyone and going to wash his hands. Finnick stood up immediately and almost crashed into Cashmere, who was walking out of it.

"Calm down, she's fine." Cashmere patted her hand on his shoulder and walked out. Finnick barged into the room, seeing Juniper without her vest on, only in her black shirt. It was lifted up slightly to show bandages wrapped all around her ribcage.

She notices he walks into the room and smiles at him, he takes a breath of relief and walks over to her quickly, tackling her into a hug. Her back lands on the bed and he's laying partially on top of her with his arms around her torso.

Juniper laughs, placing one of her hands on the back of his head.

"I'm okay, no need to worry." Juniper said. "But maybe don't put pressure right there." She whined, Finnick immediately moved himself off of her, helping her sit back up.

"You had me worried." Finnick laughed in relief, glad to see she was okay. Juniper rose her eyebrows and leaned over to the nightstand, holding up a sharp edged rock that was dark red. It was the size of her palm.

"Maybe I'll put this in a memory box, the time I thought I was going to die three times in just a few minutes. This rock, the oil, and the gun Jackson had pointed at my head." Juniper's face was amused, but Finnick glared at her. "What?"

"Don't ever do that again, you hear me?"

"Okay, okay. I won't." Juniper said. "Sorry, I didn't know there was a bomb there."

Finnick lightly shoved her shoulder back and stood up. "There's food out there."

The moment Juniper stood up, a Capitol broadcast was heard in the room over. The anthem they knew all too well playing in the back with the cannons and all. They walked into the room just in time to see Cressida's face on the screen. Followed by Castor, Pollux, and Messalla.

Cashmere's face went up and her hands went in the air, as if she was cheering. Finnick's face popped up next, and he pointed for Juniper to see, smiling. Juniper Plinth's popped up next.

"God, the least they can do is get our last names right." Juniper rolled her eyes, making her way to the platter of food and taking some things for herself, sitting and eating. Finnick did the same.

Finally, Lennox, Peeta, and Katniss were showed. Right after it ended, Snow came onto the broadcast. The entire room seemed to tense up, but Juniper examined him through the screen. He looked so much paler than the last she had seen him, and very unwell. The poison he drank that Finnick had talked about before must've finally been catching up with him.

"Juniper Plinth, a girl who kills her own, poison with a perfect set of teeth. Katniss Everdeen, a poor unstable girl. Both with small talents with a bow and arrow and a guitar, dead. Not thinkers, not leaders. Simply two face plucked from the masses. Were they valuable? They were extremely valuable to your rebellion because you have no vision, no leader among you."

"You call yourselves an alliance, but we saw what that means. Your soldiers are at each others throats."

Juniper heard Peeta whisper apologies from beside her, and she assured him it was alright. Before Snow uttered another word, the broadcast had completely gone static and another person was shown. Alma Coin.

"Good evening, for those who don't know me, please allow me to introduce myself. I am President Alma Coin, leader of the rebellion."

"God, I don't know who I hate looking at more right now." Juniper whispered, knowing the answer was Snow, but she despised both characters.

"I have interrupted a broadcast from your president in which he attempted to defame two brave young women. Two faces picked from the masses, he called them. As if a leader, a true leader, could be anything else. I had the privilege of knowing a small town girl from the seam in District 12 and a girl from District 4 who had her girlhood ripped right from her hands. Who both survived the Hunger Games and the Quarter Quell, and rose up and turned a nation of slaves into an army!"

"Dead or alive, Katniss Everdeen and Juniper Plinth will remain the face of this revolution. They will not have died for nothing.

"I had no idea I meant this much to her." Katniss said without an expression on her face. Juniper agreed in her head, but continued to watch the broadcast.

"Her vision, and ours, will be realized. A free Panem, with self determination for all. And in their memory, we will all find the strength to rid Panem of its oppressors." Coin paused. "Thank you, and be safe."

With that, the broadcast ended. With the four notes of the Mockingjay tune playing in the back, the faces of Juniper and Katniss appeared on the screen with the words. 'Remember the Mockingjay' and 'Remember the Songbird' displayed on the screen.

Juniper laughed at what Snow had said, a girl with a small talent on her guitar. Yet, they both knew it was so much more. Juniper knew her worth, and knew the past of the songs that Snow wanted her dead for.

"Snow is in his mansion." Katniss said, standing up. She grabbed the holo and put it down on the table, the bright blue map opened up.

Cressida sat down next to the map and everyone gathered around.

"That's us, that's the city circle. It's about 70 or 75 blocks north."

"75... blocks." Finnick had to double check that number was correct, Cressida gave him a nod. There was no way this group wouldn't attract any attention, cameras were everywhere, peacekeepers were crawling around, pods were everywhere.

"Do these buildings look over Snow's gardens?" Katniss pointed to a specific set of buildings.

"They do." Castor answered.

"If he does outside, I'll have the perfect shot."

"We're getting ahead of ourselves." Juniper spoke out, getting everyone to look at her. "Dead or alive, we're pinned down where we are. Pods are all over the city. Scan for pods, Katniss."

Jackson pointed to a button and Katniss clicked it, orange dots lit up everywhere.

"There's one almost every ten steps." Lennox crossed his arms. "That doesn't even show the new ones."

"We can't go anywhere in the streets, how else are we supposed to make our way over there?" Finnick wondered.

"There might be another way." Castor said, looking down at Pollux, who seemed to give him an idea. "Underground."

Everyone seemed uneasy, but it was the only way to get there. Everyone began cleaning up, but Juniper noticed Peeta sitting on the couch, not moving at all. Katniss also made her way over.

"I'm not going." He shook his head. "I'll either disclose your position or get someone hurt."

"Peacekeepers will find you, Peeta."

"Then leave me a pill!" He suggests. A Nightlock pill. "I'll only take it if I have to."

"That's not an option, you have to come." Jackson said, joining the argument.

"Or what? You'll shoot me?" Peeta asks. "Katniss, please. Don't you see I want out of this?"

Juniper looked to Katniss who seemed to have a million things going through her mind. Juniper couldn't tell what was happening in her head. She stayed silent and Peeta just stood up, it was obvious he was coming along and he had no choice.

"Should we free his hands?" Homes asked.

"No!" Peeta and Katniss both answered at the same time. "Give me the key." Katniss outstretched her hand, and the key was placed in her palm.

"To kill Snow!" Juniper said, pointing to the door.
