                                                                                        Leonor

I laid in my bed and cried that night. I wasn't sure what had happened.

I was terrified when he had told me how he really felt. I was happy, really. I should have told him right then and there, or I wouldn't be crying right now.

But something in me stopped myself.

     I hated myself for that.

I was cuddled in a ball of sheets and blankets in bed, rubbing my tired eyes. I had told Chloe everything that had happened. She had been a little shocked, I could tell. She told me that I would get another chance, and that everything would work out in the end.

I didn't know if I would get another chance at all.

I should have told him I felt the same way. Things would be a lot different if I had.

He hadn't even messaged me since last night. Not like I expected him to, but it would have given me another chance to talk to him.

So here I was, a crying mess in my bed. Not a great look for a princess.

All I knew was that I messed everything up. He probably wouldn't trust me now; he had just revealed that he had feelings for me. I had stood there, staring at him like a lost puppy. So immature of me.

I groaned into my pillow and shifted a little. I had to figure out how to tell him for real this time. I didn't think I could wait any longer to fix my mistake.

I must have fallen asleep, because I woke up a few hours later to my mother shaking me awake. She was sitting on the edge of my bed, looking at me worriedly. She brushed a loose strand of hair out of my eyes as I sat up.

"Is something wrong, honey?" She asked me quietly.

    I just shook my head.

"Breakfast will be ready soon," my mother soothed, standing to her feet and leaving my bedroom, closing the door behind me.

I slowly got out of bed, chugging the rest of my ice water and brushing my hair in the mirror. I just dressed into a casual outfit, a plain cream-colored shirt and leggings. I brushed my teeth and applied some perfume before silently slipping down the stairs.

My mother and father were sitting at the table, speaking quietly to each other. Sofia was fixing herself a plate, and she looked up when I reached the bottom of the stairs.

She gave me a worried look when she saw my tired eyes, but she held her tongue until I sat down beside her with my own plate. Breakfast consisted of waffles, fresh fruit and bacon. It was delicious; our cooks never disappointed.

"How was Chloe last night?" Sofia asked, cutting into her waffle.

"She was fine," I said through a mouthful of fruit. She eyed me up and down.

"Is something wrong?" She questioned me.

"I guess you could say that," I laughed to myself. Sofia glanced at our parents, who were busy conversing themselves. Then, she looked back at me and prompted me to talk.

I took a sigh and continued.

"Gavi was at the bar last night with his friends. He came over, and we started immediately talking. He asked me to go for a walk, and I was so excited to finally make things right between us. He pulled me aside outside and he told me that he had feelings for me. That he liked me. I....I just froze...I should have told him that I felt the same way, because I do. I'm such an idiot," I mumbled softly, trying my best not to cry.

     Sofia just stared at me.

"What do I do?" I asked, my voice trembling.

Sofia just stared at me. She looked like she was thinking, very deeply.

"You need to tell him," she said flatly. Glancing back to her half-empty plate.

I just nodded to myself, lowering my head. My hair fell in front of my eyes.

"You need to," Sofia pleaded me. My eyes searched hers as I looked up again.

"I will," I replied softly. I gripped her hand underneath the table.

I just didn't know how I would do it yet.

Sofia seemed to read my mind.

"You need to do something big, a big gesture. Buy him something," she whispered, leaning closer to my ear.

I thought about that for a moment.

     "Like what?" I retorted back.

"Something soccer related? Something thoughtful?" She inquired, raising an eyebrow.

     "Flowers?" I asked.

Sofia just looked at me and nodded carefully.

"That's very thoughtful. Give him the flowers and tell him how you really feel. Hopefully, you two can forget everything that happened last night," she instructed me.

I was so thankful to have Sofia. She always had bright ideas in dire situations.

I smiled at her warmly. I had my plan in place.

I was on the way to the flower shop when I came across a big problem. Gavi was still in Barcelona, and our family wouldn't be getting back there in a while.

I would mail him the flowers, with a lengthy card I had made telling him that I felt the same way. That was my plan. Hopefully he would get the gift, and hopefully he would read the message. It was all I could do at this point.

I entered the flower shop downtown, the door chiming above my head. It was relatively empty; one couple was digging through the roses and a young woman was checking out a small plant. The clerk behind the counter smiled at me as I walked up.

"What can I help you with today?" She asked me, smiling brightly.

"Is it possible to mail flowers from here?" I questioned in reply.

The woman nodded and pulled a large box out from under the counter.

"Of course, dear. Just pick out the flowers you want and I'll help you get them sorted out," she said.

I began to search the store for a bouquet that I thought Gavi would like. He wore blue a lot; I figured something blue would be thoughtful. Roses were a no; we weren't to that stage of a relationship yet. I found a beautiful bundle of blue flowers. They were mesmerizing, with their different shades and hues.

I returned to the counter, holding the bundle in my hands. I placed it on the counter in front of the woman.

"These ones will do," I smiled gently. She nodded and began to package them carefully, so that the flowers weren't squished inside. When she wasn't looking, I slipped my note inside and hid it underneath the flowers.

She taped the box and printed a small receipt for me, asking for my card. I slid it to her, and she swiped it.

"You're all set, have a great day," she said, waving me goodbye. I waved back and carried my box out the door. There was a mailbox a few blocks down that I could put this in.

I reached it a few minutes later and opened the chute, carefully placing the box inside. I gave it one last look before I closed the chute and left, making my way back home.

I hoped this would be enough. I hoped that Sofia had been right. I hoped Gavi would forgive me.
