                                                                                           Leonor

I woke up at the crack of dawn. Quite literally. The sun had barely risen above the horizon when I opened my curtains to let the sunlight in. Today was the day; my second Barcelona game. I wondered what kind of show Gavi would put on for me today.

Picking out an outfit was easy. I grabbed my new personalized jersey that the team had sent me, along with a pair of denim jeans. I decided to wear sandals today, since the weather looked hot and humid in Barcelona.

Getting ready wasn't so easy this morning. I had huge bags underneath my eyes and I had a killer headache. My throat was also a bit sore. Yuck.

I dunked my face in the sink in cold water, hoping that would wake me up. It did.

Just as I was about to behind the process of getting dressed, my phone began to ring. I picked it up off of the counter and answered it quickly with one hand, folding my jeans with the other.

"Hey Chloe!" I smiled, setting the freshly folded jeans next to the sink.

"Hey girl!" She replied happily from the other end.

"So, me and Gio scored some free tickets to the Barcelona game tonight and we were wondering if you and Sofia would like to go," she added.

I paused for a moment to think about my answer.

"Actually, we were already planning on going. Gavi invited us. It's a long story. You and Gio should go though, we'd love to see you there!" I laughed excitedly.

"Gio doesn't like Barcelona," Chloe said blankly.

"Convince him to go, please?" I pleaded like a little girl.

"Fine, I'll see what I can do," Chloe finally said. There was a hint of a smile in her voice.

"Good. Talk to you later then," I said, saying my goodbyes. I told her I loved her and then hung up the phone.

I had no idea how today was going to go. It could be great, or it could be awful. I would just have to wait and see.

I was ready within the hour, and so was Sofia. We met downstairs on the landing.

"You look beautiful!" She gushed happily. "Gavi is going to be shell-shocked when he sees you!"

"Oh, shut up," I teased, shoving her.

"Admit it, you think he's cute," Sofia poked at me with her finger. I shoved her away.

"I'm admitting nothing. Come on, let go outside before Mario leaves. Without us," I said quickly.

Sofia followed me out of the back door. She was wearing her Felix jersey, a pair of black jeans and some sandals. She looked beautiful herself.

Mario was waiting with the limo out back like promised.

"Hello, girls. Ready for the game?" Mario questioned, turning around in the drivers seat to face us as we got in.

"You bet we are!" Sofia answered excitedly. I smiled at her; I loved seeing her so excited.

"I hope you don't mind if I sit with you girls. I brought myself a ticket," he smiled at us proudly.

We both smiled at him in return. Mario was the best; we could count on him whenever we needed to be somewhere. I still didn't forget how fast he drove when I was going to be late for my date with Gavi.

"We'll be there in a few short hours," he said before turning the car on and pulling out into the street.

I opened my phone to see an unread text from Chloe:

"I convinced Gio to go with me, so we'll be there for the game tonight! Let us know when you get there so we can meet up xoxo"

I responded to her quickly and shut my phone off, stuffing it into my purse.

"Gio and Chloe are going to be at the game, too," I told Sofia. She turned her head to face me slowly.

"I thought Gio didn't like Barcelona," she questioned.

"He doesn't, she's just good at convincing people," I smirked.

"Sounds a lot like someone I know," she said, pointing to herself. I swatted at her playfully. She did have a point. I wouldn't be here today if she hadn't convinced me.

We reached the stadium an hour before the game was set to begin. We all knew the drill; Mario parked the car, and we all got out for the long walk ahead of us. I was staying in contact with Chloe the entire way to the stadium.

When we entered the building, I immediately spotted Chloe, standing where she said she would be. Gio looked grumpy, but I noticed he was wearing a Barcelona shirt. Chloe must have made him wear it.

"Leonor!" She squealed as soon as she saw me. She rushed over and enveloped me in a hug. Noticing Sofia standing off to the side, she pulled her in as well. A big group hug.

Gio and Mario began to talk as we all walked to our seats. I had no clue where they were.

The players were finishing signing autographs when we made it into the dome. Gavi was there, signing a little boys jersey. He looked happy, for once.

"I'm going to go say my thank you's to Gavi," I muttered, to no one in particular. Chloe and Sofia gave me particular looks. Gio and Mario exchanged a knowing glance.

"Give him a kiss while you're at it!" Sofia teased. I slapped her arm. Hard.

"I would never do that," I said, swatting the air. Ugh.

I could feel the eyes on me as I made my way down the stairs to the tunnel. Gavi caught sight of me, and I swear I could see his eyes light up.

"You made it," he said when I arrived. He looked shocked to see me.

"Why wouldn't I?" I questioned. I felt like being nice tonight. Or at least somewhat nice.

"You don't seem like the type to follow through," he responded blankly.

     "Very funny," I fake laughed.

The other guys were making their way to the bench, taking off their jackets and prepping for the game. Gavi shot some glances their way.

"I supposed I should be going now. Well....good luck. I hope you win. Thanks for inviting me," I said, in the most polite voice I could muster. This wasn't as hard as I had thought it would be.

He smiled at me, and for the first time I believed it was a genuine smile.

"Thanks, enjoy....the game," he stuttered, giving me a small wave before trotting away to join his teammates. Well, that didn't go as bad as I thought it would.

Maybe I should give him a chance.

I returned to our seats a few minutes later, and all four of them stared at me expectantly.

"Fill us in, girl!" Chloe exclaimed.

I gave them the run through of our conversation. Sofia gasped; Chloe's eyes seemed to light up. Even Gio seemed surprised.

The game started a few moments later. Barcelona was 3-1 so far in their season. This was their 5th overall game.

Nothing much happened for the first 30 minutes. Right before halftime, JoΓ£o Felix took a penalty kick and scored. The entire crowd went wild, and Sofia seemed to be screaming to loudest. We all cheered together. Even Gio looked happy. He kept smiling at Chloe. One day, I wanted a relationship like theirs.

The game ended up being 1-0 Barcelona. That was the only goal scored. The stadium was abuzz as the players left the pitch. Gavi waved in my direction, and I could feel my cheeks heating up. I tried to stop it before anyone noticed.

"This was amazing! I'm so glad you two could make it!" Chloe gushed, pulling me and Sofia in for another hug. Mario and Gio shook hands and gave each other pats on the back. They seemed to be getting along well.

We said goodbyes, blowing kisses each other's way. Soon after, the couple disappeared into the massive crowd of people leaving the stadium.

I grabbed Sofia's hand to keep her close, and Mario followed behind us. We made it back to the car soon after.

Mario turned the car on and made sure we were settled before he said, "You girls are really pleasant. I'm so glad I was able to come," he smiled.

I leaned forward and gave Mario a small hug. Now I know why my parents chose him to be our designated driver.

As I settled back in my seat, I couldn't help but feeling happy. Today hadn't been nearly as bad as I thought it would be. My phone buzzed a second later. I grabbed it and checked my notifications quickly.

    A message from Gavi.

I opened it quickly. It read:

"Thanks again for coming tonight. Wish I could have scored a goal hahaha. You're welcome anytime, princess. Best wishes, Gavi."

I began to smile. Not just a half-hearted smile, a real one. I didn't even care to hide it.

Maybe I was starting to fall for him, but not a lot. I wasn't putting myself out there yet.

I responded formally and shut my phone off for the night. I was suddenly exhausted.

I was glad I had came today. Something felt different when we saw each other. It was almost like Gavi was a different person. But then again, maybe I was too.
