"Don't put too much pressure on it!" Nezha grunted at the pain of pressured applied to his leg as he tried to take a step forward. Your arms wrapped around his shoulder, as you made him lean on you slightly. Despite him being taller than you, he managed to put a small bit of his weight on you, diverting it from his leg. "Monkey King really banged you up." You laughed, making Nezha grimace at the name of his ally.
You knew how the two weren't on the best terms, especially now after Monkey King literally destroyed Nezha's temple. Rubble and debris was everywhere, scattered where the grand temple once stood. It was a sad sight. Oh, the memories you made with the third lotus prince here. Oh well, there are always new ones to be made. "Don't talk of that simian." He grimaced, leaning more weight on you. You cocked a brow with an amused smile. "Too soon?" You chuckled, your tails wrapping around his waist, slightly lifting him. "So, he's planning on reforging the fire?" You asked, making Nezha nod. Your smile slightly faltered at the idea. You knew why he was going to do it, but it would be risky.
You sighed, looking forward in the distance, as Nezha stared at you. The dark and powerful aura that came from far away unsettled both of you. It was clear she was back again. "Well, looks like I'm going have to join him." Nezha's eyes widened, looking at you with astonishment. "What!? What do you-" "I'm going with him. You know how he is, someone's gotta make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble." "But I thought you-" "Said that I would never see him again? Yea, but it looks like I don't have much of a choice. I did promise that I would help humanity from any harm. And besides, you know how Monkey King gets when a life-threatening situation is right in front of him." You looked back at Nezha's shocked face, as you chuckled. "Don't worry, I won't leave right away. It would be cruel to just leave you here with an injured leg. I go once I finish patching you up."
You carefully guided him to the floor, sitting him down to inspect the rest of his injuries. He was beaten up pretty badly, but he would recover soon. His leg was the most injured, barely being able to walk on it without a sharp pain coming from it. He looked down, a frown clearly visible as you checked for any other major injuries. He didn't want you to leave. Especially if it's because of the simian. You can't leave, he wouldn't let you. As you were fixing up some of his bandages, you had heard him mutter something, making your movements slow. "Pardon?" "Why" You stared at him with confusion plastered all over your face, as you tilted your head. "Hmm?" "Why do you have to leave so soon?" You looked at him with an unreadable expression, before sympathetically smiling. He broke eye contact with you, unable to continue staring at your kind eyes. He hated how he had to depend on you in this moment, but at the same time didn't mind it.
"It's best to go as soon as possible, to make sure he doesn't screw up anything." You stood, brushed off the dust on your knees, and looking down on him while still having that sympathetic smile. Nezha couldn't look at you directly in the eye. Oh, how he always had felt admiration and amazement when he looked at you. The way you fought, the way you cared for him like a brother, the way you could make him feel so dependent on you in a tough situation. He tried to hide his adoration as best as he could around you and others. He hated how he had to depend on you to keep him sane. You two had really bonded, ever since you ran away from Wukong. You would visit him almost every day, and rambled about the mortal realm, and how interesting it was now a days. Sometimes, the two of you would go to the Heavenly Garden, telling stories, looking at the plants. Those were the best days of his life, even more special when he was given the opportunity to keep watch on the Samadhi Fire map safe, and behind its barrier. Was he really about to let all that go, now?
He hadn't even noticed you getting ready to leave, the sound of you summoning a star had broken him out of his thoughts. You had jumped onto it, before turning your head to look at him with a smile. You fully turned your body around, shrugging your shoulders. "Welp, better get going. See ya Nezha!" You winked, turning back around, and crouching, preparing to shoot off into the distance before a hand grabbed your wrist. You had flinched at its harshness and tightness, looking back to see Nezha. He held an almost pleading look on his face, though his grip made you uncomfortable. "Y/N, please don't leave." His voice wavered slightly, as he stared down at the floor. The evident desperateness in his voice made you frown deeply. You shook your head, sending him a small smile. "Sorry Nezha. You know I have to do this." You tried to pull away from his grip, but he wasn't budging. "Please.. Let go. You're hurting me."
...He's hurting you? No. You were hurting him more. He wasn't the one leaving, leaving you to beg for him to not go. Why were you being so inconsiderate. He just wants you to be with him, was that so much to ask? He couldn't let you go. He wouldn't let you go- His grip had lightened at him getting stuck in his thoughts, making you draw your hand back. Before he could blink, you had taken off, screaming a hasty 'Seeyouwhentheworldissaved!' as you disappeared in the distance. Nezha sat there in silence, staring at where you went. A small golden sparkly trail following the star you were flying on. He couldn't believe he let you go like that.
Nezha clenched his fist so tight, he thought blood was threatening to pour out. He sighed, before smiling. Not a normal smile, a crazy smile. An insane look was plastered all over his face, and his dilating pupils made his vision slightly blurry. He visibly grimaced. Oh, how he wanted to protect you, but you were so oblivious to that. The little things he does, the overprotective behaviors, you never noticed anything. But it's not your fault, no. He was the one who tried to hide it. A calm smile soon replaced the irritated look, and he sighed blissfully. You're lucky he was so patient with you. He had the sanity to wait a little longer. He would first clean up his now destroyed temple, and then go and find you. Maybe he could have a word with Wukong for taking you away from him with his idiotic idea of saving the word. After, you two could come back to the Celestial Realm, walk around the garden, and he keep you with him forever. You could tell him your stories, teach him some of your clever tricks in battle like you used to do when you came to visit. He could protect you from those who want to hurt you. Better then Wukong could. That was all he wanted. He needed you to feel sane. He hates how dependent he is on you, but he doesn't care anymore. He just knows that he needs you with him by his side, and only you. He can imagine him and you, sitting under the large peach tree. His head leaning back against its trunk, while you talked about whatever. He would never admit it, but he admired you. He admired the way you never backed out of a challenge, the way you fought and your unique techniques and strategies. He was you as an older sibling. Of course, he'd take that secret to his grave. When he gets you back, he'll make sure you never ever leave again. It would be perfect, but first, he needed to heal.

You felt bad for leaving Nezha by himself back there, but the world needed you. He would understand, he always did. Your star approached the ship your former partner was on. The reason you knew, was because of his loud voice, and a yell of protest as he said something about the tightening of bandages. You floated close to the side of the ship, trying to avoid being seen. You jumped of your star, using the chains round your belt to grab on to the top of the ship, and plant your feet on the side.
You held onto your chains, and used them as a rope while climbing to the top. You heard more muffled voices from the ship's deck in the process, making hum. Looks like he had a couple of friends with him. You stealthily made your way to the top, crouching down on the roof and looking down at the scene below you. There were six people in total, counting Wukong.
One of them was a pig, wearing something you thought was for cooking. The other was a large blue muscular man, with a cat on his shoulder. He seemed more like a gentle giant then a potential threat. The other was a man with circular, gold rimmed glasses, looking over the edge while adjusting his them. He had smooth black hair that was combed sideways. He wore changpao, the left side was white while the other was red. He also had a red scarf warped around his neck and black boots.
The two that mostly had your attention was two young adults. One was wrapping a bandage around the top of his head. Monkey King sometimes squirmed, which obliviously annoyed the woman, so much so, that she had to bonk him on the head a couple of time to finally get him to stay still. It made you chuckle. She had short chin-length black hair with two small pigtails, straight bangs, and two green highlights. She had pale pink lipstick, white shirt and pants, and a teal varsity jacket with light green sleeves. An image of a dragon was printed on the back of the jacket.
The other was a young man, who was over at the front of the ship, leaning his elbows over the railing. He looked stressed, and nervous, which made you pity him. He was Wukong's successor after all. You had seen him before, always watching from a distance as he saved the city numerous times. You knew his name, MK. You may or may not have stalked him a few times while he worked. Hey, this was your formers partners successor, and you would be lying if you said that you weren't at least a little curious about him. MK had spiky black hair that was kept up by a red bandana. He had thick eyebrows and normally had a cheeky grin on his face most of the times. So, to see him so fidgety and upset was surprising. MK wore his signature orange jacket that depicted a laughing monkey face on the back. The jacket had red pockets and a small cloud on the left. Under it, he wore a white shirt and red pants, with black sneakers. His shirt had a black and red target symbol on the front.
You glanced back down at Wukong. You guess he had a wardrobe change after fighting Nezha. He wore a yellow robe with black trim and sleeves with a turquoise neckerchief. He had red pants, black shoes, and a white belt.
You stared at him, as he rambled about something about his fight with Nezha. This was your chance to surprise him. You wanted to play a little trick on him. Now, you weren't one for pranks, but this would lighten the mood. You hoped it would at least. You summoned your star and floated above the clouds, making you invisible to the ones on the ship. You quietly giggled, before clearing you throat and attempting your best villain voice.
The gang on the ship perked up, alert when they heard the echo of an evil laugh. They stood in a fighting stance, looking in all directions for the source of the voice. "Mwah ha ha! Yes, it is I! I have come to destroy you once and for all, Monkey King!" The voiced boomed through the clouds, as the team still stood alert. They all slowly moved closer to each other, in a circle to look all ways. Monkey King scratched the back of his neck with and said with a confused voice. "Destroy me? Do I know you?" Another laugh came from his response, but it sounded more genuine. "Of course, you do!"
A figure then appeared on the roof of the ship, catching everyone's attention. They hid in the shadows, barely noticeable, before jumping off the roof. They did a backflip in the air, landing perfectly on their feet in front of the group. They were crouched, one fist on the ground, and Monkey King let out a loud gasp. "No way.." He muttered, and the others around him stared at him confused. "Do you know them?" MK asked, but he frowned when he didn't get a response from the sage. You then stood, catching everyone's attention, and you slowly lifted your head. Everyone's eyes widened when they looked at your face. The resemblance between you and Monkey King had thrown them off. You laughed at their reactions, placing your hands on your hips as your tails swayed in amusement. "Hey Wukong-" You put on a proud smile, showing your sharp teeth. "Long time no see!"
"Y/N!?"
