After my crowning of becoming Empress, I had changed Shurima for the better and we had become a leading nation for trade.

I was proud of my country and proud of my people, knowing that this wouldn't be possible without them.

Also lately Ambessa and I had been sending each other letters about our lives, knowing that the last time we saw each other was before I left.

While it hurt that we hadn't found time to see each other, it was good to know that my love was safe...or as safe as a warlord could be.

But today I received a letter from the council in Piltover for a meeting.

I honestly didn't want to meet with them, they were weak and always tried to make attempts to spy on Shurima, my people thankfully taking up for me and never talking.

"*sigh* these weasels, I can't seem to get away," I sighed, Karissa quick to look at the note.

"Well...joining the council would help a bit," "Help burden me? Piltover's-" "been a thorn in our sides. But wouldn't it help to redirect that thorn towards others? You know they haven't been the only ones snooping around".

It was annoying but I knew Karissa was right. Being allied would be useful and my merchants would have a wider range to explore, especially with this new hextech.

"Fine, send a letter for the council to meet here," I sighed, standing up and fixing my clothing.
Hair and fit check

It's been years but now and then I rest my hand over my stomach, looking at the scar of where that spear pierced me, reminding myself of how far I've come.

Anyway, I ventured out of my study to my chambers for a moment, hot tea already waiting on me at my desk so I could write to my love.

To be honest I was a bit upset to hear that Ambessa had children, I wanted to be the only one to see her in that light, but she explained that the man was dead and gone and she held no love for him, which reassured me.

What was sad was that her oldest had been killed, and even though she seemed strong, I knew Ambessa was mourning her son.

I didn't push her to talk about it though, but whenever I got those few letters with Ambessa's true feelings in them, I felt relieved to know she still trusted me to see her in a vulnerable state.

Anyway, I was updating her of the council wanting to meet with me and such, joking that it'd be nice for her to tag along and visit me, unaware that she'd make that true.

But as I allowed myself to get lost in my own words, I heard Karissa walk in.

"Do you still plan on having dinner with the children again?" "Of course, I could never miss it," I smiled, keeping the tradition alive enough that I was able to employ the kids who had grown up many of them servants or even a part of my empirical army.

I wanted to be a driving force and even in the "poorer" parts of Shurima, I made sure to pour money and help into them, crime was at an all-time low and my people never steered away from giving back to me as I give to them.

After finishing my letter and such, I fixed myself up before getting up and leaving my room, almost instantly feeling something bump into my leg, making me look down to see a little girl named Cerys.

Behind Cerys were a bunch of kids, some around her age (5/6) and others nearly 15.

I cherished them all and loved these kids like my own, and I usually considered them to be.

"There y'all are, I was just about to come to look for y'all," I smiled, bending down to pick up Cerys.

"We wanted to come see you," "and now you see me, now come on, tell me about y'all's day," I say, and now the kids had all started telling me about their days, everyone being respectful and letting each other get a chance to speak before the next person.

"So y'all were just having all that fun without me?" "We wanted to invite you, but those big guards scared us," a little boy spoke, not realizing that I was joking.

"Hm well, next time tell them that I gave y'all permission to go wherever you want okay? And if they still don't listen, come get me".

I loved these kids with all of my heart, and I'd lay my life down for them, blood or not.

Once we made it to the dining hall we all sat down and I allowed the kids to continue talking, happy that my day of work was able to end in a night of laughter and silly little jokes.
