With a slight throbbing pain in my back, I suddenly opened my eyes to see large trees towering over me.

"I'm here?" I questioned, trying to sit up while looking at the dark forestry that fought off the morning light that only peeked through a bit.

"Damn," before it could even attack, I had sliced the large snack that loomed behind me, my senses kicked into high gear as I looked back at it.

"No wonder people died so early," I spoke, looking at the snake that had to be larger than the city itself.

Now that I was fully awake though, I had taken out my scroll, seeing the direction I needed to go and what plants and animals I'd see on the trip.

It seemed pretty easy honestly, and before I left I decided to walk back over to the snake.

"I'll be taking this," I spoke, ripping off its fangs, also grabbing some vine so I could keep them with me, knowing I'd need the venom soon.

But now I was off, walking along the trail, seeing discarded weapons from those who didn't make it out, a haunting reminder of what was to come at the slightest sign of hesitation.

The jungle was pretty quiet, of course, there were the sounds of nature, but there weren't any loud or sudden sounds that would alarm me, and I didn't exactly sense anything either.

"Going somewhere?" "What?"

Maybe I shouldn't have been so sure, but I swear I heard Ambessa's voice, but when I looked around, I didn't see anything.

"I know you heard me, My love." "H-how are you even here?" I called out, still trying to take cautious steps while looking around, my heart jumping at the thought of seeing Ambessa again.

"Have you already forgotten me?" "I would never"

The more I talked the further I ventured towards the voice, feeling drawn to the idea that my love was here, in a desert jungle....in another dimension?

Suddenly I stopped all movement, realizing that I couldn't allow myself to succumb to my feelings and a cheap trick, and after looking around to still see nobody around, I ran back to the path, hearing screams from behind, making me realize how much I had ignored my senses.

But mid run I saw her, my Ambessa was standing right there in my path, but I knew it wasn't her.

With tears in my eyes, I used my two daggers to rip the being apart, purple blood spattered out as I looked down at some weird gray thing, realizing that it was all a trick.

But lying next to it was a golden key, a reminder of why I was here.

"I'm sorry my love, once this is over, I'll find the real you," I declared, grabbing the key as I killed off the feelings I had in myself, knowing they had done be dealt away with if I wanted to get back Shurima and the real Ambessa.

With the key in hand, I was back on the path, already sort of beginning to feel tired.

"Bet I've been gone for like two minutes back at home," I said to myself, still walking while being on the lookout for anything useful.

As I walked I felt a bit ashamed of myself for earlier, of course, Ambessa wouldn't be here, but I believed it like a fool.

I never wanted to believe it but love really does make you foolish, and already I made that a true statement.

But I knew it wasn't possible to just stop loving her, there was no point in hurting myself to achieve the unachievable, so I needed to be stronger, and better myself so that way I would never be a fool in love, but simply love.

After some hours of walking and self-reflection, I realized nightfall was beginning to come and I was finally by a river.

I was able to kill two chickens and after skinning and cleaning them, I was able to cook the meat, using a plant-like salt substitute for some kind of seasoning.

'Thank you Nahshon for that scroll' I thought while listening to the meat sizzle.

Once it was done I began to eat, happy to know I wasn't dying my first day here, but I wasn't exactly through either, needing two more keys before I could come home.

After eating and such, I tossed the remnants into the river for whatever animal to eat before I got up to find somewhere else to rest, knowing that a few animals might have caught the scent of my food, so I needed to make some distance before I got to sleep.

"This seems like a cool spot," I nodded to myself before beginning to make a little shelter out of some nearby sticks, and once that was done I wrapped myself up in the blanket that I brought, my things all stored away by magic.

As I allowed my body to rest I closed my eyes and embraced the dark, knowing that the next time I awake, I'd be in for one hell of a day.
