ANGELICA'S POV
I parked my car and walked inside the mall. The girls are gathering at the restaurant I'm cooking at, and they're like vying for someone.
"Excuse me," I said, but they seemed not to care at all, so I tried my very best to push them aside and see what was happening.
"Move, you're blocking my view," a guy blatantly said to me.
"Move, you're blocking my way," I replied to him, and he scoffed.
"Feisty little girl, eh?" He then moved aside, and I saw a familiar face having an eating contest.
"Finish." He then stands up, winks at the girls, making them scream, and catches me looking at him. Oh, he's the vice president, I said to myself.
"Why are you here?" I asked him, knowing that he'd shrug it off. Oh, by the way, he's Jonathan's brother. Nicholas Young, Nick for short. I mean, you know by now.
"I want to eat after visiting Hawaii, is it bad?" He scoffs and stops.
"How about the dog?"
"He's fine, and you can take him tomorrow. I'll bring him here." I said to Nicholas.
"Okay."
"Have you given him a name?"
"Yeah, I named him David." To which he rolled his eyes at me.
"What a boring name."
"Stop nagging, will you? I have work to do." I faked my smile at him and tried to shove him away quietly. We were near his office when the television became static for a second and went back to the news.
"Live report at Hawaii." I stopped shoving him out, and turned my head, looked at the television, and looked back at him.
"Two days ago, there was a massive fight between packs of wolves and people, it is often said that people neighboring near the forest hear the wolf's cry. And our search and rescue team found a wolf's den, right now we don't know who built this den and still are searching for fingerprints." the reporter said as photos of the den that are hiding near the forest.
"Tens of hundreds of people died fighting off wolves, and only about sixty wolves were found dead, and twenty wolves who are injured were sent to the vet and are taken care of. After the treatment, if injured wolves have rabies, the vets onsite will deliver them to an animal quarantine."
"You were in Hawaii, right?" I asked Nick, and he shrugged.
"Did you fight the wolves?" I asked him intensely, making every staff member near the office look at me.
"Tone it down, will you? I didn't fight them off, and I just enjoyed my vacation there," he said in a suspicious tone.
"Fine, I have to go back," I replied and ran back to the restaurant. Many girls are still there at the restaurant waiting for Nick.
"Chef? Have you seen Nick?" One of the waitresses asked me in a girly tone
"He went back to his office, and he'll pass by here later. Now let's go back to work. Many girls are hungry." She nodded happily and asked the customers. Six hours passed by, and I started to worry about David's and Nathan's condition at my house.
"Chef, we'll take a break. We'll come back in 5 minutes." my colleagues ask for my permission.
"It's okay if you take your break for 20 minutes." I smiled at them and reached for my phone in my pocket, I dialed my old phone number, and someone answered.
"Hello?" A voice booms at the speaker that are making me curious as to who it is
"Who are you?" I asked him.
"It's me, Nathan," he answered.
"Is that you?"
"Yeah, when are you coming home? It's almost 7" I looked at my watch and saw that it was already 6:30
"I'll just close the restaurant, be back there at 30," I replied and cleaned all of the mess and replaced today's oil. We replace everything, that's very hygienic of them, and I'm not complaining at all, after cleaning and looking if there are any open stoves, ovens, fans, and lights. My colleagues left earlier than I, and the waitresses and waiters were waiting outside.
"Chef Angel, do you wanna hang out with us tonight?" The waitress that talked to me earlier asked me.
"Sorry, I have to go home early." They frowned and looked at me.
"Go on, have a nice night, guys. And because of our Vice President, our stocks nearly ran out, and we even broke the sales!" I happily said as they clapped cheerfully and started to walk out. I checked my savings in my bank account, and they are nearly in the billions. But because I spend lavishly, I always donate 250,000 to all charities and fundraisers.
"Hey," a calm tone called me at the parking lot, I ignored it and kept walking.
"Hey!" The hushed tone kept getting louder and louder, and someone grabbed me.
"Hey Angel," I looked at it and saw that it was only Mr. Lee.
"Oh, it's just you. You almost scared me to death." I sighed in relief and looked at him.
"I-I have to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"It's about the fight between wolves and the people in Hawaii two days ago."
"What about that?" Mr. Lee was about to answer when Nick came out of the elevator and saw us. He's far from us, but it seems like he can hear us.
"I'll send you the file. You have to know about that," Mr. Lee quietly said and bowed at him before hastily leaving.
"What's wrong with him?" I asked Nick, and he was standing and texting someone.
"Don't know, don't care," he rolled his eyes at me.
"Whatever, see you tomorrow." I was about to open the car door when he handheld it and closed the door, making me jump.
"You had no honorifics when talking to someone higher than your place," Nick hissed.
"Honorifics? Like I care what position I'm at, how would I even do honorifics when I'm talking to an immature person who does nothing but nag at all?" I replied and opened the car door.
"Come on, and you have got to be kidding me. They'll think that I'm a laughingstock." He grabs my hand and playfully swings it.
"I'll do some honorifics when you behave yourself." I smiled at Nick, and he scoffed.
"Like I would do that."
"Then I guess I wouldn'tโ"
"I mean, I'll do it."
"Okay... by the way, where's your brother?"
"Why? You're going to hit on him?" Nick raised his eyebrow at me, making me roll my eyes at him.
"No, he hasn't been here for almost two weeks now. Is he still dealing with the U.K. Governors?" I asked him, and he thought deeply. I squint my eyes at him, knowing what he'd answer.
"Don't know, don't care," I copied him, making him playfully gasp.
"How do you know that I'm going to say that?" he asked me. I said what he said earlier and left him in the parking lot.
Jonathan's POV
It's almost eight, but she's still not here, David is sleeping, and I have to clean all the mess he made. I picked up all of the leftovers and mopped the floors. After cleaning the entire house, I transformed back into a wolf. David still can't believe what he saw, and he's still thinking that I broke in.
"Who are you? How did you get in here?" David kept barking and tried to snarl at me, I clamped his mouth, but he started to scratch me.
"It's me, Nathan. Nothing to be afraid of," he still scratched my hand, and I could only feel his paws but not his claws.
"That tickles." I giggled and tried to tame him, and it took me a lot of hours to tame him. But after that, he started to listen to my story.
"So all along... You were a human and just in disguise?" David asked me, and I nodded.
"Is it possible?"
"Possible? What's possible?"
"Be a human too. I wanted to experience becoming a human," he happily answered. I smiled at him, but I didn't answer. Being a human is painful and sorrowful. You get hurt by them, and you have to be in pain to know reality. You don't know what will happen if you insult or talk back to them rudely. A sudden flash of memories of my past gave me headaches, and I leaned my hands to the nearest object I could stand on.
"Are you okay?" He tilted his head lightly and looked at me. I just grinned and maintained myself.
Meantime...
I looked everywhere to see if there would be any mess and already threw the trash out. Later on, the doorknob fidgets as I sit far away from the door and look at it. I transformed back into a wolf, and the fidgeting continued, and it became suspicious of who was opening the door. The door unlocked with a click, and I growled in a low tone, and so the door opened, and my growl turned into a tone where it was high as if I was curious.
"Did I startle you guys? I can't see the keyhole in the dark, I guess the bulb went out again." Angelica's voice resonates with the silence filled in this house.
"Learn how to knock and name yourself so that I won't suspect who was opening the door," I answered earnestly.
"Wow, you sound like my Dad. That's funny as if you were going to open up the door for me." She chuckles and locks the door.
"I can. You just think I'm useless," I blurted out.
"Well, I mean you have those cute little paws with claws." Angelica smiles sheepishly and puts her bag on the sofa.
"Whatever, do whatever you want. I'm starving. David fell asleep." I replied.
"You're sure that he's sleeping? You didn'tโ" She looks at me with a curious face.
"Even if I ate him, he won't be a big meal. And you know that I'm a picky eater, so be thankful." She scoffs at me and mumbled something.
"What are you saying?"
"Nothing, I'll cook your food. Just wait"
"I'll wait." I waited for what she said.
"Have you heard?"
"Heard what?"
"2 weeks ago, there's a massive fight in Hawaii."
"Why does it matter?"
"Because people and wolves were fighting two weeks ago. I even asked Nicholas, the Vice President of Beon-Yeong Mall, what he was doing there." My eyes slightly widened at the shock and thought about Nick. I'll make sure to visit your place and see how well it's going. I said to myself a little loudly as Angelica started cooking.
"You know, my place is going great because of Ni-" she stopped mid-sentence and looked at me.
"What did you just say?"
