Angelica's POV

Nathan was really surprised when I whispered that at him, he started to wag his tail endlessly and I just chuckled.

"I'm gonna go wash you after, okay?" I pat his head happily as we continue to eat our supper, I grab both him and David in the bathroom and his tail won't stop wagging.

"Is something the matter?" I asked Nathan.

"Oh, no, there's not." he smiled, okay, he's cute when he smiles. I never saw him smile

"You're much cuter when you smile, grumpy," I exclaimed

"It's only for a limited time." Nathan smiles

"Well, time to take a bath," I said in a singsong tone and I carried David as Nathan walked beside me. When we got in there, I turned the faucet on and I just turned the water into lukewarm. I grabbed a pail of water and poured it on him.

"Oh, by the way. Are you a wolf?" he nods

"But, why did you say you are a wolf-dog?"

"Why? Do you want people to take me away and bring me into the pet quarantine?"

"Of course not, I was just wondering." I picked the new scrubber and scrubbed it on Nathan's back.

"I have sensitive skin, be careful." I rolled my eyes at him and David was just swimming in the tub.

"How old are you?" I asked him

"Much older than you," Nathan says jokingly

"Yeah? I'm turning 30 next week, how about you?" I glanced at him while I scrub his body

"A hundred and thirty-one." I laughed at him

"You know how to joke, I thought you're always gonna get grumpy." I rinsed Nathan off and his smile fades.

"I'm not joking, " he said seriously and I shut myself up.

"Awkward, " David added. After that, I just avoided talking and went back to sleep with Nathan on my side and David in between. I woke up earlier than them and I noticed David frowning when he woke up

"I guess Nicholas will pick me up today, sorry if I didn't tell you."

"Aw, it's okay. You can visit us anytime." Nathan's gone.

"Where is he?" I asked him.

"He left an hour ago, he said he'll be back once the full moon arrives." someone knocked on the door and Angelique came out shouting.

"Wait up! How impatient are you to knock on the door countless times like you're gonna pee so bad?!" I heard her say something but stopped when she opened it, I looked at her discreetly and she closed the door immediately at Nicholas and went back to her room.

"They're the ones who're awkward with each other, " I whispered at David and I just giggled, he continued banging on the door and I stood up.

"Coming!" I went to open the door to see Jonathan standing in front of me and I bowed instantly.

"Good morning, sir, come in." I gestured for him to go in and side-step to have a space.

"Thank you for the kind gesture, Ms. Angelica." he complimented, I feel somehow close to him and it weirded me out.

"What brought you here, sir? Are there any problems before the mall?" I asked, he shook his head and a chauffeur came barging in without knocking with some men bringing in boxes of luxurious items from the mall. My mouth hung ajar at it and I looked back at him.

"What— what's this, sir?"

"Those are the finest and luxurious items, of course. I'm making it up to you."

"Oh, no, sir. You don't have to do that—" Jonathan cuts me off.

"No, take it. It's okay. I won't take it back, anyway." he pushed, and an idea came up in my mind.

"Then you guys, you can put it back in the truck. I'll give it to the orphanage." he seems astounded at me.

"You just know that that is expensive, right?"

"You gave it to me, sir. Thank you, this will help a lot of kids." I smiled at Jonathan and he's defeated, he can't take it back he said. His chauffeur snickered lightly and he helped to pick up the boxes.

"No— I, wait— I..." Jonathan stammered in front of me as he saw the chauffeur order the men to put it back inside the truck.

"You don't have to show gratitude, sir, this is already a big help." I pat his shoulder and Nicholas comes in.

"Oh, sir Nicholas. You're here to pick David?" he comes by and grabs his brother by the wrist.

"No, he'll be staying here for a few days more," he says.

"Noted, sir." They stand up and wait in front of the door left and David starts barking happily.

"I'll stay longer! I don't have to face that idiot for a while." he jumps off the bed and looks at Jonathan, they know each other of course. I went to open the door when I smelled the same shampoo that I used at Nathan last night.

"Wait." I grabbed his collar and brought him down to my height.

"What are you doing, Ms. Angelica?" I sniffed his hair and the same faint scent of the shampoo is still on his hair.

"No way, why do you have the same smell as my pet, huh?" he flicked my hands off his collar and explained.

"Mine's more expensive than him." How did he know that it was a 'him'?

"What's the name of the shampoo then?"

"It's—" I gasped at Jonathan and stepped back.

"Don't tell me—" his eyes widened at me.

"You're his owner! That's why you have his necklace, I should've known earlier." I pushed Jonathan out of my house and he tried to explain.

"I— no, listen—" I cut him off by asking something that caught him off-guard.

"Do you like me?" I asked all of a sudden.

"What?" Jonathan laughed at my question and continued walking.

"I mean, you let your pet stay at my house, you even gave the necklace I made for him. Wait, are you abandoning him?" I asked him without letting him talk, he was just there, standing and his expression amused.

"Are you done now?"

"I guess..." I trailed off and avoided his gaze.

"We're going now, don't worry, Nathan will be back." Jonathan smiled at me and they left, leaving me all confused and puzzled. Why is Nathan with that guy?

Jonathan's POV

I sat inside the car with a loud grunt and brushed my hair in frustration.

"That girl got you, huh?" Nicholas asked me.

"No, I just can't control myself because I want to hug her so bad."

"So, you do like her?"

"You like her sister, right?" I deflected Nicholas' question by asking him the same thing about her sister.

"Why did the topic turn into me?"

"You really like Angelique, how come?"

"She's cool, she's gentle and sassy too," he says, he turns around at me and asks.

"And what about you? How come you liked Angelica?"

"When she found me one time in my room, she was shocked that there's a wolf, " I pointed to myself and continued.

"And when she took me to her house, I wanted to leave. But she kept on insisting. I never saw that sweet and jolly side in her."

"Yeah, she keeps talking like she's the boss there," he exclaimed, I chuckled at him and continued talking.

"She's always caring, and by the way. Have you heard of it?" I asked him when I remembered that she can talk to animals

"Heard what?" I affirmed.

"She can talk to animals, I thought she was bluffing but she can understand me."

"Really? I thought Angelique's sister was crazy, but it turns out, it's true."

"You made out with her, didn't you?" I nudged Nicholas' shoulder.

"Of course not, she's mad at me because I didn't care when she was talking about that. Ugh, I feel stupid." he groans in anger and he bangs his head against the car window and it immediately breaks.

"You better pay for that, Mr. Nicholas. You forgot that the both of you are strong enough to lift a whale," The chauffeur said as he stared at it.

"Yes, I know—"

"Sir, you too. You still remember when you punched the wall?"

"Oh, right." I sighed.

"The thing is..." Nicholas became serious all of a sudden.

"Remember 10 years ago?" He asked.

"What's with it?"

"The two girls we saved back then." I nod at his statement.

"And what of it? They're here to thank us?" I asked Nicholas.

"No, they're already here. We didn't know."

"I'm probably sure I didn't get what you said." He looks at the photo he picked up when one of the pictures fell off the pinboard during the loading session of Angelica's supposed furniture.

"It's them, " he said. I'm so confused.

"Be more specific, what do you mean it's them?"

"It's Angelica and Angelique." My eyes widened from the news I heard.
