Angelique's POV

"You know mister, I didn't quite catch your name." I fixed his crooked necktie and pulled his business card.

"So you're Felix, huh?" I tighten the necktie and put my heels on his chest.

"Y-yes." He chokes on his own words.

"I thought you knew me, but why did you miss this?" I used my handbag to slap him and he was shocked.

"Let's go," Nicholas says.

"If you ever did something cruel, remember that I'll let you choke on your own." I hissed at him, and he nodded as he gulped. We left the club and I started laughing at his reaction.

"Stop laughing." Nicholas removes his suit and covers my ripped dress, I blushed all of a sudden but he can't see it.

"Thanks." I tied it at my waist and we parted ways.

"Hey, aren't you coming too?" he asks

"Hm? Where?"

"You know... around the park" Nicholas suggested.

"But it's nearly night, is there any open park?"

"I know one." He walks to his car as I call someone to drive my car near Angelica's workplace before getting in. We drive for a long time before he skids to a stop. Nicholas gets out and quickly strides to open the door for me, I grin at him and he closes the door as soon as I get out.

"So, why are we here?" I questioned Nicholas.

"To talk," he says simply and he continues.

"How did you learn to defend yourself?"

"I did martial arts when I was a teen."

"Oh, but why the long face?"

"Justβ€”" I sighed sadly and saw a bench to sit on.

"You can tell me," Nicholas says cheerfully.

"We're not that close."

"Well, I wouldn't bring you to central park if I don't feel close to you." He pushes.

"Fine, but don't feel pity when I tell you this."

"Okay."

"It was 2005 when a tragic thing happened, it traumatized me and also Angelica. I was about to sleep when a truck came directly at us, then in a blink of an eye, we were both out of the car and our parents. They couldn't be saved because the truck fully destroyed the front and we don't know who saved us but I'm probably sure it was two people." I looked at Nicholas and he was really listening to it and I just continued anyway.

"And after that incident, Angelica... she developed something."

"What is?"

"Her cerebrum was damaged, but when it's finally healed... she started to communicate with animals. Doctors don't know what it is, but it's true, she can speak with any animal. At first, I don't believe what she was saying because the doctors find it impossible, but when they start examining her... They started to believe her, even I did, but we kept it confidential because if the other people know... they might examine her over and over." he squints at me

"What's with that look?"

"It's just, it's too much information to handle."

"I know, you know why I chose to be a veterinarian?"

"Hm?"

"It's because she feels sad whenever there's someone hurt and some are abandoned, I don't know what got her. Whenever there's no one taking them home, she keeps them for a while and people call her zoo lady." I chuckled at that remark but Nicholas seems deep in thought.

"But then here's something weird." He raised his eyebrow at me.

"We met a wolf, I told her to keep it because I don't want it to be sent somewhere." Nicholas suddenly looks at me, surprised by what I said.

"Then... she named her because it's a he, and I don't remember it." I continued.

"What is his name?" He asked.

"I don't remember," I weakly said as I pinpoint.

"Try!" Nicholas pushes.

"Okay! I'll try." I think deeply and only a word comes out but he doesn't seem to hear it.

"What is it?" Nicholas questioned.

"Nathan, there. Are you happy?" His eyes widened and I went back to the car and opened the backseat.

"Why aren't you sitting in front?"

"Don't even talk to me, you didn't even listen. You were zoned out and it's just a waste of time, hit it."

"I listβ€”"

"Just hit the pedal goddammit."

"I'm sorryβ€”"

"Don't. Even. Try." I warned him, he hit it and we're back in Manhattan. I open the door and stride angrily.

"I said I'm sorry! Do I have to be sad when listening?"

"No, you idiot! People don't need pity nor sadness for them to be understood, what they need is people who

can listen no matter how long shit they've got to say!" Nicholas was taken aback and I just turned my heel and got to my car. I don't know what got into me but I got so angry at him.

ANGELICA'S POV

I just finished working and talking with Madeleine, she got off first before me. When the door opens I hear two people talking distantly.

"People don't need pity nor sadness for them to be understood, what they need is people who can understand them no matter how long shit they've got to say." An angry woman shouts at someone and she starts the car as soon as she gets in. I recognized the car when I looked at the plate number.

"Wait!" I ran fast enough but the car was faster, so my sister stood me up.

"Angelica, what are you doing here?" Nicholas asked me.

"Well, she's about to take me home."

"Get in, I'm going to take you home." Nicholas looked up and I did, Jonathan was looking at us. Specifically, me. When we made eye contact, he closed the window like a kid who was watching me. My upper left lip suddenly hitched at his childish act and went in.

"Why are you guys shouting earlier, anyway?" he suddenly chokes.

"We just had a misunderstanding, that's all," Nicholas says, the rest of the trip was dead quiet until I arrived home.
