β€” GRAPHIC TOWARDS THE END

β€” THE SWAN HOUSE was silent when Brooke arrived. Bella's truck was in the driveway, surely there should have been a sign that she was home. But, there wasn't

"Bella?" Brooke called out as soon as she entered through the front door. "Bella...!!" She called out once more, frowning when her sister didn't respond.

"Okay, this isn't funny, Bells." She mumbled under her breath as she climbed up the stairs. Making her way into her sisters room, the bedroom door wide open.

"What the hell...?" She looked around the room, it looked like nothing in there had beenn touched since that morning.

"Damn you, Edward." Brooke cursed her sister boyfriend, figuring that she was with him. She took out her handheld from her small purse, scrolling through her contacts and finding Rosalie's.

Out of all the Cullen's, surprisingly, Brooke and Rosalie did get along. Maybe it was the fact that Brooke didn't want to be a vampire, and that she valued her life and how she lived.

The line went dead, Rosalie's number had been disconnected. "β€”What?" She scoffed out, shaking her head. She pressed on her father contact, waiting as it rang for a bit before he answered.

"Hey pumpkinβ€”" Charlie was interrupted by Brooke's worried rambling.

"Daddy, Bβ€”Bella's gone! I dunno where she went. Her truck's in the driveway but there's no sign of her." Brooke paced inside her sisters bedroom, her free hand going to tug a few strands from her hair, a sign of stress and worry.

"She's not with that boyfriend of hers?" Charlie asked, though she could hear the small ounce of worry peering through.

"No! I called and the numbers have been disconnected. Dad, what ifβ€”" Brooke's rambling was cut off by Charlie speaking. "Don't worry, pumpkin . I'm going home and i'll have the guys lookin' for her."

She could hear shuffling from the other end of the line, a clear sign that he was getting up to leave. "I'll be there in a few minutes, pumpkin."

β€”

"She's gonna be okay, Penny." Kim tried to comfort her best friend, but Brooke wasn't entirely convinced. Charlie had organized a search party for Bella.

Somehow, Billy had been able to rope in Sam Uley to help. Of course, accompanied by Paul and Jared.

The three shifters had split up in order to look for the oldest Swan twin. Sam was the only one who'd caught her scent up close.

He followed it and soon enough there she was.

On the ground, Bella lied there unmoving. Her face was wet as if she had been crying. Her jacket was full of dirt from where she'd been on the ground.

Sam picked her up into his arms, noticing the way she was shivering.

"He's gone..." Bella kept repeating.

Sam walked through the woods towards the Swan house, being able to see due to all the lights in the home were on.

"I'm gonna call the Cullens again." Charlie muttered as he took out his handheld. "They're not gonna answer, Dad." Brooke told him, she was standing a little off to the side.

Embry, Jacob, Kim, and Quil had come to help too, Charlie had called everyone in a worried panic.

Embry had his arm wrapped around Brooke's shoulders, giving her someone to lean on. Kim held Brooke's right hand in her own, offering her a sense of comfort.

"The Cullens left town, Charlie." Billy told his friend, the line had went dead. Just as it did when Brooke had called earlier.

"Good riddance." Harry Clearwater said lowly in response to Billy's words.

Jacob turned when he heard the sound of leaves crunching, spotting Sam Uley approaching from behind the home.

With Bella in his arms.

"Charlie." Jacob called, the man turned around and in an instant he was rushing forward toward where the older boy stood.

Brooke turned her head, relief filling her body at the sight of her sister. She noticed both Jared and Paul standing closer to the treeline a little far away.

Paul's eyes had drifted to where his imprint stood, an unfamiliar feeling settled in him when he saw her in the arms of another.

His thoughts melted away when she met his eyes.

He wasn't a lip reader, but he knew the words she was mouthingβ€”and he knew they were directed his way.

"Thank you."

Two words, as if she had known that he was out helping look for her sisterβ€”maybe they weren't aimed for just him.

But, oh, did he wish they were.

He watched as Brooke gently removed herself from Embry's embrace and followed her father inside as he carried Bella in.

β€”

Nightmares. Nightmares plagued Brooke's sleep regularly. James face engraved into her mind. The way he taunted her that night, the way he tricked her and Bella.

"He's gonna come to save your sister...but who's gomna come to save you?" James smirked, using his pointer finger to move the strand of hair away from her face.

In the back Bella was groaning in pain after he'd broken her leg.

He took a hold of her wrist, Brooke's eyes glistened with unshed tears. Shaking her head as he brought her wrist closer to his mouth.

"No, no, please, no!" She cried.

Her cries fell upon deaf ears because he didn't seem to care. His teeth plunged into her skin, his eyes closing in pleasure.

He didn't want to turn her.

No

He wanted to kill her.

Her scream echoed throughout the studio. "Brooke!" Bella shouted for her sister, her heart shattering as she watched.

Then James was ripped from her, Edward had gotten there.

Alice rushed towards Brooke's shivering body, the human girl was convulsing in pain. Her screams of agony shaking them all.

"Carlisle! She's been bit!" Alice shouted.

Carlisle was there in an instant. "I need to get the venom out before it spreads." He said softly, taking her wrist in his hand.

"Brooke, i'm gonna help you." Brooke was in too much pain to realise he was speaking to her.

The last thing she remembers is Carlisle's teeth plunging into the place James' had been previously. Focused on sucking the venom out instead of her blood.

and then it went dark.

Brooke shot up in her bed when a piercing scream echoed throughout the house, coming from Bella's room.

Bella had her own nightmares, now.

It was her turn to help her twin, just like how Bella had helped her before. So she got out of bed and walked into her sisters room.

"Bells, Bella wake up!" Brooke shook the girl awake.

Bella looked around, letting her eyes adjust to her surroundings before they landed on her twin. A sense of comfort settled in her, her eyes teared up.

Brooke frowned before climbing into Bella's bed, taking her sister's body into her arms. Letting Bella lean on her and cry.

"It'll be okay, Bells."
