β€” QUIL had phased, meaning Brooke wasn't allowed around the pack for a while. To be fair, she hadn't been allowed around since both Leah and Seth had phased. Assuming it was too dangerous for her to be around the newly ill-tempered shifters, Quil finally phasing was only the cherry on top.

"Bongiourno, Bella!" Brooke greeted her sister, as she entered her sisters bedroom. Bella gave her sister an odd look before huffing a laugh, "What?"

"You were in Italy, duh. It's Italian." She stated, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. In her mind, it was.

Bella went to speak but was instantly cut off.

"Brooβ€”"

"β€”Also, cliff jumping? Bella, are you a lunatic? Jake told me what happened." Brooke pointed an accusing finger at her sister. Just as she was about to continue scolding her sister, she heard the window slide open.

"Oh, you're next, Edweirdo." The girl turned, glaring at the vampire before her.

"Next time you decide to pull a stunt like thatβ€”see a therapist." She huffed, not entirely sure why she was yelling at him. She just wanted to.

"I'm sure, Dr. Cullen can refer you to one." Brooke hummed.

"You're concern is greatly appreciated." Edward responded, trying to hide the smile that had snuck its way onto his face.

"I wasn't concerned. I'd just hate for my only source of knowing what people think about me to be gone." The girl shrugged.

Brooke had asked Edward too many times to peek into people's heads and see what they thought about her. Some negative, some positive, point is she just wanted to know. Edward, would do so each time, thinking of it as a way to 'bond' with his girlfriends sister.

"How's dad holding up?" Bella interrupted, she'd left with the knowledge that Harry had passed away. She didn't make it to the funeral.

"He's dealing as best he can. Helps Sue a lot when he can." Brooke frowned, the funeral had been hard for her father. The memory of him choking up mid speech, broke her heart.

"We saw Jake, wβ€”when we got back. How's heβ€”" Brooke cut her off once more.

"I haven't talked to him, with Quil shifting along with the Clearwaters. Sam thought I'd be safer away from the rez for a while." The girl explained, clearly she didn't agree with Sam, but whatever he says goes.

"Hey, umβ€”would you want to come see Mom with me?" Brooke arched a brow at her sisters question. "I'd rather not, but thanks for the invite."

Before she could turn around, she looked back at her sister. "Why the sudden visit?"

"It's my last chance to see her before graduation." Bella's answer was confusing. "Last I checked you still hadn't decided on going to college." Brooke huffed out a laugh.

She noticed the way Edward looked uncomfortable, there was something that wasn't being said.

"What are you not telling me?" Her question hung in the air, only followed by silence. "Bella?"

"My people...we have these kings you could say, in Italy, they were intrigued by Bella being a human. Humans aren't exactly supposed to know of our nature." Edward explained, but Brooke still didn't understand what his explanation had to do with the topic of conversation.

"So what? They wanna kill Bella?" Brooke's eyebrows furrowed.

"I have to be turned." That made the girl's head spin. Her eyes widening as she looked over at her twin sister once more.

"No! No way!"

Bella let out a frustrated sigh at her sister's words of disapproval.

"Thisβ€”This is what you want?" Brooke's question came out harshly, hurt laced in her words. Losing her sister was one of her biggest fears.

"Brooke..."

With one last look at her sister, she shook her head and exited the room.

β€”

"How's Quil holding up?" Brooke had met Jacob at his house, when he'd called and asked to see her, she immediately drove to his house. Having gotten her car back from Paul and Jared.

"He's adjusting." She watched as he worked on his bike, apparently the bike hadn't been working its best, so Jacob was tinkering once again.

"I miss him, I miss all of you guys." Brooke frowned, the friendship she'd grown with the pack was a lot to her. The blooming feelings she'd began to feel for Paul were lingering too, but she was positive he didn't feel the same.

"It's getting late, I should be getting back. Bella left town with Edward a while ago. She invited me, but it was short notice and I'm not exactly close with Renee." The girl stood, stretching her arms as she did so.

"Be careful." Jacob called out as she began to walk out of his garage, she waved him off. Brooke always made sure to stay safe, so she didn't take his words literally.

Climbing into her car, she turned on the radio. Driving away from her best friend's house and making her way back home.

Just as she was close to home, a familiar curly headed ginger appeared infront of her car. With a loud fearful shriek, Brooke swerved.

Avoiding hitting the cold woman. Her car skidded to a stop only a few feet away, but as soon as she looked out the window.

Her door was pulled open.

A cold hand grabbing a fistful of her brown locks, dragging the girl out of the car.

"I've been looking for you." Victoria's voice was sickeningly sweet. Harshly letting go of her hair, she shoved the girl away.

"Wβ€”What?"

"I've had my eye on you since the first day I saw you..." The woman stalked closer. "As did James, you're rather intriguing."

"I mean...what better way to get back at your sister." The last sentence was meant more for herself as she dotted on the brunette.

"This'll be fun." A wicked grin was on the cold woman's lips, and then suddenly, in one swift movement. Victoria had sunk her teeth into Brooke's wrist.

Fresh teeth biting into old wounds.

Brooke's painful echoed, the familiar feeling of venom flowing into her veins was horror. Victoria stepped away, dropping Brooke's now limp form onto the ground.

"A little present for the Cullens." The woman smirked, and then she was gone. Leaving the Swan girl writhing in pain on the road.

She needed help, she had to help herself.

Brooke's shaky hand slid into the pocket of her jeans. Grabbing her phone, she pressed the phone button. Pressing the first person she saw.

Rosalie.

After a few rings, the woman answered the call. "Brooke?" But she couldn't form any words, her sobs were slowly fading as her eyes began to close.

"Help..."

β€”

um.

so, how's everyone !
