"...do you think that, because the Qishan Wen Sect is gone, the Lanling Jin Sect has all the rights to replace it?"
No one made a noise after Wei WuHui uttered those words. But...she wasn't done yet.
"Everything has to be given to you? Everyone has to listen to you? Looking at how the Lanling Jin Sect does things, I almost thought that it was the Qishan Wen Sect's empire all over again!" Wei WuHui smirked coldly as she looked at the cultivators with smugness.
Jin GuangShan's face flashed in a bright hue of embarrassment and anger. He did not expect such a straightforward responses from the maiden, not after the criticism of her ghoulish cultivation path began to rise and him mentioning the Stygian Tiger Amulet right at this moment was something that they still held against her, that others were still watching her and therefore she shouldn't be so bold as to want to climb above the Lanling Jin Sect.
A guest disciple on her right then shouted out. "Wei WuHui! Watch your words!"
"Did I say something wrong? Forcing living people to be bait and beating them up whenever they refused to obey. Is this any different from what the Qishan Wen Sect does?" Wei WuHui retorted.
"Of course it's different. The Wen-dogs did all kinds of evil. To arrive at such an end is only karma for them. We only avenged a tooth for a tooth, letting them taste the fruit that they themselves had sown. What's wrong with this?" Another guest disciple spoke.
"Then go take revenge on the ones who bite you. Wen Ning's branch doesn't have much blood on their hands. Don't tell me that you find them guilty by association?" Wei WuHui continued.
'What are you doing, A-Yang?' Lan XiChen thought as he watched his beloved with concern.
"Wei Gu-Niang, is it that they don't have much blood on their hands just because you say so? These are only your one-sided words. Where's the evidence?"
"You think that they killed the innocents-aren't those your one-sided words as well? Shouldn't you be the first one to show evidence? Why would you instead ask me for evidence?" Wei WuHui snapped back.
That person can only shake his head in disbelief.
"Back then, when the Wen Sect slaughtered our people, it was thousands of times crueler than this! They didn't treat us with justice and morality, so why should we treat them with such?" Another person glared.
"Oh. The Wen-Dogs did all kinds of evil, so anyone whose surname is Wen can be killed? That's not it, is it? Many of the sects who defected from the Wen Sect are quite well-off right now, aren't they? In this hall, isn't there a few sect leaders from sects that used to be under the Wen Sect's wing?" Wei WuHui inquired as her eyes spotted nervous faces of several sect leaders that had gathered here.
"Since anyone whose surname is Wen can be used as an outlet of anger as one pleases, no matter if they're innocent or not, does it mean that it's fine even if I kill all of them right now?" The maiden continued with a dark grin as one of her hands were placed on her waist where the charcoal-black dizi, Chénqíng, hung.
All of the people shot up from their seats as the memory of the bloody carnage that fell upon the their enemies during the Sunshot Campaign occured in their minds.
"A-Yang!" Lan XiChen gasped worriedly while Lan WangJi's eyes widened and he unconsciously went to grasp his Bichen's hilt.
Jin GuangYao, who's eyes were just on Lan XiChen when he called the maiden with an intimate term of her name, before he turned fully to the maiden. "Wei Gu-Niang, please don't overdo things. Things are still open for discussion."
Jin GuangShan also stood up as his face contorted into a mixture of shock, anger, fear and hatred. "Wei WuHui! Just because...just because Jiang-Zongzhu and your Gēge aren't here doesn't mean you can be so reckless!"
A wide grin grew on her face as the maiden let out an almost insane laugh. "Do you think that I wouldn't be reckless if they were here? If I wanted to kill someone, who could stop me, and who would dare stop me?!"
"A-Yang, Wei Yang, please put down Chénqíng." Lan XiChen pleaded as he now desperately holding her hand.
Wei WuHui turned to face him, looking into the glistening soft-brown eyes as past that she can make out a dark hideous figure reflecting from those beautiful eyes...it was her. Shaking her head, Wei WuHui snapped toward the cowering master. "Jin ZiXun!"
"ZiXun!" Jin GuangShan also shouted hurriedly.
"Enough with this nonsense! I'm sure everyone here knows that my patience is limiting. Where is he? With so much time wasted on you, I'll give you three seconds. Three!" Wei WuHui added.
Jin ZiXun looked like he will going to resist but the moment when his eyes saw Jin GuangShan's face. He felt his heart dropping in fear.
"Two!"
And with that, Jin ZiXun finally snapped. "Fine! Fine! It's just a few Wen-Dogs. Take them if you want to. I'm not fooling around with you any longer! Go find them at Qiongqi Path on your own!"
The subtle crimson glow in her eyes then faded away as she then chuckled and gave him a cold smile. "Now was that too hard?" She mocked and then spun around with her dark robes fluttering around her like a smoke of darkness as she disappeared so quickly, just like how she appeared in the Hall.
Without hesitation, Lan XiChen grabbed his sword.
"Xiongzhang-." Lan WangJi tried to stop his older brother but the look on the other's face stopped him in mid-sentence.
"I'm sorry, WangJi. I have to." Lan XiChen gave one last pleading look to him before he rushed out of the Glamour Hall with the only the thoughts of his beloved racing in his mind.
'A-Yang...'
