"Hmph, that damn A-Qiao! She doesn't know how to quit, does she?" Wei WuHui scowled as she sat nonchalantly on one of Magnolia's branches as she swings her legs while staring up at the quiet night sky. Feeling the soft breeze brushing against her skin. Her mood brooding as she recalls where her sworn sister's persistence in trying to get answers about her's and Lan XiChen's relationship.

"Isn't that a bit too high to be sitting there, WuHui?"

The sudden voice startled the life out of the maiden as she somewhat loses her balance but managed to regain it by holding onto the tree's trunk. Wei WuHui looked down and saw that it was Lan XiChen, her usual midnight companion down below as he stared back at her with his soft brown eyes.

"Would you stop that, ZeWu-Jun? This is the third time you did that act." Wei WuHui frowned lightly.

Lan XiChen chuckled. "My apologies, WuHui but didn't I told you that you can call me XiChen?" Then a playful grin appeared on his face. "Or even better, Huan-Gege?"

Wei WuHui gave a weirded-out look to the latter as bright redness creeps up her face. "Y-You!" She exclaimed before flusteredly throwing one of her shoes at the male.

Skilfully, Lan XiChen caught the shoe as he began walking closer to her. "Now, now, WuHui. It is impolite to throw things at someone. Furthermore, It's very cold tonight, you have to keep yourself warm." He then gently grab Wei WuHui's barefoot and put her shoe back on.

Meanwhile, Wei WuHui admired the jade-like facial structure of the male's, still awestruck by the sheer beauty of his's and couldn't help but wonder how she managed to get his attention. The light brown eyes always make her feel drawn to, catching the hints of gold mix in the colours as she admired them.

After finishing, Lan XiChen looked up and saw that the latter was staring at him with sparkling eyes, almost shiny due to the moonlight illuminating the orbs. He stares at the pale skin, her cute little nose before tracing down to her pink, plump lip that makes his heart beats faster.

Like in a dream-like trance, both of them felt their bodies slowly leaning toward each other, their eyes staring into one another with deep emotions as their faces drew closer and closer, to the point that they felt each other's breathing.

'This...this feels so...right' Wei WuHui's eyes softened before closing them, waiting for the awaited touch.

"Stop right there!"

Then, it all suddenly came crashing down like shattered glass as the pair's eyes widened and they quickly pulled away from each other's presence and turned to the source and saw Lan QiRen standing there with an angered look.

"S-Shūfù...?" Lan XiChen muttered out of shock.

"Lan-Shīfu." Wei WuHui stated nervously as she landed on the ground, instantly saluting the elder.

"Wei WuHui, tell me. What rules did you break tonight?" Lan QiRen asked as he walked toward the pair. Waves of Disappointment and anger held above him.

Wei WuHui gulped, letting her gaze lowered to the ground. "Do not go out at night, do not go to the male disciples' quarters..."

"And Do not commit acts of promiscuity." Lan QiRen added.

"Shufu, we weren't doing that! We were just..." Lan XiChen immediately stepped in before trailing off of his sentence.

"You two know that it is against the rule for female cultivators and male cultivators to interact, especially this late at night." Lan QiRen scolded, his stern eyes narrowing at them. "I would never expect this from you, XiChen."

Wei WuHui, seeing how the Lan QiRen was coming on Lan XiChen, didn't hesitate to step in front of the male and saluted to them, bowing deeply. "Lan-Shifu, it was not ZeWu-Jun's fault. It was I who went against the rules, I was the first one to go out at night, I was the first one to play music at night and I was the one who kept repeating these actions. ZeWu-Jun has nothing to do with this."

"WuHui..." Lan XiChen whispered.

"Music? So, it was you who was playing those songs." Lan QiRen stated.

Wei WuHui nodded.

"No, I too was at fault." Lan XiChen then stepped forward and bowed deeply to his uncle. "I didn't discipline Wei Gu-Niang for repeating her actions but instead, I allowed it. It was my incompetence."

"ZeWu-Jun, don't be ridiculous!" Wei WuHui hissed as she tried to force the male to stand straight. "Lan-Shifu, don't listen to him. I was the blame."

Lan QiRen then let out an exasperated sigh, rubbing his temples. "Enough. Both of you. We will decide what your punishments will be in the morning, now you two go back to your chambers." He explained before casting one last disappointed look before walking away. Leaving the pair behind in awkward silence.

"WuHui-."

"Why did you say that it was your fault?" Wei WuHui cut Lan XiChen off as she turned to him with narrowed eyes. "You know that it was me who started all of this. Why trouble yourself and take the blame?"

Lan XiChen frowned. "Even so, I was the one who didn't stop it. I didn't tell you to stop."

The two stared at each other for a minute before Wei WuHui sighed as she looked away from his gaze and turned around. "I-I'm going back to my room. Goodnight ZeWu-Jun." And with that said, she began walking.

Lan XiChen was left standing there as he stared after the female cultivator. Watching her back eventually fades out of sight before he looked down with a conflicted expression, slowly placing his hand on his chest where he felt his racing heartbeat. His mind going back to that moment.

'If Shufu haven't found us, we would've...' He then gasped and covered his face as his face warmed up.

Meanwhile, Wei WuHui stopped around the corner and leaned against the wall as she held her flustered face, her eyes glistening as her mind recalls what was going to happen before Lan QiRen's intervention. 'W-We were actually going to kiss! A KISS!'
