The sound of Xiao playing woke the sleeping beauty from her slumber as the soft melody soothe her ears. Sunlight through the cracks of the window shone on her face as her eyes squinted from the sudden brightness, causing her to let out a soft groan.

"A-Yang!" A gasp erupted in the room as a familiar face popped into her viewpoint. Brown-gold eyes staring at her with relief.

"L-Lan Huan?" Wei WuHui croaked dryly, beginning to sit up when she felt a gentle hand on her back as Lan XiChen supported her.

"Be careful, your body is still recovering from the poison." Lan XiChen frowned worriedly before walking away to pour water for her.

Nodding in thank, Wei WuHui happily sipped down the cool liquid. Relaxing after she felt her throat relieving from the dryness. She then looked up at the latter. "What happen after the tournament?"

"After it ended in a draw, you were immediately looked after by the healers but due to unknown components in the poison, that Wen-Gu Niang refused to list, we were unable to find an antidote for you." Lan XiChen began. "Then, it was decided that Gusu Lan would take you in to heal you through our musical cultivation. It's been almost a month since you was in a coma."

Wei WuHui's eyes widened in disbelief. "A month? Coma?!" She exclaimed.

Lan XiChen nodded before he paused for a moment. A hesitant expression appeared across his face before his hand reached over and briefly made contact with Wei WuHui's.

The latter jumped a bit upon contact before she watched as her hand was clasped tenderly. Wei WuHui looked up quizzically.

"I was worried...I thought you wouldn't wake up." Lan XiChen whispered, the female cultivator felt the slight tremble from his hand.

Wei WuHui's brows furrowed. 'He was scared...I made him scared' she thought before moving her hand so their hands were connected warmly.

"Thank you, Lan Huan...for worrying for me." Wei WuHui smiled gratefully at the latter.

Lan XiChen felt his heart skipped a beat at another bright smile that Wei WuHui sent to him before his eyes trailed down to their clasped hands, staring at them with adoration.

———

Wei WuHui sighed blissfully once she changed out of her plain white robes and into a similar one that she usually wore, except it has more black than the grey. "Didn't know Gusu Lan would have this kind of clothes stored." She commented.

"It was from your brother. He would occasionally comes here to check up on you as well as catching up with Dada." Lan ChunTao chuckled from the table as Wei WuHui came around the dressing screen.

"Typically Gege," Wei WuHui sighed upon hearing the second part. "But I'm surprised Lan-Shifu gave him permission to come here." Wei WuHui asked.

"Of course Shufu did. Who would forbid a brother from seeing his own sister? He's not that strict." Lan ChunTao retorted lightly.

Wei WuHui rolled her eyes jokingly before taking a sip from her tea when suddenly, the two female cultivators heard the faint sound of blade clashing outside.

"There's sword training classes at nighttime?" Wei WuHui raised a brow as she and Lan ChunTao rises from their seats tensely.

The latter's eyes narrowed. "Do not work after 9pm." She recited.

Then, the doors flies opened as a Lan disciple came crashing through. The barks from the door scattered everywhere.

The females rushed to the fallen disciple, Lan ChunTao put a finger on his wrist before letting out a sigh. "He's alive but his spiritual energy is muddled."

"T-The Cloud R-Recesses—." The disciple croaked as his weak eyes stared up at the maidens. "L-Lan Gu-Niang, you must g-get to safety." And with that, he fell unconscious.

Wei WuHui grabbed his sword as WúJí was back at Lotus Pier before she and Lan ChunTao ran outside, coming to the dreadful sight of the fiery flames consuming the once serene Cloud Recesses as the white and red sun robes of the Wen fought against the Lan's white and blue.

"The Wen, predictable." Wei WuHui sneered angrily.

"We have to find XiongZhang, he's the Sect Heir. He needs to escape." Lan ChunTao pointed it out.

Loud footsteps that came from the left of the maidens' as they inches closer and closer to their location.

Wei WuHui's eyes narrowed as she clutched onto the sword tighter. "You get to him and your family first, Dajie. I'll cover your back." She suggested.

"But you just regain consciousness, your body might still be healing." Lan ChunTao frowned worriedly.

"I feel fine right now, as long as I can fight then I'll push my body," Wei WuHui replied, just as the view of the Wen cultivators came running around the corner and caught sight of them.  She then turned her head back to her sworn sister and gave her a grin. "Go, Dajie. I'll come back to you, trust me."

Lan ChunTao purses her lip, still hesitant on the options but resigned as she gave one last glance to Wei WuHui before running off to find her family.

Wei WuHui glared at the incoming Wen in front of her, noting that there were only five of them as their blades shone with blood.

And without further ado, Wei WuHui charged forward with her sword raised high as she rushed past the first couple of Wen before mercilessly slashing the last Wen in the throat with his blood spraying out like a stream and his gurgled gasp being the last thing he mutter before succumbing to the fatal wound.

With the first blood spill, Wei WuHui didn't even pause for a second before she dispatched the remaining ones, stabbing them in the chest or slashing their throat. Through all that, not a single blood stained her clothes as she glared down at the lifeless bodies.

'What are they trying at to launch an attack on Cloud Recesses?' Wei WuHui turned around and began heading in the direction where majority of the battle originate. She clenched her jaw. "Fucking hell..."
