It was the early morning in Chongyang, one of the rebellion's hideouts, that housed the newly recruited Jiang cultivators as they trained greatly under the eyes of their Sect Leader's.

"Sect Leader," Jiang Cheng's deputy spoke. "Wen Chao has recently increased his troops, searching for our whereabouts."

Jiang Cheng's eyes narrowed. "What about Chongyang?"

"There are no suspicious signs now. However, these are all newly enrolled cultivators. Once the damned Wens attacks, I'm afraid we can't resist them."

Jiang Cheng clenched his hands tightly, his emotions boiling as he listened to his deputy. However, the sound of footsteps eased his attention as he turned and was surprised to see Lan XiChen and Lan WangJi.

"Sect Leader Lan." Jiang Cheng saluted to the other sect leader as Lan XiChen smiled and returned the salute. "Not to be rude but, what brings you here in Chongyang?"

"I was informed by both WangJi and ChunTao about a particular finding that you three has came across a couple of nights ago." Lan XiChen explained and Lan WangJi stepped forward to present the talisman that he took from the massacre. "ChunTao willingly took my place for the upcoming battle in Qinghe while I come here with WangJi to discuss about the matter."

Jiang Cheng took the talisman for a closer examination. "Lan Er-Gongzi, I see that you find this talisman quite questionable. But isn't this just an Exorcism Talisman? What could possibly be wrong?"

However, once he ask that, Jiang Cheng's eyes widened when he spotted something and gasped. "This talisman...seems to be drawn with more strokes than usual."

Lan WangJi nodded grimly. "4 strokes more. Drawn with human blood."

"Human blood? Talismans are usually drawn with cinnabar. I've never heard of any that was drawn with human blood." Jiang Cheng inquired.

Lan XiChen hummed in agreement as he was handed the talisman by Jiang Cheng. His soft honey eyes gazing at the piece of paper. "This method of drawing is so sinister. The effect of this talisman may be quite different from exorcism." He stated.

"Exactly." Lan WangJi spoke as he glared at the talisman. "This talisman was completely reversed."

"Reversion? What is this reversion?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"Usual talismans exorcise. This talisman summons evil." Lan WangJi replied.

"A talisman...that can summon evil?!" Jiang Cheng exclaimed. "Absolutely unheard of."

"You are right. But WangJi have tested many times," Lan XiChen said. "It does have the ability to lure spirits and garner resentful energy."

"Which means that the sinister phenomena at damned Wen's Supervisory Offices, has something to do with this talisman." Jiang Cheng concluded.

"I've seen it in 2 times on-scene. The brush strokes added on the talisman reveal that it was drawn by the same person." Lan WangJi stated.

"But among all the famed cultivators, I've never heard of anyone who could do that." Jiang Cheng inputted.

"This making of this talisman is so sinister. Among the cultivation sects, WangJi and I've never seen anything like it." Lan XiChen said before he and his brother began making their leave.

"Sinister?" Then, they heard Jiang Cheng scoffed behind them. "What could be more sinister than damned Wens? As long as he can kill damned Wens, who cares if he's a heretic or a demon?!"

"Sect Leader Jiang..." Lan XiChen muttered worriedly at the young leader while Lan WangJi frowned in displeasure.

"There is one more thing, the first of the Wens' Supervisory Offices was attacked completely different from the other two. Every Wen was killed by a skilful swordsman. Who could these people be and what do they want?" Lan XiChen added thoughtfully.

However, that discussion seem to be put on hold as a Lan disciple arrived and saluted to the three men. "Sect Leader Lan, Lan Er-Gongzi, Sect Leader Jiang. The Young Lady of Yunmeng Jiang Sect has been escorted back from Shuchuan."

"A-Jie? Where is she?!"

———

All trees rushed past his vision as he ran up the mountaintop just outside of the hideout with the goal of seeing his beloved sister after going without for three or so months. Especially when the time of war was approaching fast.

Not long after, he finally reached to the top where three figures stood under the shade of a tree.

It was his sister, Jiang YanLi. And standing beside her, talking to her, were Nie MingJian and sitting on her shoulders was his sect's sixth shidi, the one who managed to escape with the help of Lan ChunTao and Wei WuHui.

"Send my gratitude to Lan Gu-Niang for keeping our sixth Shidi safe throughout these difficult times." Jiang YanLi smiled, saluting to the other maiden which caused her to become flustered as Nie MingJian scratched her cheek while looking away from Jiang YanLi's smile.

"S-Sure, I'll do that."

Jiang YanLi giggled at the flustered maiden.

"A-Jie..."

However, with that single word, the maiden in pink and purple robes felt a hand touching hers and as she moved to turn, a body in purple collided with her in a tight embrace. Her eyes widened out of surprise as she recognised the sound and scent of her brother. "A-Cheng!"

Nie MingJian looked at the sibling with a smile before gesturing to the teary Shidi as they walked a bit further away to give the sibling some privacy.

Jiang YanLi can feel the tremors from Jiang Cheng's body as her eyes began to tear up and she reached up to stroke her brother's head gently. "As long as you're safe and well."

Jiang Cheng sniffled for a moment before stepping back as he wiped away the tears before he pulled out the still bloodied headpiece and bell of their late parents.

Jiang YanLi gasped, covering her mouth as she was brought to tears again at the items that were once their parents' before she shakily reached out with her hands and touched the headpiece while tears rapidly fall down.

"Lotus Pier. I will certainly be back! The revenge for our parents' death. I'll make damned Wens repay a hundredfold." Jiang Cheng vowed angrily.

Jiang YanLi sniffled, cupping her brother's cheek gently. "A-Cheng. You've grown up. Our parents will be glad to know that."

Jiang Cheng smiled warmly at her words.

"How's A-Xian? Any news of him?" She then asked.

Jiang Cheng frowned, lowering his head as he shook.

His sister's eyes widened solemnly.

"Since I went down the mountain that day. I never saw him again. I looked for him at foot of the mountain for a few days. I was worried of him being caught by damn Wens and searched for him in the Supervisory Office in Yiling. But still found no trace of him." Jiang Cheng explained as he glared at the ground harshly, clenching his hands. "Could he..."

"Stop making wild guesses," However his sister stepped forward to grabbed his hand worriedly. "A-Xian will be alright."

Jiang Cheng, still a bit hesitant, nodded.

"But...about A-Hui...is she really dead?" Jiang YanLi asked hesitantly. Remembering her heart breaking upon hearing the news of both her parents and her beloved sister meeting their ends when the Wens massacred the Lotus Pier.

Jiang Cheng paused for a moment, recalling the memory of one of Wei WuHui's last words to him before they separated.

"Jiang Cheng, remember. Everyone thinks I am dead. That I've died during the night of Lotus Pier's downfall. Only you, Gege, Wen Qing and Wen Ning knows the truth and it must stay like that."

"B-But why?"

"Just in case...everything will go more smoothly if I remained dead to the world."

Respecting the latter's wishes, Jiang Cheng looked at his sister with a heavy heart and nodded solemnly. "Yes...Wei WuHui has passed along with our parents."

Jiang YanLi simply closed her eyes, tears slipping past as she grieved the passings of her family.

However, an intruder watched them from a nearby cliff as a Wen disciple pulled the bushes away to reveal the siblings, Nie MingJian and Sixth Shidi.

"Jingchu has been thoroughly searched, except for the region around Chongyang. Can't believe these rebels are really hiding here." The Wen disciple smirked before straightening himself up. "I must inform the Er-Gongzi immediately!"

Suddenly, just as he was about to leave, an arrow came flying which startled him enough to falter as his eyes looked up, seeing a disciple in Jiang Sect robes swinging his sword down on. The Wen disciple backed away, narrowly missing the sharp blade before making the run for it as a Lan disciple joined the battle.

Unfortunately, he didn't notice a third one and he felt immense pain as the second Jiang disciple stabbed him in the chest. Immediately killing him.

"You wanna tip off?" The Jiang disciple scowled.

But it was too late as the Wen disciple had pulled the flare right before he died.

"Oh no!"

Just as the flare flew up into the sky and burst into the Wen Sect motif.

Alerting everyone in the hideout as they all stared up at the red motif in shock.

"It can't be..." Lan XiChen gasped as he and his brother stared up at the motif in disbelief. "This soon?"

"Nie Gu-Niang, take A-Jie and Sixth Shidi with you to safety!" Jiang Cheng stated as the Nie maiden came running to them with the young disciple in her arms.

Nie MingJian nodded firmly. "Will do."

"A-Cheng, be careful...please." Jiang YanLi pleaded as she sent her brother one last worrying gaze.

Jiang Cheng nodded. "I will come back. I promise." And with that said, he then ran back to the hideout to prepare for the bloodshed that will soon be coming.

Meanwhile, in another Wens' Supervisory Office, rest Wen Chao and his croons.

"Just a few defectors and remnants still can't be found after so long!" Wen Chao huffed the moment he sat down at the table while Wang LingJiao went and pour his tea. "Wen Xu was so useless that he was beheaded by Nie MingJue. He brought shame to our Qishan Wen Sect!"

Then, Wen Chao noticed his teacup overflowing with the liquid and glared over to his mistress. "What's wrong with you stupid bitch?!"

This caused Wang LingJiao to come back to reality and creased her pouring as Wen Chao huffed, standing up to get away from the spilled tea. "Bitch, what are you doing?!"

"Wen Er-Gongzi, you know, those strange happenings at the Supervisory Offices. Those corpses...I wonder if Wei WuHui didn't die and now she came...here for revenge?!" Wang LingJiao exclaimed shakily as she held onto Wen Chao's sleeve, her whole body trembling in fear.

"I've said that Wei WuHui cannot get out of the Burial Mounds alive! And you're still yelling about such nonsense?!" Wen Chao scoffed, pushing Wang LingJiao away.

"Is there any chance that she...turned into a vicious ghost after she died?" Wang LingJiao questioned, Wei WuHui's words replaying in her head.

"After I'm dead, I'll definitely turn into a vicious ghost! I'll make sure that you damned Wens will never be at peace!"

Wen Chao scoffed. "That's even more absurd! Those who died in the Burial Mounds, their souls will be trapped there forever with no hope of getting out!"

"B-But..." Wang LingJiao stammered shakily.

"Enough!" But Wen Chao cut her off, already tired of her babbling. "Even if she came back as a vicious ghost, she will not get past so many Exorcism Talismans." He then pointed at all the yellow talismans pasted on every inch of the room.

Wang LingJiao stumbled back, still not convinced by Wen Chao as she nervously looked around. That was until a strong gush of wind came flying in, causing the windows to fly opened.

This startled the maiden as she let out a fearful scream and ran to hide behind Wen Chao. "What is that sound?"

"Bitch, what are you doing? That's just the sound of wind!" Wen Chao shouted in utter annoyance before pushing her away, causing Wang LingJiao to fall. "Can't you friggin stop being hysterical? Such an annoyance!"

Then, a Wen disciple walked into the room. "Wen-Gongzi, we've located the rebels!"

"Where?" Wen Chao asked, diverting his attention to the news. "Kill them right now! Spare no one!"

———

Back in Chongyang, the rebellion began to readied themselves for the mighty battle that was going to happen soon as both Jiang and Lan disciples run around.

"Pass my order! All the elderly, children and women. Retreat to the back mountain now!" Jiang Cheng ordered as he watched his disciples.

"Sect Leader. Wens' sword formation was found in the northwest frontier!" A disciple reported.

Jiang Cheng scowled. "Bastard! They came so fast!"

And as he said that, waves of white and red robes arrived on their sword in the air.

"Shoot!" And with that, the first move was made as arrows were fired.

Lan WangJi took out his Guqin and strummed a strong timbre that reflected the arrows away from them.

Meanwhile, his older brother Lan XiChen stood beside him as his eyes glared up at the Wens. "Formation!"

And upon his command, their Lan disciples began putting up blue arrays as to reinforce their shield.

In turn, the Wens did the same as they put up their own arrays to attack the Lans'. Trying to get rid of the rebellion's protection.

"Charge!" Jiang Cheng commanded Zidian into its whip form, emitting violet sparks flying in the air as he and his disciples charged at their enemies.

———

It was already nighttime in the Wens' Supervisory Office where Wang LingJiao was still staying at after her master and his bodyguard left for the battle of Chongyang. Leaving her behind in the eerie quietness of their room.

Wang LingJiao whimpered, hugging her pillow even tighter as she sat, curled up on her bed. Cold sweats forming on her face. "W-Wei WuHui...Wei Yang. It's Wen Chao who pushed you down. Not me. Not..." she pleaded but it was cut short when a gush of wind blew out the candles.

Suddenly, Wang LingJiao felt a freezing cold sensation touched her hand and her breath hitched as she shakily looked down, catching the sight of a small child's hand and realised that the pillow that she was supposed to be holding, was replaced by a ghostly-looking child.

She let out a scream and threw it away from her. "Help! Somebody help!" As she ran toward the doors. "Take me away right now! I don't wanna stay here any longer! Take me away!"

Wang LingJiao slammed open the doors and saw two Wen disciples standing in front of the doors with their backs turned toward her. "Why are you just standing here? Get me out of here! Now!" And as she went to touch one of them, she watched as he simply fell over like a corpse.

Wang LingJiao gasped before turning to the other disciple and saw his lifeless form that were still standing.

Both Wens were dead.

Suddenly, a piercing flute melody echoed in the air.

"Flute music...where did the flute music come from?!" Wang LingJiao exclaimed.

As the song continued playing, the two bodies of the Wens began twitching. Almost like they were still alive as the one on the floor began getting up as they turned to Wang LingJiao with their faces now deadly pale and their eyes completely white. They began walking toward the maiden, snarling softly.

Wang LingJiao stumbled backward but then tripped herself when trying to get back into the room. "No...stay away from me!" She whimpered as she crawled back.

The sound of crows cawing from the outside.

Then, all the talismans began glowing in an ominous red as the windows flies opened with strong wings coming into the room and causing the talismans to fly everywhere.

Wang LingJiao screamed as she rushed to get up and started running for her life. "Wei Yang! I didn't push you down! If you want revenge, go find Wen Chao! Don't take revenge on me! Not me!" But as she continue her pleas, couple of the talismans began sticking to her face and throat as more and more began gluing themselves on her body. She tried to pull them off but it was useless as Wang LingJiao collapsed to the floor while the two walking corpses advanced closer toward her.

Wang LingJiao glanced toward them in utter fear as they soon stood over her before lunging at her. Began digging into her flesh and tearing her apart.

She scream and scream and scream while feeling her body being ripped apart and her own blood splattering around her. She then cried and cried until her voice began to died down.

Meanwhile, standing on the rooftop from the opposite side of what just occurred, a figure in dark robes with their pure white strands flowing with the wind as their eyes glared coldly at the carnage that they've made before disappearing into the
