"What is a sound wave?" Dax asked from his spot on the bed. Brett was at the top of the bed, and their legs were tangled together.
"A pressure that is transmitted through matter?" Brett guessed as he rubbed his eyes.
"That's right," Dax smiled as he pecked Brett's lips.
"I think I deserve a study break," Brett smirked with a raised brow as he held Dax close.
Dax smiled as he slowly leaned in, "You have been getting things right," Dax and Brett were about to kiss when the doorbell rang. Dax threw his head back with a groan, "Study while I go make someone go away," Dax pointed to the books on his bed as he walked out of his room.
He slid down the railing of the stairs and landed at the door. Dax pulled the door open to reveal a very upset-looking Liam.
"He won't let me help," Liam said quietly, "He hates me."
"Scott doesn't hate you, you little runt. Come here," Dax said as he pulled Liam inside. He hugged the boy briefly, "Have you eaten anything?" Liam shook his head. Dax led Liam into the kitchen and he began heating some leftovers up in the microwave, "Now explain while we wait on my microwave."
"I went to him. I told him about the chimeras but he already knew... The only part he didn't know was that Hayden was with them... Then I asked him how I could help and he told me to do nothing."
"Well, this isn't exactly home," Dax commented as he handed Liam the food, "But I'm glad you came over here."
"So much for getting rid of..." Brett trailed off as he came down the stairs.
"Do you live here?" Liam asked in disbelief.
"No," Brett answered, "I came down here to tell you I had to go back home. Satomi put in a curfew."
"You going to pass your test?"
"I think so," Brett nodded. Brett kissed Dax's cheek, "Goodbye."
"See you tomorrow?" Dax asked.
"See you then," Brett confirmed before leaving the house.
"Are you sure he doesn't live here?" Liam asked as he took a bite of the spaghetti.
"Yes, Liam. I'm sure."

"Tell me I'm a horrible person," Mason said as he fell back onto Dax's couch.
"Don't most people usually want to hear the opposite?" Brett asked as he put the pizza on the coffee table.
"Mason isn't most people," Dax responded as he turned on Netflix, "And you're not a horrible person, Mason."
"Yes, I am," Mason said as he ate a piece of pizza.
"Why does he think he's a horrible person?" Brett asked as he sat next to Dax with a piece of pizza.
"First, he had a nice time on his date with Corey," Dax began to list.
"So horrible," Brett said sarcastically as he looked at Mason with wide eyes.
"Then, he made out with Corey in the locker room."
"I can't believe he would do that," Brett said out of fake disgust.
"And then he agreed to go on another date with Corey after kissing him."
"How dare he," Brett sighed as he shook his head.
"You guys suck," Mason complained as he threw his head back.
"Our point is that you should go out with him if he makes you happy," Dax sighed as he began to eyeball the pizza. Brett glared at Dax once he noticed him looking at the pizza.
"Liam's going to kill me," Mason said.
"Liam's still in love with Hayden," Dax said as he looked over to Mason, "What's the difference?"
"Look, if you like him go for it, if you don't, don't," Brett shrugged.
"He definitely likes him," Dax said as he reached for a slice of pizza.
Brett pulled Dax back onto the couch and away from the pizza before he could get a slice, "You said you weren't going to eat any."
"That was before it was sitting right in front of me."
"One piece," Brett rolled his eyes. Dax smiled up at him and lunged for the pizza.
"Next time we'll just have to order enough for him to pig out too," Mason laughed.
"What were we going to watch again?"

"What do you miss the most about being human?" Brett asked. They were sitting on the trampoline in Brett's backyard. Dax's head was in Brett's lap. Brett was playing with Dax's hair. Lori was upstairs, but other than that they were alone.
"I never really was human," Dax smiled as Brett groaned.
"You know what I mean, smartass," Brett rolled his eyes.
Dax stayed quiet for a moment as he thought about it, "Having a future."
"What do you mean?" Brett asked as he rolled over.
"I'm sixteen. Forever," Dax shrugged a bit as he looked up at Brett, "I always knew I wouldn't get to grow old, but I had hoped I could have kids first."
"I'm sorry," Brett frowned a bit as he traced Dax's bone structure in his face with his index finger.
"I figure if I can't have my own kids, I can open a place like SS and actually prepare kids and baby vamps for the supernatural world. Maybe then we'll end up with fewer people like Peter Hale," Dax said. Brett smiled down at him.
"That's beautiful."

"I don't think they are evil," Dax said as he walked into the library. Mason and Liam were sat at one of the tables, "I have a theory."
"Want to elaborate?" Mason sighed.
"It's very rare to see in vampires, but some of them develop sire bonds to the people that turned them and they will do anything to please them," Dax explained quietly, "All hybrids have a sire bond because they feel indebted to the one that turned them because they no longer have to transform on the full moon. Basically, they'll do anything to please their master whether they want to or not."
"I don't see any hybrids in Beacon Hills," Liam gave Dax a confused look.
"No," Dax sighed, "What if the chimeras feel indebted to Theo because he brought them back?"
"That's actually genius," Mason muttered.
"I try," Dax bowed before taking a seat at the table.
"How do vampires break the sire bond?" Liam asked.
"I don't know if they can... but I know hybrids can," Dax said, "Once a hybrid stops feeling pain every time they transition, they no longer are bound."
"How does that help us with chimeras?" Liam asked.
"I think they need to see for themselves that Theo's protection isn't any better than ours. Meaning telling them won't work," Dax said as gave Liam a pointed look.
"What?"
"Don't tell Hayden. You could end up pushing her away," Dax said, "And I might be completely wrong so keep that in mind too."

"How many bodies did they find?" Dax asked as he looked at the deputies who were walking through the school with guns.
"Twenty-three," Scott said as they headed towards Stiles.
"Damn, cause of death?" Dax sighed and shut his mouth when they came close to the cop.
"Don't you guys think this is a bit much in terms of firepower for a high school?" Stiles said to a blonde deputy Dax had seen a few times before.
"Your dad's the one that issued us these things, and he... he wouldn't officially say why," The blonde deputy said as he gestured to the firearm in his hands.
"Did he say anything unofficially?" Scott asked.
"No, but everyone's got a theory," He said as he looked at Stiles.
"What's yours?" Dax asked.
"I shouldn't be talking to you guys. Don't you have class?" The deputy sighed.
"Free period," Dax lied.
"Come on, Straus, what's your theory?" Stiles asked.
He looked back at two other deputies before looking at Stiles, "Do you guys believe in the supernatural?"
Dax looked over to Stiles and Scott with an annoyed expression.

"What the hell are you doing in here?" Dax asked with wide eyes as Malia marched over to them. He was shirtless, but unlike a guy not that far away he had pants on.
"I need you to tell Scott something for me," Malia said as she looked at Liam.
"Uh, why us?" Liam asked. Dax gave her a skeptical look.
"Because I can't right now," Malia responded.
"That's not sketchy at all," Dax sighed.
"Are you gonna do it or not?" Malia asked.
"He's not really talking to me," Liam said as he shifted on his feet, "But Dax, he loves Dax right now."
"No, he doesn't," Dax shook his head.
"What'd you do?" Liam sighed as he gave Dax an exasperated look.
"Remember? Murderous history?" Dax said lowly. The bell rang. Dax pulled on his shirt,
"Just tell him he was right about the tunnels. Just tell him that," Malia said.
"What do you mean?" Liam asked.
"What the hell Malia that place is like a maze. What are we supposed to do with 'he was right about the tunnels'?" Dax mocked Malia.
Malia growled at him, "We were a lot closer than we thought. There is an operating theatre down there. Down in the tunnels."
"How do you know?" Liam asked.
"Mostly by scent. Just tell him okay? Tell Scott he was right," Liam nodded as Malia walked away.
Once Malia was out of the locker room Dax spoke up, "She is definitely up to something."
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"Why are we doing this?" Dax muttered as they made their way through the tunnels, "I swear we ran circles around this place. There's nothing down here."
"Malia seemed pretty sure of herself," Liam said as they walked through the tunnels. Liam's phone buzzed, and Dax being the nosy person he was leaned over Liam's shoulder to read it.
"You going to go?" Dax asked as he nodded towards Liam's phone.
Liam glared at him and put his phone in his pocket. The two boys looked ahead of them to see a familiar-looking tunnel. Dax cursed under his breath as they continued walking.
"You lost?" Scott asked from a corridor.
"Completely," Liam said at the same time Dax said, "Totally."
"How'd you know we were down here?" Liam asked as Scott stepped closer to them.
"I followed you," Scott answered honestly.
"Why are you following us?" Liam asked.
"Why are you down here?" Scott returned.
"Field trip obviously," Dax responded.
"I'm trying to figure out if this is where they took us," Liam answered, "Me and Hayden. Malia said that she was down here too that the scent was the same."
"She said you were right," Dax added in.
"There's a turn you guys keep passing. It's easy to miss," Scott said as he pointed back to the way they came from.
"How many times did you watch us pass it?" Dax asked.
"Five," Liam nodded. Scott walked past them, "Come on, let's see if we can find it together."
"Do you feel that?" Scott asked as they rounded the corner.
"It's like someone is vibrating," Liam responded.
"Well, we're in the right place," Dax sighed.
"I can't tell where it's coming from," Scott said as he looked down at his hands. Liam kneeled to the ground and placed his hand on the floor.
"It's coming from everywhere," Liam said as he looked up at Dax and Scott. Liam sighed and looked down at his hand, "I was just trying to do something right."
"You do a lot of right," Scott assured him.
"Yeah, but I did one thing really wrong."
"Hayden's alive. Everything before that doesn't matter," Scott said.
"It should," Liam sighed as he struggled to find the words, "I feel like I have to do more than just say sorry."
Dax couldn't help his small laugh, "You still haven't done that," Scott said with an amused smirk.
"To either of us," Dax added in.
"Back at my old school... at Devenford... I got into a fight with this kid. I knocked two of his teeth out. They made me write a letter of apology. We both knew it meant nothing. We both knew that sooner or later, we were gonna get into another fight," Liam said from his spot on the ground, "I can't just say I'm sorry. I feel like I have to do something. Like maybe somehow, I have to save your lives."
"You didn't go near my heart. No harm, no foul," Dax said as he pulled Liam off of the ground.
Scott spoke up, "Don't worry. I'm pretty sure you'll get a chance."
"Well, not down here. We've been walking around for hours, and all we've been able to find is some stupid snake sculpture on the wall," Liam pointed to it. Dax and Scott slowly walked over to it to get a better look, "You think it's important?"
Neither answered as Scott dusted off the cobwebs. Dax slowly grabbed the sides of the snake and turned it like a wheel. Dax looked to Scott and Liam wide-eyed before turning it more. He continued to turn it until it wouldn't anymore. Liam noticed it first. It revealed a door.
Scott pulled open the door and the two sophomores followed him only to have a gun put in their face. Dax flicked his wrist but nothing happened. argent lowered his gun. Dax looked around confused as to why he couldn't use magic.
"You didn't," Scott mumbled as he stepped forward.
"I has to," Argent responded without meeting Scott in the eye. An old man walked out from behind a wall.
"Hello, Scott," He said as Scott's eyes lit up red, "I haven't seen that color on you. It suits you?"
"Who's the old white guy?" Dax asked not understanding.
"At the moment," He looked around, "They would call me a necessary evil, but you can call me Gerard."
Dax and Liam looked at each other and they both shrugged still not knowing who the man was, "What were you thinking?" Scott asked.
"That we need him," Argent responded.
"He's right. If you want to catch a werewolf like the Beast of GΓ©vaudan, you're going to need more than one Argent," Gerard said as he looked at Argent.
"I don't like him," Dax said as he looked Gerard up and down. Scott eyed Argent. Argent looked exhausted as he took a step closer to Scott and looked him in the eye.
"He knows all the stories. All the folklore. Everything written, and everything passed down," Argent said.
"Sorry to burst your bubble but I have a first-hand account of the Beast's creation," Dax said.
"I doubt that highly," Gerard said.
"Are sure about this?" Scott asked as he stepped closer to Argent.
"Take a look," Argent nodded in Gerard's direction.
Scott looked back to Dax and Liam before all three teenagers followed the Argents into another room, "The one on the right is the Beast of GΓ©vaudan. Do you know who the other one is?"
Scott shook his head, "The hell hound," Dax said as his face fell slightly.
"Seems someone might know their werewolf history," Gerard commented sounding somewhat impressed, "The guardian of supernatural places. They're both creatures of the night, but you may know them as ordinary people during the day."
"And most likely neither of them know what they are," Argent added. Liam and Scott exchanged unsure looks, "What is it?"
"We found a message in Latin," Scott said as he turned to Argent.
"Why didn't I know about this?" Dax sighed before grumbling, "I literally speak the dead language but no..."
"Damnatio memoriae," Scott said.
"Well that's can't be good," Dax muttered. The Argents exchanged shocked and concerned looks.
"They want it to remember itself," Gerard said.
"That might give us time," Argent nodded to himself a bit.
"Time for what?" Liam asked.
"To prevent this," Argent said before stepping forward. He began to kick the wall where the painting of the beast and the hellhound were. He kicked away the tiles and it revealed bloodied bones and corpses.
"Who are they?" Liam asked.
"Us. It's all of us," Scott said slightly freaked out.

Lydia's scream echoed through the streets. Dax fell to the ground unable to move. Liam caught his head just before it hit the ground.
"What's happening?" Liam asked.
"I think this is what happens to vampires when they hear a banshee scream," Dax gasped slightly.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"Oh, hey, she's back," Dax commented as the McCall pack gathered around Scott's dining table.
"It took you this long?" Stiles asked.
"I mean I haven't seen you," Dax shrugged.
"Let's focus on getting Lydia," Scott said.
"Can Brett help?" Dax asked.
"If he wants."
