"So this is what you spend all your time doing?" Liam asked cautiously as he stepped into the room. It was the room dax had turned into a witch-cave. Basically, a witch's version of a man-cave. There were open grimiores everywhere, unlit candles surrounded the room, nad there were a few loose pages of spells spread out on the floor.

"Most of it, yeah," Dax nodded, "You seem a lot more open to the idea than I thought you would have."

"It's felt like something was missing for a while, and you showed me stuff that made sense. It didn't make sense for Brett to have been in Mexico considering he hates my guts," Liam shrugged, "What's this?" Liam pointed to a spell pinned to the wall.

"My grandmother's memory alteration spell," Dax answered, "And that one is a memory wipe spell, but of course the woman had nothing on restoring memories. If she did, then at least I would know where to start," Dax sighed as he looked up to the spell.

There was a loud knock at the door and Liam and Dax shared a confused look, "You expecting someone?"

"No one knows I exist, remember?"

Dax and Liam cautiously made their way to Dax's front door. Dax waved for Liam to hide behind the wall. Liam glared at him, but listened. Dax cautiously opened the door only for it to be slammed open from his hand. Dax looked up wide eyed in time to dodge a magic blast.

"Veritas tempus," Hope incanted as she walked into the house.

"Tunc tempus," Dax responded, but it didn't work. Dax rolled his eyes, "Truth spell? Really?" Dax sighed as he crossed his arms.

"How do I know you? How did you defeat Malivore?" Hope demanded. Liam came out with a growl.

"Liam, calm down. She's not going to hurt either of us," Dax sighed.

"You wanna bet on that?" Hope tilted her head to the side as she arched one of her brows. Dax rolled his eyes and let out a soft sigh.

"I'm your cousin," Dax answered. Hope looked at him as if he had lost his mind, "You know I can't lie, and it's the only thing that makes sense."

"Well, if you are my cousin, how come you didn't come to me after you made it out of Malivore," Hope crossed her arms.

"Because you were happy, and you weren't being hunted," Dax answered, "And Aunt Freya's circle of witches would have made it an everyone thing."

"You wanted to get them back on small scale... why?" Hope asked.

Dax glared at her as he answered, "I miss my life but I was tired of hiding."

"Will someone fill me in here?" Liam sighed as he tossed his arms into the air.

"Hope, Liam. Liam, Hope."

"Do you have a way to get the memories back?" Hope asked.

"No," Dax answered, "It's been months and I can't come up with anything that would come close to working. I'm stumped- Would you remove your fucking truth spell already?" Dax huffed

"Tunc mention," Hope flicked her wrist.

"Thank you," Dax said with a half glare.

"So your Aunt Erika's kid?" Hope questioned.

"How'd you find me?"

"I remembered glimpses of you. It just took this long for me to hear California in one of those glimpses."

"Okay, well I'm going home. See you later, Dax," Liam sighed as he walked out.

"Let's get to working on this," Hope said. Dax lead her into the study

"What if it's not a memory spell?" Hope asked as she stared at the grimiore in her lap.

"What do you mean?" Dax asked as he looked up to her.

"We recently came across a purge spell at school. We used it on Lizzie to get an Oni out of her," Hope explained, "She's been acting weird ever since we used it on her... I think she remembers you."

Dax cringed, "She's probably the one person who didn't want to remember me."

"Why?"

"We dated... like four years ago... before I knew I was gay..."

Hope just stared at him for a moment before blinking herself back into reality and the problem they were dealing with, "I can go get the spell from Josie, and we can use it to get everyone's memories back."

"Think we can use it on an individual basis?"

"We did for Lizzie. It should work."

"Should I come with you?"

"I think that everyone else might find our situation a little less believable... I'm supposed to be the one and only freak of nature... I think they need to find out that's not the case on their own."

"What'd I miss?" Dax asked as he jogged up. Liam gave him a look but Dax waved him off. He knew that Liam wanted to know about Hope. Dax looked over to Lydia to see her staring at him again. Dax stared at her for a second before turning to Scott and Stiles.

"Oh, just that Tracy is a wolf, and nobody can find her," Stiles explained with his hands clasped together on the roof of Lydia's car.

"Okay, I know we're all tired and miserable..." Scott trailed off as he looked to his right, "Except for you," Mason was stood next to Scott and he seemed ecstatic to be there. Dax smiled a bit. He forgot how great Mason's optimism on the supernatural was.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Mason said with a big smile, "This is all just mind blowing... You're a kitsune. I don't even know what that is."

"I'm still learning," Kira responded.

"What are you?"

"It's complicated," Dax responded as he gave Mason a smirk.

"Liam, we said you could tell him, not invite him to the inner circle," Stiles sighed.

"I-I'm in the inner circle," Mason asked as he placed a hand on his chest.

"No!" Stiles and Liam said at the same time. Liam shook his head as Stiles flailed a bit.

"Is she alright?" Mason pointed to Lydia. She had a slightly dazed look.

"She's fine," Dax waved it off, "Being around me gives her the heebie-jeebies. She'll snap out of it in a minute."

"Guys, look back to Tracy. She's just one lone wolf. We can find her," Scott said as he took a step forward.

"One lone, serial killing wolf," Malia corrected.

"Nah, she only killed one person... the other two were... mauled," Stiles corrected. Mason blinked as he realized the depth of what was going on, "What do we do when we catch her?"

"I say we put her down," Malia said. Everyone looked around at each other without a word.

"Intense," Mason nodded.

"Guys, let's concentrate on catching her first. We'll figure out the rest later," Scott said.

"If I may interject," Dax started but received a nasty glare from Stiles and Liam, "I could do a locator spell... Just need something of hers, her blood, a hair, an object that meant something to her."

"Creepy... slightly creepy," Stiles muttered as he stared at Dax in disbelief.

"I can't get into her house though," Dax reminded.

"Fine we'll take you after school..." Liam sighed.

Dax heard scraping behind him and turned to see Tracy.Dax turned to Liam and the two had a conversation with their eyes. Dax nodded for Liam to go out in the hallway and Liam did so by asking to go to the bathroom.

It wasn't long before the fire alarm was pulled, "No rushing, please. I'm sure it's just a drill," Mr. Yukimura said. Hayden stared at Tracy as she stood up.

"I got it, Hayden," Dax nodded for her to leave. She did so, "You okay?" Dax asked as she looked past him. She reached out and grabbed Dax's arm. Dax could tell she was squeezing his arm, and breaking it as he looked down at her like she had lost it.

"Tracy," Scott said as he slowly walked closer to her, "Tracy."

Tracy stood up from her desk  and her claws dug into Dax's arm, but he was unfazed, mostly. It hurt but he had experienced worse and he didn't want to set the girl off and Hayden hadn't completely left the room. She seemed volatile and Dax was unsure of how to subdue her. Something about her scent was different and he wasn't sure if magic would work on her.

"Tracy, let go," Scott, Stiles and Liam eased closer to her while Scott tried to talk her down.

"They're coming," Tracy said as she released Dax, "They're coming for all of us," Tracy then passed out. Dax looked down in shock as mercury, or at least something that looked like mercury pooled out of her mouth.

"What the hell?" Dax whisper yelled.

"Come on, we need to get her out of here," Scott lifted her up from the ground and Mr. Yukimura supported her head as Dax and Liam were right behind them. Dax was about to follow after them when he heard Hayden speak up from behind him.

"She wasn't even supposed to be in our class," Hayden said as she stared at the door, "Where are they taking her?"

Liam hummed as he looked, "Hopsital," Dax answered for him.

"You need help getting to the nurse's office?" Hayden asked as she glanced down at Dax's arm which was covered in blood.

"I'll be fine," Dax assured her. Liam and Dax went down the hall and nearly collided with Lydia and Kira.

"They're taking her to the animal clinic?" Kira asked. Lydia seemed slightly dazed as she stared at Dax, but she was much more alert than earlier.

"Yeah, they're going to see if Deaton can figure out what's wrong with her," Liam answered.

"What's wrong with her is that she killed two people!" Lydia lowered her voice into a hushed whisper, "Her father and according to Parrish, her psychiatrist."

"Isn't there anyone else we can talk to?" Kira asked, "Does she still have her mom? Any family?" Liam zoned out.

"Alpha," Lydia said.

"You're not going to like this," Dax sighed as he looked at Liam.

"If she's a werewolf, she had an alpha, right?" Lydia reasoned, "Anyone knew if a new one's moved into Beacon Hills?"

"No, but there's an old one," Kira answered, "One of the oldest... We know her."

"And her pack," Liam sighed. Dax cringed as he thought about what they were about to do.

Dax, Liam, and Mason walked up in time to see Brett practicing without a shirt on. Dax felt a million emotions wash over him as he looked at the boy he fell in love. The one he never got to tell that he fell in love with.

Dax admired him from afar as he dodged his teammates and managed to make a shot. Brett took a deep breath as he swung his lacrosse stick around him and rested it on his neck, "So he's a werewolf too?" Mason asked. Dax turned to glare at him.

"Yep," Liam droned.

"This just gets better and better," Mason smiled.

"A taken one," Dax growled slightly before turning back to the field, "Not that he knows it," Dax grumbled slightly.

The boy's walked over to the gym bags together. Dax ended up leading them to Brett's bag, "Why over here?" Liam asked.

"That's his bag," Dax answered.

"How do you know that?" Liam asked.

"You don't remember," Dax answered with an awkward smile as Brett started walking their way. Liam glared at Dax with big eyes before turning to Brett, "You know this girl?" Liam showed Brett a picture on his phone.

Dax stared at the bleachers as he tried to keep his emotions in check. Seeing Brett was one thing, but being able to smell him was another. Dax was feeling a million emotions all at once and he was trying not to. It wouldn't be much longer before Hope got back, and he just needed to hold on until she could. He wasn't sure what he would do if her purge spell idea didn't work.

"Cute, never seen her," Brett nodded as he put his things in his bag.

"Could Satomi have turned her without you knowing? Liam asked.

"After the deadpool, Satomi's not exactly doing much recruiting," Brett answered. Liam's gaze fell to the picture on his phone.

"That's how it works? Alpha werewolves just go around biting people?" Mason asked.

"Not the responsible ones," Dax responded as he looked to Mason. His eyes continued to avoid Brett as he stared out at the field.

"Or you can be born like me and my sister. Satomi took us in after our family died in a fire, "Brett answered as he looked at Dax oddly.

"Guys," Liam said as he zoomed in on the picture, "I think I just found something," Liam spoke.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><>

"You sure you know where you're going?" Brett asked as the four of them trecked through the woods.

"I know where I am," Liam sighed. Dax didn't think they were in the right place, but then again, he wasn't exactly sure because he was doing everything to avoid Brett.

"So do I, the middle of nowhere," Brett responded as they slowed down. They heard another thud behind them. Dax sighed as he turned around to see Mason in a hole.

"Guys!" Mason's voice was slightly muffled. Brett and Liam exchanged glances before walking over to the hole, "I think I found it," Mason said as he rubbed his head.

"No shit sherlock," Dax muttered.

"You see the necklace?" Liam asked. Mason turned on his flashlight and looked around at the bottom.

"No, I don't see it," Mason responded. Brett pulled Mason from the whole.

"I thought you guys said it was a sinkhole," Mason said as he kneeled at the top of the hole.

"It's a hole. What's the difference?" Dax asked slightly agitated. Brett, Liam, and Dax kneeled next to him. Dax frowned slightly at how close but far away at the same time he was from Brett.

"I mean look at all these handprints," Mason said as he pulled at the dirt, "And look at all this dirt."

"She didn't fall in here," Brett said as he made the connection.

"She was buried," Dax sighed.

"Intense," Mason repeated. Liam jumped down into the whole and began to search the bottom.

"Do I know you?" Brett asked as his eyes scanned over Dax.

Dax bit his lip and took a deep breath, "Maybe in another life," He looked away from Brett and back into the hole.

"Why isn't it here?" Liam muttered from the bottom of the whole. Dax began to look around at their surroundings.

"She probably came back for it," Brett responded with crossed arms.

"Unless..." Dax sighed.

Liam jumped out of the hole, "I don't think this is the one."

"What do you mean?" Mason asked.

"He's right," Dax sighed as he looked at their surroundings, "It was closer to the bridge. I could hear the water a lot easier last time."

"You're just noticing that now?" Liam sighed.

"And why didn't you notice it?" Dax crossed his arms and tilted his head to the side as he glared at Liam. Liam's face fell slightly as he glared at Dax.

"If this is a different hole, who crawled out of this one?" Mason asked as he looked to Liam slightly scared.

"Someone, obviously," Dax muttered.

"Thank you for the helpful insight," Brett sighed.
