𝐱𝐱𝐯𝐢𝐢. 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲

Soojin was in one of the rooms, the laundry, sitting on the old couch, with Jisu's head on her lap, stroking the side of her hair. The tears were strolling down her cheeks all this time, as she was squeezing in her hand a half of katana.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry that I didn't save him," whispered the brunette, "Jaeheon... He asked me to say sorry from him too"

Jisu sobbed even harder, making girl's trousers wet, but she didn't mind.

They sat together for another hour, when the girl stopped crying that much. She twisted on the back, looking at the ceiling. Soojin moved her head to look at the girl from above. Jisu tried to smile, but it looked more like a grimace.

"Are you gonna copycat me in everything?" she raised her hand a little and touched Soojin's brown hair

The girl chuckled, "I pulled it better than you"

"Yeah you wish"

Jisu felt unexpected pain in her stomach, so she groaned quietly and put her hand on it. Soojin pursed her lips, brushing off the girl's hair from her forehead.

And after another hour, as they were falling asleep together, the girls heard an extremely loud thud. Jisu opened her eyes rapidly. Soojin face dropped, and she felt her heart sank when she heard gunshots.

"What's going on?"

Jisu raised her head, and Soojin stood up. She looked around the room. It had a lot of windows, two doors from both sides, and nowhere to hide. Soojin grabbed Jisu by the arms, and helped her got up from the couch.

"Here. Laid behind the couch, come on. They shouldn't find you there," she led her, helping her sat down

Jisu didn't let go her from grip, "What about you?" Soojin..."

The girl bit her lip, looking around panicked. She didn't have any weapon with her. That one time, she didn't bring her machete.

"I'll take care of myself," murmured Soojin, "Just be quiet, act like you're unconscious or something"

"Take this," Jisu put in her hand the broken katana, but the girl shook her head

"No, I'll be fine, you need something to protect"

"Soojin..."

But the girl ignored her and rushed to close both doors, but one of them was actually this kind of gate, through which you could see everything. Another gunshots sounded. Soojin's heart was beating extremely fast. The footsteps sounded close to the room, and she heard the gate opening. She couldn't do anything else, like stick to the wall, hoping that she magically turn invisible. She covered her mouth, scared that she'll make any sound. The man in red suit that walked in, turned the lights on. He passed Soojin, without noticing her. In his hand, he was holding a metal tool. He walked to the couch, jumping on it. He leaned out, to look at the Jisu.

Are you fucking kidding me?

"Oh, it's a girl," even his voice sounded creepy, "And she's hurt"

He moved closer the tool to Jisu's wound, and started to poking in it. Soojin hoped that her friend is strong enough to stay silent. Meanwhile, she was looking around for anything that she could attack the man. There was literally nothing. She could hit him on the back, or start choking him. Her chances are low, but it's better than letting him make Jisu bleed out.

All in nerves, Soojin took a step forward, very quiet, but then the other doors opened. The doors that were placed straightforward to her. She froze, holding her breath.
  Another man entered the room. He noticed Soojin right away, but didn't say anything at first, as she was looking at him with her eyes wide open.

"Jungseop is looking for you," said the new man

"Stop calling him by his fucking name, you sad little pussy!" yelled the man in red suit

"It's really not the time to do that," said the man, "You could be killed by Jungseop," he made a long pause, "or the girl behind you"

Soojin felt her insides twist. The man, in a red suit, slowly turned around to her. He smiled widely. She was terrified.

The first thing she wanted to do, is to punch the man. So she tried to do that, but he easily grabbed her hand. Then he punched her. Soojin put her hands on the face, feeling the burning pain. She growled from pain, when the man kicked her on the knee. The girl dropped on the ground.

Another man also walked to her. He grabbed her legs, while the man in red suit held her under the armpits. Soojin felt his hands on her chest, what make her panic. She started struggling with them, trying to get out of their grip, making the man laugh.

"You motherfucker! Don't touch me!"

The men lifted the girl from the floor, while Soojin was still struggling. All this time, she was feeling a man's hand on her chest, as he licked his lips. She was disgusted.

Jisu clenched her teeth, hearing her friend's screams, as she couldn't do anything. Even when she heard them leaving the room, Soojin's voice was eoching from far away. Jisu opened her eyes, and one tear of helplessness dropped on the floor.

The residents who were sitting in the small circle, draw by the leader of the gang, heard the screams from far away. They turned their heads to this sound. Hyunsoo felt a big lump in his throat, knowing who is screaming. A gunshot sounded.

"Soojin!"

He stood up from the floor. He wanted to walk out of the circle, but Eunhyuk grabbed him by his sweater, pulling him down. He calmed a little, when the girl started screaming again. The leader of the gang, Jungseop, walked to him, chewing his gum loudly. He stood in front Hyunsoo, and smiled.

"Ya, pretty boy. Are you going somewhere?" Hyunsoo clenched his teeth, still hearing the girl's screams. He shook his head, "Then sit, before I blow up your head"

He tapped on his head with a gun. Eunhyuk pulled down Hyunsoo and he sat back. To the lobby walked two man, holding between them Soojin, who was still trying to let go of their grip, and cursing the names. The residents looked at them scared. Hyunsoo's heart started beating extremely fast, when she saw girl's terrified face, and man's hands touching her body. They walked to the group, and threw the girl on the ground a few steps in front of them. Soojin groaned from pain, trying to get up from the floor.
She looked at the body next to her. From the girl's mouth was still dripping the blood, and her eyes were open. But they were empty.

"Jieun..." she whispered shocked, looking at dead body

She looked at the people in the circle. There were a few persons that weren't with them. Soojin saw Suyeong, but her brother wasn't with her. Hyunsoo pulled his hand to her, but it got kicked by Jungseop.

„Ya, lover boy, you started to piss me off,"

The man noticed that the boy didn't even look at him, she was just staring at terrified and confused Soojin. The man also looked at the girl, and walked closer to her. He smirked, and pointed the gun to her head.

The people in the circle gasped, as the girl closed her eyes, trying not to cry and make herself remember the good things, if those thoughts would be her last ones. So isn't it obvious that she was thinking about Hyunsoo and her friends? She felt cold metal touching her skin. She was taking deep breaths, trying to stop shaking. Hyunsoo felt his stomach twist, and he had to be held by another boy and Eunhyuk, ready to beat the shit out of the man. Jungseop was looking at him satisfied.

"You want her to live?" he asked the obvious question

Hyunsoo fell on his knees without doubt, putting his hands together, „Please... Please let her go," Soojin looked at the boy, when tear strolled down her cheek, "I beg you. You can kill me instead"

"No, Hyun..." she said very quietly, but she felt gun pressing on her skin harder so she closed her eyes again letting go more tears

Hyunsoo wasn't looking at the girl, he couldn't. Instead he was gazing into the man who was holding the weapon, trying everything to stay calm so he would listen his pleas.

The leader of the gang started laughing loudly, "Ahhhh, those teenagers," he put his gun down, and touched mr. Han with his boot, "Am I right?"

Mr. Han didn't move, looking at the girl scared. Jungseop nodded his head to the two men that brought the girl. They grabbed her under the armpits, and dragged inside the circle, throwing her body on Hyunsoo. The boy quickly pulled Soojin to himself, holding her in a tight hug like a little child. The girl was trembling terribly, so he tried to calm her down, by stroking her head.

The man in red suit walked to his boss, "Uimyeong said you were looking for me"

Jungseop looked at the boy behind him, who shook his head. The boss shrugged, "No, I didn't"

"You son of a bitch!" the man in red suit yelled, turning to Uimyeong

"Did you find anything? Beside this girl?" asked Jungseop

The man in red suit turned back to him, "There's another one. She's hurt"

"Stop frowning, these people are already scared," murmured Jungseop, chewing loudly his gum

The man in a red suit walked away, and another man followed him.

"You just left her alone?" he asked, "Was she not your type? Can I have her?"

"I'm saving her for later," answered him the man in red suit

Soojin squeezed her eyes, feeling her lip trembling. Jisu, poor Jisu. Is she strong enough to fight with this guy? There's no way.

The girl looked at Hyunsoo, and whispered panicked, "What is happening? Where is Yeongsu? Is he alright? Where is he?"

The boy nodded his head, whispering to her that the little boy is safe, rubbing her arm with his thumb, when the leader walked to them again.

"What are you two whispering about, huh?" he swung his gun between them. The girl froze, staying silent, "Huh?"

"We just want to know who are you," said Hyunsoo, holding the girl tighter

"Oh right..." the man jumped on the stairs, looking at the group from the up, "My name is Shin Jungseop. And I have an idea. Why don't we all just get along without fighting?"

"How can you say that after what you did?" growled mr. Ahn and yelled after, "How can you treat people like this? We are not animals!"

Soojin held her breath, scared that he's gonna get killed for this screaming, but Jungseop smiled.

"I'm sorry, but it's all I know," he raised his hand with a gun, "If you all do as I say, I won't kill any of you"

"So..." Eunhyuk spoke up, turning his head to the man, "What do you want from us?"

Jungseop walked off the steps, making people crawl back, "We should get to know each other. I bet you're curious about us too"

Eunhyuk stood up, facing the man, "Why don't you tell us? Where were you before you came here? What happened out there?"

The man chew a gum for a while before speaking, "Dead. All of them"

"Did they just die? Or did you kill them?"

"It was a small church. They'd had it fortified well, so I got my hopes up, but all of them were already dead," started explaining Jungseop, "What's interesting is there were no signs of a monster attack. They had all killed each other," he stepped closer to Eunhyuk, "You shouldn't be worrying about monsters. No. Humans are the scariest"

And Soojin was totally agreeing with him. While facing the blind monster, the protein monster or the speed one, any of them, she wasn't that much scared like she was now.

Jungseop embraced the other man, Uimyeong, and walked away with him. Eunyoo grabbed Eunhyuk's hand and pulled him down.

"Are you crazy? Stop standing up to them," she whispered, "Do you want to get yourself killed?"

"I did it because I wanted us to live. We have to wait"

"Until when?" murmured Hyunsoo

"It seems like they killed soldiers and stole their weapons and ammo. They only have a few guns and there are dozens of monsters out there"

"We have to do something," Soojin looked at Hyunsoo surprised

"What so you want us to do?" she whispered with raspy voice, "They'll kill us if anyone make a not wanted move"

"When the time is right, we'll act," said Eunhyuk as the opposite of her words, "You're not the only weapon we have. You see that Yikyung or Sangwook aren't here"

The girl looked around. He was right, they weren't with them. They luckily hid, or already got killed.
Soojin couldn't stop shaking. Hyunsoo held her tightly, whispering words in her ear, trying to calm her.

Jungseop and Uimyeong returned after a while, holding the papers filled by Eunhyuk.

"You really made an effort. Who's the leader here, huh?" the boss of gang raised a hand with the paper, "Who made this?"

He threw it to the circle, making people flinch. Eunhyuk stood up, "I did"

Eunyoo looked at him as her eyes widened.

"I heard someone performed surgery. Who did that?"

"I did"

Jungseop looked down at the people in circle, "Everyone here is completely useless. There's an old man, and a cripple, and even a patient. This place is the worst so far, but there's so many survivors. You're young, but capable, yeah?"

Eunhyuk didn't say anything. Jungseop smiled and walked to him.

"I like you, so what do you say? Will you abandon them and join me? Or will you, just die?"

Everyone looked at the boy. He stood there for a while, before passing them and walking to Jungseop who laughed. Soojin didn't even blame the boy for that.

"Good choice. Smart guy"

Another man from his group entered the lobby.

"Sir! There's a monster here"

Soojin's eyes widened, knowing right after, who they were talking about. The gang and Eunhyuk left the lobby. The girl looked around. She noticed on the floor a metal stick, the one she earlier saw in Eunyoo's hand, as she used it to protect herself.

The residents waited maybe five minutes to hear a gunshot. Hyunsoo got up from the floor quickly.

"What just happened? Who.... Did they... Did they kill Eunhyuk?"

The men pointed their guns at Hyunsoo, so Soojin pulled him down, gripping his sweater.

"He's on their side now," said ms. Son, "They killed Seonyeong"

Soojin looked at Hyunsoo, "Ms. Ahn"

One tear rolled down her cheek. She can't be sure that the woman died, maybe they just wanted to scare them. Hyunsoo embraced Soojin, squeezing her body, as he rubbed his eyes.

"Hyunsoo," Soojin grabbed his hand, and twisted her head to look at him, "I know that you'll try to help, but you can't show them that... you know," that you are also a monster, "Just try not to get hurt"

The boy nodded his head. He stroked girl's cheek, "You don't do anything, alright? Stay with others if something happens"

The girl smiled but it was a weak smile, "You know that I'm gonna do my way"

"Soo, please..."

"I'll try to not do anything," she rolled her eyes

Hyunsoo squeezed her hand. Soojin breathed deeply, when the gunshot sounded. One of the men from the gang dropped dead on the floor. The girl saw Seo Yikyung hitting another man, and running away, as the bullets started flying after her. She ran out of the lobby, and people followed her. Soojin stood up.

"What the fuck was that shit?!" yelled Jungseop

Eunhyuk jumped at his back, "Hyunsoo, now!"

The boy quickly got up from the floor and attacked one of the men. Soojin grabbed the stick that she saw earlier, and followed him. The adrenaline hit her, making her forget about the danger. She hit with it the man that rushed in her direction. She took a step back, trying to avoid getting hit. The man got hit on the head, dropping on the floor, when Seungwan and Byeongil, the guy that calls Eunhyuk four eyes often, drove over him with mr. Han's wheelchair. They grabbed him by legs, and started dragging on the floor, while Soojin looked for Hyunsoo. He pinched some man to the column, pressing on his neck the gun. Then she looked at Eunhyk, that was struggling with Jungseop. Between both boys, the other one needed help more.

Soojin rushed to him, pushing Jungseop with the stick, but it did almost nothing. The man grabbed Eunhyuk's arm, and threw him over, as he hit on the ground. Jungseop put his leg on boy's chest, pressing on it as he tried to catch the breath, and with the other hand he grabbed Soojin by her neck, also choking her. The girl started hitting him on the hands, trying not to panic.

Jungseop pointed the gun at Hyunsoo, and shot him, as the boy fell on the floor. Soojin's eyes widened, as she was trying to yell, but she couldn't. The man pointed his gun at Eunhyuk.

"Everyone, stop!" the chaos stopped, as people that fought got mostly defeated, "Let them go, or I'll just blow his fucking brains out. And maybe later hers"

He looked at Soojin who was still trying to let go off his grip, her face slowly became more red.

    The residents in the circle let go the people from the gang. They walked back to his boss.

"Sir... Behind you"

Jungseop turned his head, and Soojin also tried, but she couldn't. The man dropped her on the ground, and let go Eunhyuk. The girl coughed, trying to catch the breath. She looked on the side to see ms. Ahn walking in their direction. Soojin's eyes widened.

     A few bullets hit the woman, but it didn't bother her at all. She was still walking, later stabbing some man on his neck with the big blade that was coming from her hand. The man dropped dead on the ground. Soojin stood in front the woman, as she was walking to her slowly. She didn't have a mother's gaze in her eyes anymore.

"Ajumma..." cried the girl, seeing that ms. Ahn is taking a swing with her hand, and that she is her next target

When Soojin expected to feel a horrible pain, the thud sounded, but she was alright. Hyunsoo stood in front of her, with the blade coming out from his back. The girl's face dropped. Eunhyuk took her wrist, and they both stepped on the side.

Hyunsoo put his hands on the woman's neck, and started choking her. He grimaced, clenching his teeth, as tears filled his eyes. He didn't want to do that, not at all. Soojin watched him killing ms. Ahn, when the tears began to flow down her cheeks. She wasn't blaming the boy, of course she wasn't.

Ms. Ahn rolled her eyes, opening them widely when she froze, meaning that her life ended. Hyunsoo took his hands off her neck, and the woman's body dropped on the ground. The boy fell on his knees, and Soojin rushed to him right away.

She sat on her knees, and hugged him, stroking his head, trying to calm down both of them.

"I'm sorry," he cried

"It's okay Hyun, it's not you fault, shhh..." Soojin felt a salty taste in her mouth, "It's not your fault, it's okay"

The boy's body turn very heavy, pressing on the girl. He closed his eyes, and Soojin knew that he passed out. And she knew that his secret is out for everybody.

Under the weight of his body she sat down, with his head on her hand, close to her stomach. She didn't stop stroking his head, and sobbing.

"Oh, how sweet," she heard, but tried to ignore it, but it was hard when gun was pointed at them, "Move"

Soojin shook her head, pursing her lips, and holding the boy closer, "No. Please..."

Jungseop titled his head to his accompanies, and two man grabbed Soojin, pulling her away.

"No! Don't touch him!" she yelled, when the boss started to rummaging in Hyunsoo's wound, "Don't touch him, you piece of shit!"

The man ignored her, looking at the blood
