Soojin jumped off the few steps, going to the security room. In her hands she held a few big rolls of paper, and in her mouth she had a cigarette. On her head she was wearing yellow headphones. With her elbow she opened the doors of the room, pushing them with her back. When she turned, she saw a man looking at her scared, in hands holding one of the paper that were scattered on the desk. It was the same man in glasses that he earlier was taking out the packages. Soojin didn't hide her surprise when she saw him. She moved her hand to her mouth, taking out the cigarette, trying not to drop the paper rolls that she was holding.
"What are you doing here?" she murmured
The man gulped, feeling embarrassed that he got caught but he was also angry.
"Is it true? Are we all gonna die?"
Soojin looked at him surprised. She moved closer, looking at the paper that he was holding, and the man took a step back. He dropped it on the floor.
"Why are you rummaging in this stuff?" she only asked, avoiding answering the question
The man groaned angry. He approached Soojin, grabbing her by arms. The girl's eyes widened, as he started to shook her harshly. The papers fell out from her hands, but she was still holding the cigarette.
"We are all gonna die!" he shouted at her, and Soojin grimaced, "There's no food or water! I don't want to die!"
"Can you calm the fuck down? Ya!" the girl yelled at him back, but the man still was shaking her, making her head dizzy. She didn't wanted to do that, but she raised her hand with cigarette, and poke the man on the hand. He groaned from the pain, but took the hands away. Soojin clenched her jaw, "Shit, I'm sorry, I didn't... Just calm down"
She took the step forward, to check his hand if she got burned badly, but the man moved away.
"Don't touch me!" he yelled, "Just send Hyunsoo for food outside. He's not gonna die anyway"
Soojin furrowed. This man had audacity. He ran out of the room, nudging confused girl. She was irritated, but also she understood in what situation they were put.
"Shit"

"We have a problem," said Soojin when she walked to the shop
The group looked at her confused. They stopped moving the reserves of food to boxes. Jisu leaned on the table with one hand holding her stomach, trying to keep a straight face. Soojin furrowed, and wanted to ask her what's wrong but in this second, to the shop ran the man that was in security room.
"Stop it!" Soojin turned to him and so did others, "Did you think I wouldn't notice if you ran away? I want my share right now!" he rushed forward, trying to take the food from the table, so Soojin grabbed his shoulders, trying to stop him, "Don't touch me you psycho! She fucking burned my hand!"
He said that, looking at others. They gave Soojin a surprised gaze. The girl's eyes widened, as she turned to her friends.
"On accident," she murmured
"Fuck! I can't trust anyone anymore!"
The man pushed Soojin away. She hit the cabinet with her body, and groaned quietly, as he took the pocket knife from the counter. He pulled the blade, pointing it at the girl. She held her head, looking at the man without any emotions. She really daubed that the man would be able to kill anyone. But Hyunsoo rushed to the brunette anyway, standing in front her, looking at the man angry.
"Calm down"
"I'm not gonna die here like this. I'm gonna leave here on my own," he turned to Eunhyuk, pointing the knife at him, "You. Give me the car keys," the boy didn't move, so the man ran to him, throwing away the boxes on his way, "Come on you fucking asshole! Give me the damn keys!"
The boy stood there unmoved, while the man was screaming at him, swinging the blade in front his face.
"Crazy motherfucker," scoffed Nayeon, making him point the blade at her, but she couldn't care less
Sangwook got up from the chair he was sitting on. Soojin walked in front Hyunsoo, and hit the screaming man on the hand, making the knife fell out, while Sangwook grabbed the man by the collar of his shirt, and pulled away. He hit him on the face, making the man collapse on the floor. He groaned from pain. Sangwook picked him from the floor, pulling to the exit. The group followed them.
Sangwook throw the man on the floor, right in front the doors to outside.
"Why don't you go out there, then?"
Other residents gathered in the lobby. The man screamed.
"You don't know what it's like to have your life in someone's else's hands all the time!"
"What are you doing?" mr. Ahn approached them, "Do you want the kids seeing this?"
He looked down at Yeongsu and Suyeong.
"Who cares if the kids see this or not?! We are all going to die anyway!"
The dead silence occurred. Everyone stared at the screaming man. Mr. Ahn took a step towards him.
"No. Not all of is will," he squatted, "People who act stupid like you do, just because they're afraid, are the one who dies first. Get a grip!" mr. Ahn hit the man on the leg, "And more importantly, take care of yourself"
No one said anything. The man put his head down, rubbing his eyes. Eunhyuk took a step forward, looking at people in the lobby.
"Everyone, please gather in the kindergarten"
The people were murmuring to each other, very much confused. But they could feel that obviously something was very wrong. The residents went to kindergarten. Suyeong and Yeongsu turned around and walked to Soojin and Hyunsoo. They looked down at kids.
"Is it true?" asked quietly the boy, "Are we gonna die?"
Soojin sighed, and picked him from the floor.
"Didn't you hear mr. Ahn? People that act stupid are gonna die," she said, "That's why you need to listen to elders, and no matter what stay together, right? Suyeong, you're the older sister of this little gentleman, so on your arms is to keep you both together"
Suyeong gave her a hard look, "Why don't you just give me a gun?"
Soojin's face dropped. To be honest, brunette didn't know what to say. She exchanged surprised looks with Hyunsoo.
"What?"
"Well, I have to protect us, and I need to gun to do that"
"That's not what I meant," murmured Soojin, "You're not gonna be in this kind of situation," honestly, maybe she's gonna. Monsters aren't picking between adults and kids, "Just be always in adults company, alright?"
She walked away with the boy in her arms, because she didn't know how to continue this conversation. Hyunsoo squatted to the little girl.
"Maybe later, we could try to learn to shoot from the crossbow, what do you think?" he smiled softly, and so did Suyeong, "You did a great job, by throwing this Molotov cocktail on the spider. Mr. Han told me. You are very brave"
The girl nodded her head and blushed. She looked down and smiled.
"Ya! What are you two whispering about?"
Both of them looked at irritated Soojin, who waited in front the kindergarten with Yeongsu.
"Just don't tell Soojin, she's worrying too much already"
Suyeong nodded her head. Hyunsoo straightened up, when she took his hand. He looked at her a bit surprised, but he didn't let her go. They went to Soojin and Yeongsu, and together found the place to sit, in the back of the room. Hyunsoo sat on the chair, Soojin in front of him, holding the little boy on her thighs, and Suyeong sitting next to them.
Eunhyuk stood in the middle of the room, waiting for residents to come inside. When the four last people walked in, he spoke up:
"We need to venture outside. We only have five days worth of food. We'll search the nearest convenience store first"
"Isn't it too dangerous?" asked Jaeheon, who was leaning on the wall close to him
Eunhyuk looked at him, "We've been preparing. Mr. Ahn scouted out the area and mr. Han is working on the car"
"Hang on there, four-eyes," another man spoke, making Eunhyuk look at him, "Who's going then? Are we gonna draw straws?"
"Calm down, it's probably not gonna be you," murmured Nayeon with her arms crossed
Soojin twisted her head to Hyunsoo, pursing her lips. He's for sure gonna go, and that what worried her. The boy put his hand on her arm.
"It's an important mission. Those likely to succeed will go"
Some people also turned to look at the Hyunsoo, but trying not to make it so obvious.

"Come on, it's my turn now!" exclaimed Yeongsu
"Ain't no way, I didn't finish yet," laughed Soojin as she jumped on another tile
She was standing on one leg, jumping between lines that the kids draw on the floor, playing with them on hopscotch. Well, she played with Yeongsu, while his sister stood on the side. The little boy waited at the end of the line for his turn.
Soojin jumped on another tile, and looked at the girl.
"Come on Suyeong, I see that you want to try" she smiled
The little girl crossed her arms, "It's for kids"
Soojin didn't stop smiling, "Shit, does it mean I'm a kid?" she turned her head to Yeongsu, "Don't say shit, it's a bad word"
The boy giggled, and jumped behind the line on his one leg. When Soojin make it to the end, she turned around, and started jumping back. On her way was Yeongsu, so she picked him on the floor, and started jumping with him, back at the beginning of the route. The boy started giggling, trying to let go from the Soojin's grip.
"That's not fair!"
Soojin smiled, and put him down. Yeongsu shook his head, and sighed, starting from the beginning. Soojin followed him right after.
Hyunsoo walked on the corridor, hearing laughs from there. He watched Soojin and Yeongsu playing the hopscotch, with a slight smile on his face. He put his hand in the pocket, and took out his phone. A bit unsure, he raised it, pointing the camera on Soojin. When he was about to click on the button, the girl turned her head, noticing him.
"Ya! What are you, some stalker?" she exclaimed, and waved her hand, "Come to us, you don't have to hide"
The boy put his phone down, and a little embarrassed, walked to the girl with kids. She hopped over another line.
"Hyunsoo, play with us," asked him Yeongsu
The boy smiled, "You know what? Maybe later," he walked to Soojin, and grabbed her waist, "Now, I have to kidnap this lady from you"
He lifted the girl, and pulled her from the fencing floor. She smiled, but didn't oppose.
"You can't do that, that's cheating!" said Yeonsu, "She crossed this line before finishing!"
Soojin chuckled, "I'm sorry, kid. You won!" Hyunsoo was pulling her away from kids all this time, while she tried to stop him for a second, "Suyeong, go play with brother. You're still a child, so act like one"
The little girl gave Soojin a harsh gaze, but walked to Yeongsu.
Hyunsoo and Soojin walked away through the corridor, the boy's hands still on her waist. He gave her a kiss on the neck, making her giggle like a small kid.
"You think we can leave them there alone?" she asked, "What if some monster would get them?"
"They'll be fine," said Hyunsoo
"We're leaving them, after I said that they should be in adults company"
Soojin shook her head, looking at the floor with a slight smile. Hyunsoo let go the girl, and twisted his head to took out from his pocket a small box. They stopped.
"Chocolate milk?"
He gave it to her. Soojin took it a bit surprised.
"How the hell did you get a chocolate milk?"
"I took it while packing. The last one. Don't say anyone"
"Oh no, Hyun, I have to tell Eunhyuk," she shook her head, "That's some serious delinquency"
She put the small straw in a hole, and took a sip of the milk. Hyunsoo smiled, and they continued their walk. Soojin held to him the box, but he shook his head.
And as they were walking through corridors aimlessly, they heard a music from a guitar. They looked at each other, and walked to the room from which the music was coming from.
Jisu sat there cross-legged, holding a guitar. Her fingers were delicately playing on a few strings that were still there. She had a short hair, since Jaeheon had to cut them in the basement. She didn't even look at them when they walked to the room.
"New haircut?" asked Soojin, "You look pretty"
Jisu scoffed, still playing on the guitar, "Thanks"
"It's been a long time since I heard a music," said Hyunsoo
Jisu stopped playing and looked at them. The teenagers sat down on the bench. Hyunsoo wrapped his arm around Soojin's shoulders, as she put her head on his chest. The boy put his cheek on her head.
Jisu rolled her eyes, "Calm down, lovebirds," she put her hand back on the strings, lowering her head, "It was abandoned in a corner"
"What song was that?"
"I was just improvising. There are only four strings left. The melody was a bit dull, wasn't it?" she chuckled, putting down the guitar
"I'd..." said immediately Hyunsoo, "I'd like to hear the whole song"
Jisu smiled softly, "Yeah?" she took her guitar, but when she put it on her thigh, close to her stomach, she groaned quietly
"Are you hurt?"
"It's nothing. I'm fine"
She slowly started to playing the same song as earlier. Soojin closed her eyes, listening intently to the music that was very calming. She was feeling the boy's heartbeat.
Hyunsoo started thinking about his family. And later about people in this place. Maybe he was treated like an outcast by most of them, but there were some people that made him feel accepted.
"Sweet home," he murmured
Soojin opened her eyes. Jisu looked at Hyunsoo, not stopping playing, "Hm?"
"This song. It makes me feel like home"
"I know," Jisu smiled
"You know?"
"This song... didn't have a title yet," she explained, "You just gave it a perfect one," she turned her head to the teenagers and smiled, "Sweet home"
