The gangster, whose name turned out to be Sangwook, put the unconscious Hyunsoo on the mattress. Soojin stood next to them, watching the man, who had a really unhappy look on his face. He turned around and walked out through the open doors.

"Wait, sir" Soojin stopped him, and went to the doors, grabbing her purse on the way. She took from there a green tape, handing it to him, "You lost it yesterday on the corridor"

Gangster looked at the tape, and then at the girl, who smiled awkwardly.

"I don't need that," he said, giving the tape back

Soojin took it a bit surprised, "Oh, okay, thanks"

Sangwook turned around, and wanted to walk away, but he stopped again, looking at the doors with dents, "This woman did that?" he asked

Soojin nodded her head, "Yes. She was trying to get in here, so she was banging on them all the time"

Sangwook looked at the doors for a few seconds more, and finally left. Soojin stick out her head and watched him until he disappeared behind the corner.

She then looked around the corridor, to make sure that nobody crazy will jump to her at any moment. She closed the door, making sure to lock them. Soojin turned around, and her gaze focused on the sleeping boy.

What was she supposed to so now? Should she even be in his apartment? The girl for sure felt more safe in here, than in her house with her father.

Soojin walked to the mattress where laid Hyunsoo, and she sat on the edge. She tried not to stare at the boy like some creep, but she did anyway. His mouth was a bit open, but he wasn't snoring.
The girl tucked her brown hair behind the ears, and sighed. For how long people usually faint? She had no idea.

But she also was very tired. She's not gonna wait here, for the boy to wake up, when she can also take a nap.
Soojin started looking for some blanket, or anything similar. When she finally did, she spread it on the floor, next to the mattress where Hyunsoo slept. She laid on the side, with hand put under her head. Maybe it wasn't very comfortable, but it was something. She closed her eyes, falling asleep within minutes.

Soojin woke up after six hours. She turned her head to only notice that Hyunsoo was still sleeping. She sat on the blanket, stretching her arms. It was weird that he still didn't give any signs of being alive. Maybe he was dead?

Soojin bent over the boy, putting two fingers to his neck to check if he was even still breathing. He was. But his skin was cold.

The girl got up from the floor. What she supposed to do now? She had the idea of turning on the game on boy's computer, but then she remembered about her friend. She took out the phone from her purse, and picked the number to Nayeon. She waited for a long time to connect with her, but she failed. She tried again. Nothing. Then again. After the fifth try, she gave up. Maybe she came back from work, and now she's sleeping or whatever. That what Soojin wanted to believe, trying not to worry too much.

The girl started walking around the apartment. She's never been a type of nosy person, but she was really bored. She wanted to put the knife she took earlier to the drawer, but then she noticed school ID belonging to the boy. She put the knife next to her, and took the card in her hands.

The boy on the picture had shorter hair than Hyunsoo, and his face looked.... happy, like truly happy. It was hard to recognise the boy from now and from the picture. Soojin looked at the name of the school, put above the picture. A quiet gasp escaped through her lips. It was the same high school that she was going to. And then she knew why Hyunsoo reminded her of someone.

~ FLASHBACK ~

The brunette student was walking her way through the school's corridors, with earphones put in her ears. The music was blasting loudly, until she entered the class where she was supposed to have a math lesson. She took off the earphones, putting them to the backpack as she sat to her desk. The girl tried to ignore the happy screams, and laughs at the back of class, as the boys were playing with their victim. She tried to mind her business, and focus on studying.

But other students had different plans.

"Hey!" someone poked her arm with a big, wooden stick. The girl turned around, "Yeah, you. I don't think you had your chance yet"

She looked at the boy who was laying on the ground, his cheek was touching the floor. On his face were a lot of new cuts, and blood was slowly dripping on the floor from them.

"I think I'll pass," she said quietly

She wanted to turn her head back to her notebook, but the boy, who was holding the stick, put it under her chin. He twisted her head to make her look at him.

"What? Are you friends with him?" he asked amused. The girl shook her head, "Well then come on..." the boy bent to look at the name tag on her shirt, putting the wooden stick on her desk, "... Mae Soojin"

The girl put down her head. The boy, who was winding up the whole situation, put his hand on Soojin's neck. His fingers went under the collar of her shirt, making her shiver uncomfortably. The girl clenched her jaw, holding her breath.

"Come on, Soojin," the boy whispered, "I don't think that you wanna lay next to him, don't you?"

The girl shook her head again, placing her hand on the wooden stick. The boy took a step back with the big smile on his face. Soojin slowly got up from her chair, taking the stick with her.She stood up above the laying boy. The laying boy's name was Cha Hyunsoo. He lifted his head a little, looking at the girl. The blood dropped on the floor from his forehead, cheek and lips. Soojin raised the stick just a little, hitting him without any strength. The boys next to her laughed.

"I know you are a girl, but try to hit him hard, okay? You barely touched him"

Soonin pursed her lips. She lifted a stick above her arm, and before taking a swing with it, she mouthed apology. Hyunsoo growled from pain, when the stick hit him on his body.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Soojin from the present, put down the boy's ID on the table. She put a hand on her mouth, shocked. The girl looked at Hyunsoo, who was still sleeping. She for sure shouldn't be in his apartment. But she can't just leave like that.
So as the compromise, she went to his bathroom. Soojin leaned on the sink, turning on the water. She got water on her hand, splashing it on her face. She felt eaten up with guilt. And also couldn't believe in this coincidence.
At the same time, Hyunsoo opened his eyes, waking up. He slowly sat on the mattress, looking around confused. He was alone. Was he dreaming? Was the crazy woman a dream?
Then he noticed a broken broom, meaning he wasn't dreaming. The boy stood up on the mattress, taking off the curtains that covered the window. He gasped, seeing the view behind it.
Whole city and every building were on fire. The cars on the streets were mostly twisted on the other side. All birds were flying in every direction, trying to avoid any danger. It looked like the end of the world.
Hyunsoo felt a hot blood, coming from his nose. And it wasn't a thin trickle, it was a complete waterfall, but instead of water, it was blood. He put his hands to his face, but the bleeding didn't stop. He looked down, where on his mattress the blood stain was slowly getting bigger. Liquid appeared in his mouth, the boy felt disgusted by the metallic taste.
When it finally stopped, Hyunsoo looked at his dirty hands. He rubbed his face with the sleeve of his shirt, when the sound of toilet flushing woke him from his thoughts. He turned around to the bathroom. Who was in there?
Hyunsoo took a stick from the broom in his hands, trying not to make any unnecessary sounds. He walked off the mattress, to the bathroom. The door opened, and Soojin stood in them.
She gasped, and took a step back, when an end of a stick swung in front her face. Hyunsoo also gasped, pulling the stick to himself. Soojin put her hand on the chest, feeling her heart beating superfast.
"What the hell?!" she hissed scared
"I'm sorry, I thought that you can be a monster or something," the boy scratched his neck nervously
"A monster? You think a monster would use your bathroom politely, and flush the toilet?" she asked sarcastically, "And monster? You really think that monsters exist?"
"Well, if not, what this woman was?" he furrowed
Soojin shrugged, "Just some crazy chick"
"She ate her cat," the girl shrugged again. Hyunsoo rolled his eyes, and waved his hand to give her a sign to follow him. They both walked to the window, "You think in this situation, monsters can't be real?"
Soojin's mouth dropped. She put her hands on the window, scanning the view. It looked horrendous.
The girl turned her head to Hyunsoo, to finally notice his face is all in blood. She looked down, realizing she almost stomped into a big stain.
"Why your face is all in blood?" she asked him
The boy put a hand to cover himself, "I got a nosebleed"
"Just like that? That's weird"
Hyunsoo walked off the mattress, and sat in front his computer. He turned it on, while Soojin went for paper. She handed in to the boy, who thanked her with a head nod. He wiped his face and hands.
Then he took a keyboard and typed the keywords. The boy clicked the mouse, opening the first article. Soojin leaned on her hands, closing her face to the screen, and reading it at the same time with Hyunsoo.
"It's not a disease," he murmured, "It's a curse"
Pictures of other people were showing on the screen. Soojin placed her finger on the screen, then started reading this part.
"Patients complain of frequent nosebleeds auditory hallucinations..." she looked at the boy, "Did you had hallucinations?"
"I don't think so" Hyunsoo shook his head. He scrolled down to the article, and picket the text he read, "The cause couldn't be determined. The infected person turned into miserable, desperate beings"
"Here," Soojin pointed at the screen and started to read, "It suddenly begins one day with a nosebleed, and never stops. Humans can't overcome it"
"If you have symptoms, kill yourself before it's too late. Being alive will hurt others," murmured Hyunsoo, "If you decide to live to the end there's something you must know. That is...."
He scrolled down a bit, when a red triangle showed on the screen, meaning no internet connection.
"Are you kidding me?" scoffed Soojin
The boy tried to refresh the website, but it didn't work. He chuckled irritated. He leaned on the back of the chair, rubbing his face, tired. Man just slept eight hours, and is still tired. Soojin straightened up, crossing arms on her chest.
"What do we do now?" she asked
Hyusnoo sighed, "I think... I think that the best for you would be, if you just came back to your apartment"
Soojin looked at him surprised, "Well, that's rude. I know that I am here without a question, but...."
The truth was, that she felt safe in this apartment, more than in hers. But she shouldn't expect the boy to let her stay here.
"I don't want to kick you out, that's not what I meant," he scratched his neck, "I'm thinking about your safety. You read the same thing as I did. If my nosebleed means, that..."
"Come on," she patted his shoulder, and the boy flinched, "I'm sorry. But I'm not afraid of you turning into one of those monsters. It seems to me that if you were infected, you would have turned long ago. Your nosebleed is probably just because of emotions or something."
"But I still think...."
"Hyunsoo, please. I want to stay here, I'll be quiet, you're not gonna notice me," she put her hands like in the prayer, and put them to her forehead, nodding her head, hoping that he's gonna agree, "Please"
"Alright," Hyunsoo rolled his eyes, and Soojin clapped with her hands happy, "But if I would act strange, promise me, you'll leave me"
"Calm down, you'll be fine," she heard rumbling in his stomach, and she realised how hungry she is, "Want to eat something?"
Hyunsoo looked at the doors of the apartment, "You think the ramyeon is still there?"
"Sure"
The boy got up from the chair. The teenagers walked to the doors, when Soojin looked through the peephole. There wasn't anyone on the corridor. She opened the doors, but then she heard a weird snarling next to her. She looked up to see the weirdest creature she ever saw.
She gasped, taking a step back, trampling on Hyunsoo's feet. He grabbed her arm, pulling her down on the floor. Monster put his skinny hand inside the apartment, walking in.
It was hard to describe his look. His skin was grey and all in wrinkles. But the weirdest thing was that half of his head was cut off. Teenagers could see his brain, and one big ear twitching all the time, while the other one was gone. Hyunsoo put his hand on Soojin's mouth, when she almost gasped again.
The monster was walking very slowly, touching the walls.
"I can't see!" he growled
Well, it's not a surprise, his eyes were gone. His long nails were scratching the walls.
The monster stood in the middle of the room, trembling terrible, and stretching his arms in every direction.
Hyunsoo took his hand off the girl's mouth, putting the finger to his lips, mouthing her to be quiet. He pulled his arm to catch the stick of broom that was laying not far away. Soojin grabbed his arm, making him twist his head to her. She pursed her lips and shook the head, knowing, whatever he's planning to do, it's not a good idea. But Hyunsoo did that anyway.
He grabbed the stick, but the monster apparently hear that. He twisted his head to teenagers, growling loudly.
"I hear you!"
His arm extended, as it hit a ceiling above them. Soojin flinched surprised, but with relief that it wasn't any of them.
Monster turned around, and slowly started walking in their direction. Soojin didn't move at all, hoping that this thing would walk past them. And he did. He left boy's apartment, growling someone's name. Soojin looked at the corridor, where she saw a box of dry noodles. She heard rumbling from her stomach, and thought that she's gonna take a risk.
She looked around. There weren't many things that would be good to throw, so she picked a boy's shoe that was laying close to her. She took it, and stood up. Hyunsoo looked at Soojin surprised.
"What are you doing? He might still be there" he whispered
"I know," she whispered back
She was stomping very slowly to not make any sound. Her head appeared in the corridor, as she was looking around to see where the monster went. He heard her.
His half head turned to her, as he growled. Soojin thought that either she's a genius or the dumbest person to walk on the earth. She threw the shoe in the other direction on apartment 1410, closer to her apartment. It landed with a loud noise on the other end of the corridor.
"Manager Han!"
Monster growled, and turned back to the shoe. His arm extended again, and hit the ventilation grate. Monster walked over there.
When he was finally far away, Soojin quickly picked the box of instant ramyeon, running back to the apartment. Hyunsoo closed the door behind her, trying to do that without making any noise. Soojin exhale with relief, turning back to the boy. He looked at her shocked.
"Are you nuts?" he whispered
"Are we eating?" she raised a box of ramyeon with a smile
