H E R

As we walked down the silent road, I couldn't help but think about the others. If they were still alive, like us.

Or maybe they didn't survive, and they were dead. Rotting on the side of the road like a dead animal.

Just the thought of that made me close my eyes, resisting the tears wanting to come out.

"Carl." Rick called after the boy who was walking ahead of us. "Slow down."

"Carl." He said again. "Stop!"

Carl stopped, turning around to look at us.

"We need to stay together." Rick said.
"We gotta find a place, food, supplies." Rick huffed. "Hey, we're gonna be-"

Rick stopped when he saw the annoyance on carls face.

We continued walking, I hadn't stopped holding my bloody stomach since earlier.

The blood had almost stopped, I knew I needed help. But Rick and Carl grieving was more important.

Once we found a old diner, I let rick and Carl go in, not wanting to interfere with their father - son moment.

I sat down on a rusty bench, inspecting my wound.

It didn't look too bad, it also helped that there was a exit wound. That means it won't be hard to heal.

I will have a nasty scare though.

I quickly flinched when I heard yelling from inside, I grabbed my gun, and ran inside. Still holding my stomach.

I cautiously walked through the diner, thinking the worse.

What if walkers got to them? I'd be all alone.

"I stoped in my tracks when I saw rick and carl beginning to walked away from each other.

"What was all the yelling?" My raspy voice echoed.

"It was nothing." Carl huffed, brushing past me to the other room.

I rolled my eyes then went to look for supplies myself.

I searched around the kitchen for food, all I found was cans of fruit. I piled them up in my bag. Then slumping it over my shoulder and going to find the others.

"I found some canned fruit." I said, walking into the room.

"That's good." Rick slightly smiled.

Carl then showed me the food he found, way more then I had.

"I win." Carl said flatly.

I scoffed before leaving the diner behind rick.

When we found a house, we went inside for shelter. For the night.

When we entered the house, we walked around, guns out.

Me and Carl walked down the hall, turning around when Rick shouted to carl.

"Carl!" He yelled.

"We got it." Carl jerked back.
"All the doors down here are open."

"Just stop." Rick said sternly.

I noticed Carl tense up, he then turned around and hit the wall.
"Hey asshole! Hey shitface! Hey-"

"Watch your mouth!" Rick yelled back.

"Are you kidding me." Carl scoffed.
"If there was one of them down there, they would have come out."

The two stared at each other for a moment. They both then sighed and walked into different rooms.

I went upstairs, wanting to find something better to do then watch the two argue any longer.

I walked into a kids room marked lisa it had pink walls with dusted butterfly's all around.

I opened some drawers, finding some novels, comic books, and magazines.

I guess this kid liked to read.

I took out a novel called "the princess's knight" I began reading to pass some time.

After a while, I went downstairs to find Rick asleep, Carl settings up some pillows for the floor.

"Hey." I said, sitting down on the couch chair.

Carl said nothing, he just continued fixing the pillows.

"Hey." I repeated.

Still nothing.

"So what, your mad at me too now?" I scoffed in annoyance.

"I'm not mad. I just want to be alone." Carl huffed, giving my a glare.

"You seem pretty mad." I mumbled, walking to the kitchen.

"I'm not." Carl said, following me into the kitchen.

"Thought you wanted to be alone?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

Carl rolled his eyes then sat at the table, pulling out a comic book.

"New one?" I asked referring to the book.

"What?" Carl asked, lifting his head up from the book.

"New book?" I asked again.

"Oh yeah, I found it upstairs." Carl said.

I raised a eyebrow, the only room that had comic books was the pink room, the one where I was reading.

"The pink room?" I asked.

Carl nodded, "you didn't even notice me come in, you were too busy with your book. The princess's knight." Carl mocked the last part.

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes.

"It's getting late. You should go to bed." Carl sighed.

"So should you." I said back, hopping of the counter.

"I tried, can't sleep." Carl put his head down.

"Hey, it'll be okay." I said, hugging him. I know that he can't sleep because of Judith, and he doesn't even need to tell me.

Carl wrapped his arms around my waist, mine around his back, pulling him close.

"I'm going to bed, but promise me you'll try." I smiled pulling away, Carl nodded.

"Carl. Promise me you'll try to get some sleep." I insisted.

"I promise cass." Carl said.

"Pinky?" I asked with puppy dog eyes.

"I pinky promise, Cassidy Sophia Anderson." I cringed at the full name. But we then locked out pinky's together.

"Hey have you seen franny?" I asked, looking around for the stuffed frog I always carry around.

"I put her in my bag, you almost forgot her at the prison." Carl said passing me his bag.

"I can't imagine if I forgot her there. Thank you." I smiled at the boy.

"Your welcome." He smiled back.

Carl knows what franny means to me.

When I was 2, my mom bought her for me. She's a little green frog, that's all she is on the outside. But on the inside she's everything to me.

I've always carried her around, ever since my mom bought her for me. When I was younger, I didn't have a lot of friends. Franny was my only friend. And my mom knew that. So did my dad but.... Well he never cared. Your yet to know about my dad.

Let's just say, whenever I did something bad, franny was the first to go.

I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Goodnight cowboy." I smiled to the boy before turning around, and heading upstairs.

"Goodnight cassie." I heard Carl mumble behind me.
